  1. Hey...monetize that WiMax while you still can!!!

Robert, Roberto, Admin, Hey You! Its all good! But this was posted from my E4GT with ICS using Forum Runner

WiMax is good until at least 2015, so as many partners as they can get will keep their cash flow to pay their bills.

  2. Fortunately for Sprint I was too late to cancel my contract without penatly, hopefuly they hurry up with the enhancements.

Max, give them time. I was pretty upset the last few months with Sprint and then last month when visiting home for a few days Sprint finally surprised me. They had finally competed T1 upgrades in my area as well as Barstow, CA, and the improved data speeds make me much happier. They will get to Phoenix.

  3. Understood. However, I have seen on those mentioned devices the lab reports where they say they can support 3MHz LTE channels. Also, I just came across LTE FIT performance reports from Ericsson, A/L and Samsung in the field where they acknowledge they are prepared to support 3MHz LTE channels. I sure wish one of these references mentioned band!!!

Does Sprint have any under-utilized A block or B block spectrum? It could be possible that they are testing in the unused portions of their existing PCS spectrum. I wish the references mentioned band too.

  4. I'm just glad I get to hang out with you guys. It won't be long until I'm thrown off the island! :hah:

Thrown off the island? You are the Admin. You have total immunity, lol.

  5. I don't know either. I'll do some more investigations on it later. Also, we have the same Macbook. I highly recommend getting 8GB of RAM for it. The performance is much improved.

If I don't upgrade to a newer 15", then I will be buying an 8GB RAM upgrade. So you have the Mid 2009 model too?

  6. I thought that was what the 700 Mhz LTE public safety band was used for. I didn't think the H block would be considered as public safety. I really hope not. Besides 1900 Mhz is not that great for public safety given that its propagation characteristics aren't as good as the 700 Mhz band.

You are right, I guess I forgot. However, the issue at hand is not whether the other carriers will ever use the PCS spectrum to deploy LTE, it's whether at&t and Verizon will buy parts of the H-block just to squat on like they do with other spectrum just so that Sprint can't acquire the full nationwide H-block since it will be done by auction.

  7. I really hope that there is a purpose in the bill and that it has to be used for LTE service. If so then that benefits Sprint since we all know that verizon, ATT and Tmobile dont plan to launch LTE at PCS band. Also it would make sense to give it to Sprint since there will be no interference issues unlike if it were given to Verizon, ATT or Tmobile.

Yes the bill specified that the H-block was to be used for LTE and I think, but don't quote me, that it was supposed to be used for a nationwide emergency broadband network for law enforcement and emergency personnel.

  8. Man I hope AT&T does not invade the PCS spectrum band for LTE. Sprint really needs that PCS "H" spectrum block for additional spectrum especially in those markets that only have 15-20 Mhz of PCS spectrum currently. Ideally I want Sprint to buy nationwide licenses of the "H" block so that they can aggregate them together to deploy a 10x10 carrier with LTE-Advanced.

Id rather have Verizon, Tmobile, AT&T and the smaller regional carriers like MetroPCS and Leap fight for spectrum in the AWS band and leave the PCS band for Sprint for the taking.

I thought that the government has a specific use for the H-Block PCS and it has to be used for the purpose that was outlined when congress approved the bill.

  9. I'm surprised you are getting usable roaming in the US on GSM. I thought that domestic GSM radios were disabled in the chipset so that wouldn't happen. Also, I didn't know that Sprint had GSM roaming agreements with any of the U.S. GSM carriers. Talk about surprises.
