Get the moto x Monday.
-
I'd rather that they break out roaming vs non-roaming before breaking out the frequencies companies use.

Are yall able to send MMS (sprint)? I can't send MMS (group texts or pics) via hangouts
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

All plans.

Turns out there isn't any need for me to schedule for UPS to hold the package at their facility. I just checked and it will be here tomorrow so a friend can grab it for me.
We were worried, *phew*.
Whats for lunch?

What the what? I'd hardly call that "dead" last, by any measure. Finish up NV and get 800 rolled out everywhere and begin Spark, and Sprint will easy overtake ATT and TMUS. I'd also want to know what the error spread is on the results; if it's ±5%, Sprint could actually be #2...
Do this do that do more of this do that with a little more this, right.
The problem is that Sprint didn't complete the first step and they're already on step four. They should be walking before they go running.
The survey is about customer satisfaction, if they aren't happy, they aren't happy.
Want customer stories about not being happy, head over to Reddit. Some sound like actual problems, not just uneducated whining.

The update to 4.4 is out today. Has anyone received it yet?
-Luis
yep, got in on a 2012 n7 and the n4 yesterday.
The 2012 n7 is still slow and laggy, junk tablet.
The n4 is still nice and zippy.
For 4.4 you need to update the app ops. Install this and save your battery, disable location/wake lock on many apps.

I think the question is why use a screen protector when it already has one? It's like installing a bumper on a tank. Use your finger and not your keys on the screen.
So you're guaranteed the quality of the screen not to change, junk from day one.
The same people get phone insurance too, got to pay that extra $10 per month plus $150 deductible for the $200 phone.

Since I live in Puerto Rico I cant use Google Voice, so that leaves me looking for a good voicemail app on the Play Store. First I tried Youmail but didnt like but now I am using Visual Voicemail Plus and so far is working good. Give it a try.

Why can't you use google voice, not integrated, but using it for voicemail?
-
For some of the reasons I outlined above.. it's too bloated, it doubles the number of rings for my voicemail to pick up, it logs all of my texts and calls on Google's site. I tried doing that "Google Voice Lite" for voicemail-only, but as soon as I put the app on my phone, it forces it to the full version because it identifies me as a Sprint customer and they have a partnership. Without the app, it's not very convenient to get the messages. I used it for 3 days and the transcription was surprisingly bad, otherwise I would skip the app and just use the text message notifications. Without the app or text transcription, I might as well just use the regular Sprint call-in voicemail.
I realize GV is pretty powerful and has some great features, I just have no need for any of them myself.
-Mike
The transcriptions are are sometimes funny.
It is a very basic app, doesn't integrate that well. I like the app because it notifies me of a voicemail when I'm without any cell coverage, I can play the voicemail back without any cell coverage too.
I like it because I can use it with multiple cell phone numbers from different providers, they all go to the same voicemail and google voice tells me which number they called.
-
Why don't you want to use Google Voice, just for your voicemail?

Sprint recompresses images and video.
The only way I know how to stop them doing this is to use a VPN on your phone.

Sprint shouldn't have even come up with the name Spark, no name is needed, its just another LTE connection on a different set of frequencies. That Spark icon is a big reason we like Nexus devices, less of that junk.
They're starting to sound like the T-Mobile CEO with his immature rants.... well not quite.

Well, AT&T is buying Cricket.

On another line of a friend.

Interesting.

1900 is available in quite a few areas around the Puget Sound area. I've not seen any 2600 connections as of yet.
I haven't put my n5 into that mode yet.
Here is a map of the LTE so far in this area.

-
Any idea when the Nexus5's LTE will start working in this area?
This is a Samsung market, so the CSFB issue is everywhere here that I have seen, haven't seen LTE since switching from the s3 to the n5.
-
They kept them since they already built out their DT facilities based on that frequency. Some chose to go back if they snuck by with a STA low power rig and did a hot cut later. So many reasons I could go on and on about.
Makes sense, some in my area went back like KZJO Fox 13, but some here didn't.
-
Looking at the map, most of the Verizon licenses are in exclusion zones. How does this benefit T-Mobile at all since they won't even be able to deploy them in the major metro areas? Wouldn't it make more sense to buy the rural licenses and speed up VoLTE rollout so they don't have to deploy WCDMA for voice?
TMO already owns lots of rural spectrum that it isn't using at all, just like Sprint.

The RF 51 is licensed by KCEB, which is related to the CBS 19(rf 18) here. Ends in 2014. Can't they renew when the license is up?
When they were given a second channel for the digital conversion, their license dictated that they give one of them back.
Like this one here for KIRO, http://data.fcc.gov/mediabureau/v01/tv/authorization/1115828.pdf
I don't know how often they renew them, looks like 5 years. But it looks like a lot of stations decided to keep their new digital channel while having a virtual channel of their old channel. I don't know why, maybe another knows.
-
They wont get ride of channel 51 in East Texas, I don't believe, our local NBC affiliate, owns the FOX 51 in Tyler,so They use it to have news on at more than morning midday, 5,6, and 10pm. Now they get a 9pm, and another slot to show news. So if it is like that in other markets than have fun Tmo
https://stations.fcc.gov/station-profile/kfxk-tv
Looks like that is really channel 31, and their license expires next year.
-
Sure, it just means you are roaming on Verizon for data at that moment. You can be connected to different carriers at the same time just like you can be connected to different Sprint sites at the same time.
Thanks.
When on Sprint today also, not roaming, the pull down notifications showed 1xRTT (Sprint) and eHRPD (-), this was while downloading a file for more than several minutes. In a 4G area, on the Nexus5, so it wasn't connected to LTE as that is broken as we know.
The phone showed 3G too.
