It almost looks like an attempt to weaken the combined company to prevent any real competition for V and ATT.

I was thinking the same thing. For Sprint and T-Mobile to combine, they need to become a weaker 3rd player which in turns defeats the purpose of this entire merger. If the government wants the US to be a leader in 5G then they shouldn't need to divest any spectrum. The government either doesn't see it that way or they don't care. Sometimes I would really like to slap some sense into certain people.

I find this to be a valid point. New T-Mobile promises to expand coverage but there is no easy way to test if that is actually occurring.

Given the US government’s history of terrible service maps, confirming T-Mobile adhered to its promises would be an uphill climb, even for a third-party auditor. The government has only a fleeting idea where service currently is, making tracking improvement difficult.

What do you mean by dropping connections?

I'll be back in that area in about a week. I can let you know what I find.

Sorry, I'll try to be more clear. I've been losing data connection on a consistent basis in the surrounding areas; I'll have good B25 or B41 connection then nothing, I don't even get ehrpd. I have Signal Check setup to alert me every time I lose data connection and it has been happening more frequently. I would check myself but don't really have the know-how . Does that make some sense?

Prices will never be lower. Long gone are those days, whether or not the merger goes through or not.

I agree with you but I could see them get in trouble with their wording. On https://newtmobile.com/ it states

New T-Mobile will be uniquely able to accelerate the country’s position and quickly deploy a broad and deep nationwide 5G network that will deliver unprecedented services and lower prices to consumers at all price points and businesses of all sizes across all parts of the U.S.

I could see them come back and say well lower than Verizon and AT&T...
