You definitely are bouncing back and forth between 3G and LTE. I think that's the difference in signal strength you are seeing. -117dBm is a weak LTE signal. You must be a good distance from that tower or have a block/brick house. What kind of LTE signal do you get outside on the tower side of your home? Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

I just thought of something. Are you getting the signal strength from the LTE Engineering screen or in the Settings/About menu? The reason why I ask, is that -117dBm RSRP is a -92dBm RSSI signal equivalence. Since 1x and EVDO are measured in RSSI, your device could be switching back and forth between 1x/EVDO and LTE. If you get the signal strength from the Debug LTE Engineering screen, it cannot get mixed up with anything. It will purely be LTE RSRP. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-335-sprint-marketing-updates-4g-lte-city-list-where-work-is-under-way-and-adds-9-more-communities/ Yes. Work wasn't supposed to start until Q1-2013. It's a little ahead of schedule. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

I will probably pick an iPhone 5 should the pricing get into the $400 range. You iPhoniacs will overpay for your used devices. But I sir, will not. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

I'm pretty sure OK will have its own subcontractors. At least they better. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

Samsung has their own similar product. Deployment of small cells will not begin until late 2013/2014. I imagine they will include PR as well, but we have very little info about Sprint's Small Cell plans at this time. Sprint is still in the early planning stage. Also, please do not use ALL CAPS. Thanks. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

That's correct. You will not have market wide coverage in the near immediacy. But work has already started in the market. And there will be some scattered signals probably appear in the next 30 days or so. Sprint has already released PR's saying work has started in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. I know we have gone over this before. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

There are 170 sites in the NYC market that have already been converted to Network Vision standards in our Sponsor maps. AlcaLu is famous for all of a sudden turning on a bunch of these suddenly over a one or two week period. This is what they did in Boston and Baltimore. At some point in the next few weeks you are likely to see a lot more LTE coverage than now. And probably enough that Sprint could do a market launch if they chose to. However, the Hurricane probably is causing some delay. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

Sites don't show up on our NV Sites Complete map until Sprint inspects and accepts the work from the OEM/subcontractors. So its possible your nearest site has now finishing up and testing but not yet signed off as complete. It's always fun to find a new one. Congrats. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

I'm interested in picking up a flagship WP8 device when they come out on Sprint. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

Question about LTE in the basement of a building
S4GRU replied to shifted's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
If you are getting -67dBm inside a hospital basement if it is from a Sprint macro network site, then you will have great LTE reception in your building. However, I would be very surprised that you can get -67dBm from PCS on a Sprint site outside the building, even if it was on the rooftop of your building. But I'm thinking your hospital must have a "Sprint In-Building Solution" program, which deploys DAS system throughout buildings of major companies and customers. These will not likely be upgraded with the Network Vision deployment and will be handled separately in the future. I don't even know if they have LTE equipment for these systems yet. Robert -
Pretty good! And yes, I was actually trying to audibly sing along. :music: Robert

Work is under way, hundreds of sites have been upgraded and some are already live. You can see some of the live sites here at Sensorly: http://sensorly.com/fullscreen/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=new_york_city,new_york Deployment will continue, with more sites going week after week. Launch is not likely to happen in November since the Hurricane. But it still may happen in December. Launch will probably occur with 60% - 70% coverage. But work will still continue even after the launch until every site is converted. Robert

The Cincinnati market should start work in Q1-2013. Stay tuned. Robert

They will be starting in locations all over the Oklahoma market. Once they start a market, they will not leave until the whole market is done. However, Ardmore will be the first one that will have a launchable amount of service. Stay tuned to S4GRU to hear about other work in the Oklahoma market. Robert

Based on this post, I believe that you will be a happy Sprint customer in approximately a year or so. And it will incrementally get better every week until that point. It is not an easy process but it is a process underway. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

I'm pretty sure Michigan will be in the next announcement. Work started in Minnesota before the announcement today. I'm feeling good you guys in the Wolverine State will start seeing activity in the next 30 days. Robert
