  1. Having a removable SIM means being able to use another Carrier's SIM card in your phone while you visit another country instead of having to rack up international calling up the you know what. There is a side benefit for GSM users that they can hot swap devices, but there are some limitations with CDMA devices and hot-swapping LTE SIM's that will hopefully be worked out by the time Sprint stops using embedded SIM's.
  2. Inside the casinos the carriers have DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) to help with in-building coverage. There are a few towers with work being done in the Vegas area, but nothing near the Strip or the Rental Car Center that I know of yet. if you check out the Vegas Permit map, and you have a chance to check out any towers near where you are, that is if you are still in Vegas, post some pics.
  3. If you don't think that Verizon and AT&T didn't have problems with their network upgrades, you are sorely mistaken. There are still towers in the Vegas Market that Verizon has permit applications out that still haven't gotten approved, and those applications are 3 years old. Sprint is spending over $6 billion on Network Vision and the 3 deployment Vendors have hired hundreds of companies with thousands of employees to do the work. However, cities have the ultimate say as to who gets to do what and when. So don't go blaming Sprint for the slow rollout in some areas and not others. And just for the record, San Gabriel is an active deployment area, so work is already proceeding there. I just checked Sensorly and there is even active LTE at the corner of Mission Rd and San Gabriel Blvd.
  4. If only I could remember where I read it. It might have been in the Android Central forums in the Sprint Galaxy Nexus section.
  5. No, permitting issues could be holding up work, waiting for equipment to be shipped from AlcaLu, or other misc. reasons. Give them time, these things don't happen overnight.
  6. You are stock rooted? Yes you would have to relock the bootloader. Are you having it overheat on you? I can use Forum runner for 15 minutes and it'll be over 100 degrees, and 10 more minutes after that it's over 111.
  7. That's true. But how many people do you know that actually pay attention to thread titles? I've missed them a few times, that's for sure.
  8. Screen size and resolution is not as important as a fully functional phone, IMO.
  9. My screen is too small for me to view the small writing. I prefer the use of Forum Runner on a Mobile phone, but I could try the mobile version of the site, but I'm sure it doesn't show any more details than Forum Runner.
  10. When you use Forum Runner or Tapatalk, you can't see what phone others are using. It makes it difficult.
  11. How fast is your 3G data service where you are at? Welcome to S4GRU! Over in the Sponsor's section we have a map showing all the permits issued for Network Vision work for the Las Vegas Metro area including Henderson, plus maps for all tower locations in the Vegas Market, and all completed sites for Sprint. Info about becoming a Sponsor is located here.
  12. From the 1st to the 2nd, I'm doing worse, but I've had this one longer than the first GNex. I've heard rumors they added the Galaxy Victory to the trade out list. Maybe it'll be a better phone in the long run.
  13. Yep, and on Monday I'm going to go back in to the store hoping to get something better, otherwise I have tech support to help me if the store doesn't help.
  14. Probably. If your school has WiFi, my suggestion is to lock on to it, and use it to keep your battery life up.
  15. Mine drains on 3G and Wi-FI equally as fast. Yes, it drains fast too. And for the most part, data download speeds are around 100-250k and upload is .5 Mbps. Typical for an overburdened site.
  16. In some areas I have a problem connecting to eHRPD in the Lower Central Valley, but when I'm in the LA Metro or Vegas Markets, I have no problem with it.
