I am not tech guru but doesn't cdma use more juice than gsm? Also if they said they had it set up as cdma/lte(with no lte signal) versus just cdma which would also cause it to use a little more juice. So maybe I am reading this wrong but its almost as if they are saying that they were slightly disappointed since it has a slightly larger battery compared to the one x. Anyway, to me it would seem like the evolte will have excellent battery performance.
If the phone wasn't constantly searching for LTE it would have gotten better battery life overall. They may have purposely did this to try to discredit the bigger battery, or they were just being dumb. I'm sure it gets better battery life overall once it's always connected to LTE.

Sure' date=' markets are a somewhat arbitrary internal way of dividing up coverage areas but nobody would argue that Verizon isn't far-ahead of other carriers in terms of LTE deployment.
My main issue is their exorbitant pricing, it is entirely worth it to wait for Sprint.
The odd thing that I have noticed about Verizon press releases/deployment is that while 200 million people seem to live within 230 internally defined markets. They plan to expand to 400 markets by the end of the year, while only bringing an additional 50 million people into their coverage area. I guess this is the year where they're focused on expanding coverage into rural areas and other tertiary markets.
They plan on having LTE across 100% of their coverage footprint by the end of next year, which makes me wonder about when they plan on winding down EVDO.[/quote']
Until they migrate all their customers over to LTE. EVDO should be around even on Verizon for a few more years. And if Verizon gets the AWS spectrum they want, then EVDO could be shut down as soon as the end of 2014. Roaming on Verizon's 1x & EVDO will remain for a little while longer, but VoLTE would already be in most new phones by then.

Does this have bluetooth? Can it connect to 2 bluetooth devices at once?
No, no Bluetooth, but I thought I remember reading that it has wifi capability to connect more than one device to it in addition to the iPhone that it's connected to.

I got a Class 6 16GB SanDisk MicroSD card from Costco for $20, and the performance on it is great for storage and accessing the few apps that allow me to transfer them to the SD card.

"LG flagship"? Is that an oxymoron?
AJ
I haven't seen a flagship phone from LG for a long time.

On this map it shows the 3G voice coverage that used to be Alltel
And here is a PDF in case my picture doesn't show up because all my data services are weird tonight.

Yeah, they added 3G coverage to rural Montana and rural Nevada where they didn't have coverage before. I'm not sure what other markets they acquired from the Alltel deal.

How fast are your speeds? What device are you using?
4GHoward, I have a Clear iSpot, and lately my data speeds are down to .55 down and .76 up. They might be trying to get the iSpot users to upgrade to standard devices though.

A few months after Verizon lit up LTE in Vegas I got a data card and tried out their new LTE network, and the max speeds I ever got on it was 12Mbps. Actually, it was more like a month after they turned it on.
-
Hmm. But if I turn off cellular data and 3G, it's still the same speed (about 4 to 5 seconds). Not sure if this puts it into 1x mode though.
One thing I noticed with my iPhone I had on at&t is that it took 4-5 seconds to send a text message, and that was long before iMessage existed.

at&t acquired Alltel assets from Verizon. 2 different networks there too.
at&t then immediately shut off all towers and immediately replaced them with HSDPA 3G.

From what has been seen so far, Network Vision will not be a let down at all. It is well worth the wait.
