  1. The amount of time it takes a modern phone to reconnect to LTE after dropping you CDMA is not related to the phone. Sprint has implemented ORNL network-wide and that should be taking care of CDMA-to-LTE handoffs.

    Idk from my usage

Going from no or poor service to LTE

    iPhone X — 45-90 seconds or longer
    Galaxy S8 — 5-10 seconds

  2. Yes.  I'm not sure why, but my phone seems to more aggressively hand off to 3G now than before.  There are no 16port antennas in my area.  If they are going to be firing up VoLTE soon, they better figure something out quick or 'call metrics' are going to tank QUICKLY due to dropped calls when LTE drops.

I know iPhones have an extremely slow or long time between pulling for a better connection...

And I’ve been seeing more 3g as well.

  3. Sprint is ending its $15 unlimited plan promo this week

So it seems that Sprint is ending this promotion this week and according to them its because of high demand. Say what?
Can someone explain to me this reasoning? If the purpose was to bring in new customers to the network and the promo is successfully doing that due to its high demand, why kill it? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Id assume this promotion had a purpose... Either add new subs at any cost. Or see if that lever would sway clients from XYZ carrier. If I was abetting person, it's the latter.

Then again it could've just been a way to stay in the news.

  4. I see more mass upgrades by TMO on 600mhz -- it seems they did an amazing and fast roll out. If I recall folks here thougt TMO wouldn't be able to see much strides for a year plus.

Reason I bring it up is TMO can't have much more free cash than Sprint. Yet can operate fast and lean.

Positive note Sprint has rocked it's upgrades this past year...

  5. Something to think about; I noticed that Walmart's wifi network throttles Amazon.com to a slow crawl. Makes sense if you think about it. It discourages customers from scanning a bar code and finding it cheaper from one of Amazon's many sellers.
I definitely do not see Walmart as a a store that would be willing to host Magic Boxes based on that fact.

Why would any store want to deal with that overhead.

  6. Tmobile is 30 billion in debt and less then 2 billion in cash on hand, so how is this merger talk going to happen, with unicorn horns and Fairey dust. Sprint 36 billion debt and over 6 billion in cash on hand. Then realize the cost of Reconfiguring, and you get nothing but headaches. Don't forget the spectrum financial plan that sprint just initiated to.

I think it’s well past who needs who more.

    And the fact is....

  7. Sprint definitely has work to do but they are improving. However, they should set their sights on being a AT&T competitor based on these results.

Yet TMO did what Sprint should have done.

  8. Love my X — but either selling it or leaving sprint. The radios in a it are inferior especially if you frequent fringe areas. Mine can’t lock onto LTE. Where as an s8 does.

I highly doubt Apple will incorporate hpue. Especially if it’s Qualcomm related but not sure if it is. Sorry.

  9. Sprint has their work really cut out for them this year. They are making a lot of big claims with what they plan to do this year and next. I just hope they follow through and either meet or exceed. Given their track record with promises, I can believe most are taking it with a grain on salt until proven wrong.
