I've enjoyed going caseless with my N5. Don't think I will be looking for one unless a decent Mophie pack comes out. Anyone else share my boldness?

It's interesting that north and south of the Seattle area is all red and yellow, but the area right around Seattle is all purple. Hopefully, we see more of those in changing to yellow in the near future.

yeah, a funny pattern there.

A lot of recent updates for this service area over the last few days by Robert's reports.

Thanks teeitup, good to hear.
I shall drive a little south to a yellow pin and see what happens.
They have 800 Mhz over in Richland, jealous!

When I read the hoopla about 180 Mbps on spark, I laugh. All people want is 1 (one) Mbps, or a signal where they don't have one.
I don't understand why they are spending a penny on this spark, when they haven't completed 35% of the NV upgrades, according to the status map.

I am not a CEO, but I would never use "OMG" in even a tweet. Legere is a clown, just pandering to his audience.
AJ
And it works. There is a reason he is CEO, he is an actor.

is it disappointing that is just a GPE LG Pad 8.3?
Since it has an SD card, it will be interesting to see if it gets the same SD support as the s4 GPe.
The external access to the SD card has been mostly been removed since the 4.3 update, and now for sure in the 4.4
Google play editions don't get the best software support. On the s4 GPe, the front camera resolution just got reduced from 2 MP to VGA, even though it advertises 2 MP on the play store.

I believe that outline-style icon means the microphone is not actively listening for voice commands. When the icon is solid, it is actively listening. Perhaps you disabled it, or something else shut it off automatically, maybe low battery? (Just a guess there, no idea if it would do that.)
-Mike
Yep that is correct, it has to be solid for it to listen for the 'ok google or ok jarvis' command.
I found issues when not having the language set to US English.

The average user goes through a little over 700MB a month. So as long as the average stays reasonable Sprint won't have problems with keeping unlimited.

Why does a user only use 700 MB per month?
The answer would be different for different cell companies.
If the signal/speed isn't there, a user isn't going to use a byte or even a nibble.

I'm not a huge fan of the gray map background color, but otherwise the website seems pretty similar to what it always has been...?
-Mike
You used to be able to link to full screen maps with a zip code.
For example, I used to use this:
http://sensorly.com/fullscreen/map/4G/US/USA/ATandT_Mobility/lte_310410#q=98001
Now when you enter a zip code, you have to wait for it to search for the city, then you click it.
Then you select carrier.
Then you wait,
Then you select 3g or 4g, then you wait.
Then it asks you if its ok to save cookies.
Still can link to direct maps though.

Looks like they are using the same web site designer as T-Mobile.
Life is hard for me now.

Their website is pretty user unfriendly now.

This may have already been answered, but does anyone know what the buffer zone is for the IBEZ?

I'm sorry, but there has to be more to it than just, "Security Issues" Not sure I'd want to stab the backs of the country that basically owns us...LOL
I'm sure it is security issues, but the inverse, where they wouldn't have their listening/logging software installed, so they don't want them here.

Tower Mounted RRU's will actually help quite a bit, they effectively lower the noise floor for the band by a couple db. This makes all the difference with CDMA/LTE.
Does an increase of 3db mean about twice the signal strength?
-
Compression? Huh?

That is a known issue. Somewhere, previously in this thread it is discussed.
The point, however, is that in their great wisdom, Google has decided to block apps from being able to access the Airplane Mode feature that assists in resetting the data connection.
I, hope my explanation was detailed enough. Please jump in Mike or AJ if I left something out.

Yep, you need to be root to do this now.

On the main screen that shows the 1xRTT / eHRPD / LTE/ Wi-Fi signal strength bars,
Can the eHRPD carrier be listed also on this same screen? Just how the 1xRTT carrier is.
Both are shown on the notification pulldown eHRPD (Verizon) and 1xRTT (Sprint).
thanks

I'm surprised they aren't just giving it away.

I really really like the case, but it kills the phone every time I put it on. Looks like I'm not the only one that happened to. Bad batch or something. Ordered from Amazon, looks like Spigen is replacing them, so I contacted them.
I got mine from their ebay store.
I also got their ultra fit, but I like this one better, the grippyness is great.
-
Did anyone get the Spigen Slim Armor case?
http://www.spigen.com/nexus-5-case-slim-armor.html
I ordered one, however when I put it on the phone, it constantly squeezes the power button, causing it to power cycle almost constantly making it effectively useless.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen that.
I have this, its really good. No problems at all. One of the best cases I have seen.
-
I don't think so.. I previously mentioned that my testing showed that the only difference between the two is that it changes the mode on the Radio Info screen from LTE/CDMA to LTE/GSM/CDMA. Nobody has mentioned finding anything otherwise.
-Mike
So you can roam internationally, if you have it enabled.
This was a similar setting to those in the Verizon Droid phones.

I have issues where its in the CDMA Sprint mode, and it coming with errors saying that it can't find a T-Mobile signal. Ugh.

I definitely participated in multiple HD calls while visiting family in the Chicago suburbs last week. The calls were between my Nexus 5 and my sister's new LG G2. It definitely is a cool experience to have such a clear call between two cell phones.
Is it real obvious when its an HD call?
I know when use Vonage to Vonage with their app, that is very clear.

Will be in Milport next week, I'm hoping for great LTE speeds!

And neither have great coverage.
They'd be better off building coverage instead of buying customers.
