  1. DAS equipment is owned by a different company, and equipment compatible with Sprint LTE was behind schedule in ALU territory. They should start being accepted by this winter, with full completion by Spring 2015. The hotels have no say on work starts. They are still subject to the same permitting authorities that macro sites are subject too. Give it time, they will get done. Edit: fixed the year for the completion of Vegas DAS.
  2. Apple has something big planned! MacDailyNews: Apple building massive structure at Flint Center for September 9th special event http://macdailynews.com/2014/08/28/apple-building-massive-structure-at-flint-center-for-september-9th-special-event/
  3. Oh heck no! I even set up hotspot on my iPad so I could register it and download a few apps too!
  4. Awesome! I'm going to try to do that at a Best Buy in Vegas to get my Retina MacBook Pro. That'll save me over $200 compared to Apple!
  5. I need to change my stance. I can justify a new computer purchase because I need the tax write off on the leftover grant money that didn't go for tuition and books.
  6. I can't justify using student loan money to buy a computer, but I'm going to anyway.
  7. Rumored new charger for iPhone 6. http://www.redmondpie.com/alleged-iphone-6-usb-charger-surface-online-featuring-fresh-new-design-photo/
  8. For permission to use Sprint's spectrum and build out their LTE, Illinois Valley Cellular would have to bring high speed data to their towers, whether by fiber, microwave, or any AAC (alternative access carrier). From there, they would have to upgrade their base station cabinets, replace antennas, and place Remote Radio Units either on the tower or by the base stations. It will take time for the RRPP members to do the work needed, but if they are really gung-Ho about this, they will get it done.
  9. Remember, Sprint is going to notify customers before they reach their initial roaming limits. Hopefully they notify the customer that they will accrue charges for roaming if they exceed the 100MB limit in those 3 messages, and then the customer can't complain of lack of notification on Sprint's part.
  10. But you can also get a prepaid phone on another carrier for when you visit, or even a mobile broadband device for the trip. They sell prepaid MBB devices on most carriers now.
  11. Hotspots are supposed to work just fine. I haven't run across too many that don't.
  12. That's still a hefty roaming bill of up to $50 for roaming. Yikes!
  13. Yep. I know. I laugh though because at&t is fighting fire with fire. Legere deserves it.
  14. Since T-Mobile is trying to snake at&t, Verizon, & namely Sprint customers, Cricket jumped on the bandwagon and is doing the same to T-Mobile & MetroPCS customers. Take that John Legere! http://cricketwireless.mediaroom.com/2014-08-22-Top-5-Reasons-T-Mobile-and-Metro-PCS-Customers-Should-Switch-Now-to-Cricket-Wireless
  15. Apple submits their information to the FCC the same day that they announce their phones. Sometimes other companies announce devices, and then you see the FCC filings later between announcement and launch. Take the Galaxy Alpha. The China Mobile version just received FCC OET approval this week, yet the phone was announced over a week ago.
  16. I'm testing on a 2009 MacBook Pro, and for the very little bit I used beta 2, it's running cooler than beta 1. I don't think I'll notice a difference in battery life since the battery is already shot on that Mac, but I'll never know until I run it through it's paces.
  17. I didn't get the refurbished MacBook Pro retina this week due to delays for receiving money, but I'm going to buy the brand new one instead and I'm still sticking with a 512GB flash option. I have to have 512 as I'm currently running around 280GB on my 1TB HDD.
  18. I don't want my apps to run in The Cloud. I prefer native apps.
  19. A 2GB hotspot plan @ $20/mo would be awesome!
