  1. I would think today (Tuesday).    If they hold to what was said... any new additions after closing would be put on the T-Mobile network.  ie... device too.    Not sure if that helps.   I would think any deal Sprint had would cease as soon as signatures are in place.

I'm sure we'll know more once the markets open... information will get generated.    If the plan is actually in place to close tomorrow or not.    I'm sure the banks wouldn't of been told to have funding ready for April 1st, if it wasn't really going to happen.     We'll see.   Might be a busy news day later?

I thought about today as being the final day. I was going to grab the LgV50 while it’s on sale for $600 but when I think about it, how well will that device transition into T-Mobile.

  2. I think for all us who have been long time Sprint subs that there is a little fear with the network integration and not wanting to relive the network vision era. On the other side of this is the excitement of what kinda of coverage and speed this will finally bring us. As it stands, T-Mobile has made good on their promises and failure to combine the networks properly is not an option. They’d be highly scrutinized like no other. I think all will be fine. I would say 6 months from the official close will give a good enough idea of what to expect.

  3. Yeah, I don't think we'll have a Network Vision experience. They've been planning for this for a long time now, and they have brought on John Saw who can provide guidance on integrating Sprint's network assets into T-Mobile's anchor network. I'm looking forward to them flipping the switch too. Hopefully it happens soon and I believe it will all happen pretty quickly.
Could make sense to get that Unlimited Premium plan with your discount, especially with the price guarantee.

I’m think I’m going to just sign back up today.

When thinking about it, T-Mobile kinda had no choice but to keep Saw since he’s very knowledgeable of 2.5 and how to make the most use of it. I’m sure he had major plans to make that spectrum a beast with Sprint but was restricted besides doing the minimum.

  4. Agreed. I think T-Mobile will be able to execute well. T-Mobile's integration of MetroPCS and its rapid deployment of 600 MHz shows it can be done with the right management team.
Spectrum only matters if Apple makes an iPhone which supports it.... which they seem to do on their own schedule.

That’s very true. I would like to think that things on the network side are already in place to flip the switch on 4/16. I don’t want a network vision adjacent experience in my city. I closed out my sprint account last month and I’m considering signing back up and nabbing their Premium plan since I can get it for $66 per month (byod discount of $10 and $10 if I add my employer). It’ll be nice side plan to have for the cheap based on what all is included and like can keep the plan for 3 years. I’m sure the amazon perk will leave which I’m ok with.

  5. I think they would probably declare Chapter 11 soon after the merger is not approved.

Plus they’d need a whole revamp of the brand from the ground up.

What truly sets Sprint apart from its peers? Is seems like they are lost in identity. I don’t think they are a value brand no more. Comparing the cost of my Sprint line and my Verizon line, the diff is $0. Sprint did cost more with that god awful account spending limit that needs to go away. I wonder why they haven’t?

  6. I agree.
Personally, I want this merger to fail because as a Sprint Shareholder I was lied to by Marcelo/Masa for years about Sprint. Aside from the loss of competition that I believe will happen with a Merger, since Marcelo/Masa want the merger, I don’t.
I want to see Masa open that checkbook of his and be forced to put some real capex into Sprint. This is SoftBank we’re talking about here and they own nearly 85% of Sprint. That seems easily forgotten when Sprint is referred to as the #4 Carrier.

I agree but sadly they had no intention on fully owning Sprint but grabbed the low hanging fruit, prep it up and sell it off. The Apple of their eye was T-Mobile from the start. Sprint is easily forgotten they’re either the #4 carrier or just not mentioned at all and it’s sad that Sprint has gotten to this point. What is needed is a CEO/Owner who is serious about righting the wrongs and making Sprint a serious competitor besides on price. I don’t want the merger to go through in some aspects but truth of it is that Sprint will struggle with the people who are running the show. We are at the point now where we are seeing Sprints true with asset wise but will never see it fully blossom under the Sprint brand due to bad choices, CEOs and past mergers(nextel, not executed well) and full network upgrades (good old network vision——what a time)

  7. Geeze...Sprint is always caught in some. Some like this is self inflicted. I just don’t see how he can really clean that up too much. That’s feeding into the hands of the AGs. I wonder now what other blunders Sprint has now. I wouldn’t be shocked if more come out. Sprint ALWAYS show their hand.

  8. Legere will be out at TMo in 2020.  Mike Sievert to replace him.

I’m not shocked here. John was brought in to perform a certain task and he executed it successfully. So now Mike will be taking over and he’s more of a back room business type of guy. I think we will see The New T-Mobile more align themselves with the big two. The name of the game is now profit and not a free for all. Let’s see how the T-Mobile loyalist take to this news.

  9. John Legere responds to AT&T. Coming from a company that calls HSPA+ 4G you've got no room to talk Johnny boi.

I’m sure AT&T first responders network will hold up when they really need it unlike T-Mobile’s and their lack of generators at their cell cites. When will T-Mobile get to the point where they will let their network speak for itself and not the crazy antics that has been very successful for them gaining subs.

  10. Who knows only time will tell.

You got that right. I’m just can’t wait to see the promos that the carriers are going to have to try and suck in Sprint customers and what T-Mobiles plan will be to retain Sprint customers.

  11. Once the two networks are combined, will it honestly be competitive with the big two? Especially in areas where both Sprint and T-Mobile struggle or have no coverage?

Also, in a area where Sprint is stronger and T-Mobile is weak, will the T-Mobile tower get decommissioned or will the Sprint tower still go? These are my concerns and why I don’t want the merger if I take a hit in coverage because of T-Mobile favoring their own towers.

  12. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/06/softbank-ceo-says-after-wework-there-will-be-no-rescue-investments.html

"SoftBank will make “no investment for the purpose of rescue,” Son told investors on Wednesday, after the Japanese conglomerate reported its first quarterly loss in 14 years. He said portfolio companies must be “self-financing,” and “that’s something that I would like to clearly extend my message to you.”

Remember when Mayoshi Son was worried Sprint would weigh down Softbank's share price?

    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

F dude. I’d laugh if everything in his portfolio is losing him money. I’m kinda on the fence with him being apart of The New T-Mobile. He’s kinda left a bad taste in my mouth after this Sprint debacle(everyone connected to it too). I’d give my money to Verizon. However, we shall see how much say he has.

  13. When this merger is complete, I hope whatever money Softbank sinks into whatever company just fails. It was a real missed opportunity being that Sprint had the brightest future (starting to show now with their ease in deploying 5G). SoftBank just wasn’t the right company to take on a real challenge that was Sprint and coming up with way to improve them for the long term.

  14. You beat me to it. It’s great to see that but it also shows the untapped potential Sprint has always had. Next step is them maintaining that second place spot and slowly increasing

  15. How are everyone's iPhone 11 series devices working?

Coming from a X, I’m using the Max Pro and it’s great! The battery literally lasts me all day (7:45am - 10/11pm). It appears that my data connection is better when it comes to speed, upload and even at my desk where my phone(iPhone X) would fall to 1x or 3G, it now holds onto b25/b26.
