It performs pretty decent according to the FCC docs, coming in right under the flagships of last year, but real world testing is the only accurate measurement to go by. We will see for sure when the phone is released.

iPhone's don't use an MSL. The phone unlocking has to be done by the carrier and then submitted to Apple so the phone can be unlocked they iTunes. It's another one of Apple's control mechanisms. Almost every iPhone can be unlocked by a 3rd party except the Sprint ones, and I'm not sure why that is, by I'm going to research it out and report back here when I find out.

You are right. I did miss that. This is A-F block. It is certified for LTE/CDMA, that much I know for sure. I wonder who will use them then.

Actually, if Sprint's Samsung Windows phone is really the Ativ S, then the hardware specs are very similar with one having Android, and one have Windows phone.

SVDO is a thing of the past. It may have been a result if Sprint requesting the manufacturers to put it in the phones, or the chipset just happened to support it. The last phone to include SVDO was the Samsung Galaxy Victory. All phones since then have only included SVLTE except the iPhone, which can't do either. Cherish your SVDO capable phone while you don't have LTE.

There was an article out there on the web that proves you were wrong on that. As soon as I find it I will post, but Sprint's iPhone 4S was indeed unlocked when released. Sprint was supposed to send out a carrier update to lock it down, but I never saw anything saying they did.
Edit: Here's the article: http://www.macworld.com/article/1163003/sprint_clarifies_iphone_4s_unlocking_policy.html
The reason for the AT&T microsim is a test bed as it will tell you if you have a locked phone. I was wrong about the AT&T and T Mobile domestic use.

It's actually the SPH-L500, and not a Windows device. Cloud4sites has a mobile test system that someone tested the phone using it back in December and it had Android 4.1.2 onboard. It's definitely a mid-range device, and I eagerly wait for an announcement from Sprint or Samsung.
Most iPhone 4S phones on Sprint were supposed to be unlocked for other Sim Cards out of the box. Rumor had it that even domestic bands were unlocked as well. Try putting an at&t microsim into it and see what happens.
