  1. I have had the same feeling with every astroturfer. I used to fall for it time and time again. They are convincing. They are paid to be convincing. We don't host Sprint complaints, period. Everyone is free to complain about Sprint. They just need to do it somewhere else. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  2. In my communication with the guy he was not a humble person trying to learn about the network. Or even a disgruntled person learning about the network. He had all the signs of an astroturfer. Here is the bottom line. I have run this site for nearly 3 years. And I used to give people a lot of rope. However, a few personality types have emerged over time. And so far, everyone who has come in and posted two dozen negative posts in 24 hours has turned out to be bad to keep around. The halls of S4GRU are full of people who came in and posted a rant or two and then became very productive members via education. Heck, even some of our staff members fit that bill. Someone who makes that many posts in such a short period of time is on a mission. He succeeded. Also, his home Comcast IP address does not match his market he claims. He also claims to be a Sprint FanBoy. A Sprint fanboy would not be so hostile to other fan boys, even if he was not happy with his service. It's not as if this is an old account, he just registered it yesterday and declared himself a fan boy. He also mentioned in one of his posts he was a long time lurker. Wouldn't he received some background info if this was true after lurking all this data at S4GRU for so long? Even his screen name evokes the imagery that he is here to Troll. He is saying he has come to this site to tell some sort of Truth, as if we are not. The guy was here for trouble, plain and simple. Astroturfers are very good at playing dumb and playing the victim. They will sit there and try to convince everyone that they are good people just needing some more info. I've been played by them several times on this site. I've fallen for the stories myself. I've defended them against staff who have wanted to take action. And every time I've been left the fool. Every time. So if it means that we may accidentally once out of 100 times cast off someone who may have been rehabilitated, it's the risk I'm willing to take. Our members don't want to read through dozens of new members disgruntled posts to get to useful or thought provoking conversations. We have the rules we do for a reason. Our rules are added one at a time, and as needed. And though you may be unhappy with Sprint now, and possibly unhappy with S4GRU right now, I would argue that if we hadn't enforced these rules in the beginning, you would likely never even became a contributing and frequent visiting S4GRU member at all. S4GRU would not exist today if we allowed a free for all negative discussion. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  3. LTE is becoming more and more widespread around Detroit. As wonderful as that is, there are still some pretty big holes. It will take another 6-9 months to close up the big gaps. They will get smaller and smaller every few weeks as more sites come online. However, LTE on 1900MHz only goes so far. It will take the addition of LTE on 800MHz to bring a completely seamless LTE experience across the Detroit area. And that is currently being delayed until a deal can be reached with the Canadians. Since border areas like Detroit have to share their airwaves with their international neighbors. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Will...there is a difference. I'm not sure why you want to air this publicly. However, he comes in and says and posts exclusively for his first day more than two dozen negative posts with no substance whatsoever. He clearly violated the rules and is definitely trolling. You are an entrenched and trusted member. You don't carpet bomb our site with complaints. You don't actually come to our site to criticise. You offer very productive posts, and occasionally mention your Sprint experiences both good and bad. MasterTruth was a troll. You should not equate yourself to such. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  5. He was visiting from an AT&T Mobility IP address. I don't know if I buy he even was a Sprint customer at all. Not that it matters anymore. He has been banned. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  6. You are correct. Triband devices cannot do simultaneous voice and LTE data. They can only do simultaneous voice and data on WiFi. This true of AT&T and Tmo LTE devices also. They just have the ability to fallback to WCDMA. Sprint plan questions should be posted in General Topics. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  7. The number of antenna panels is irrelevant. Each of those panels is broadcasting different frequencies. They are not broadcasting the same frequencies making a stronger signal. So whether there is one, or 4 panels per sector, it will not give you a stronger/better signal. Sprint used to have two to three panels per sector just for 1900MHz signals. However, Sprint's new Network Vision panels are much more advanced and can combine both 1900MHz and 800MHz antennas in one housing. This is a good thing, not a bad thing. We were harsh with you because you come in and was negative about Sprint for one of the best and advanced things that they do. You made a poor assumption, and then were complaining about it. Most towers are set up with three sectors. The panels are aimed over that sector, to cover 360 degrees. However, signal in between sectors can be reduced, especially as you get farther away from the site. And each sector is supposed to cover 120°, but sometimes they use narrow beam antennas and will reduce the width of the effective range to less than 120°. This is common along highways. This is true of all carriers. 1-2 bars of Sprint 3G signal is still good enough to receive 1-1.5Mbps in most conditions. So the issue likely has nothing to do with your signal strength observed. The problem is most likely that the site you're connected to has not had its backhaul upgraded yet. Backhaul is the site's connection to high speed internet to the Sprint network. If that is slow for any reason, your experience will be slow. Sprint is in the process of upgrading backhaul at ~39,000 sites. Typically when the backhaul is upgraded, LTE will be live at the site too. So when LTE shows up, the 3G speeds are likely going to get much better as well. 8. He already is an AT&T customer. He was accessing the forums from AT&T Mobility IP addresses. He is a troll. And he didn't respond to my warning, except to criticize it. So he has been banned. Robert
  9. You mean your Sprint experiences from your AT&T Mobility IP Addresses? Yes, you are a troll. And you are being sent back under your bridge, where you belong. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Here's the issue. No one can really respond. I have had messages truncated before on all carriers. I've also had messages come out of order before on all carriers. We don't all experience the problem you mention you're having on Sprint. So, really, we cannot help you. It is a common and not unique problem to only the Sprint network. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Your posts today come off as astroturfing. They seem to only be here for one reason. You either need to find a productive way of contributing to the Sprint Network Vision discussion or you will likely not be here very long. And your screen name even gives the feeling of trolling. 13. More panels does not equal better signals. Wow. Why doesn't your favorite radio station have more antenna masts? Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Every time I see an LTE Engineering screen posted, I check to see if it is outside G block. So far, I haven't seen one PCS screen shot outside G Block. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  16. The Rio Rancho store at Southern & Golf Course is also a Corporate store. It is also a repair location. Robert
  17. Seeing how EVDO air link both ways is typically between 60-80ms, that means the backhaul itself was 40-60ms. That's tough to do on burdened T1's. Makes me optimistic. Especially since it is a widespread and sudden thing. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  19. I do have some more Band 26 LTE sites to post in the Premier Section too. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  20. I use a tablet when I'm up there. Delivering announcements or doing the opening teaching. Pretty much the same. I also use a tablet for my bible. I don't think our new church likes that our family uses tablets as bibles. But no one has dared say anything yet. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  21. If these recent 3G tests were indeed on new backhaul, then the only thing to fire up those sites with LTE is for an LTE integration team to get back to the market. This is the most positive news I've heard out of New Mexico in a long time. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  22. I've got a big batch of LA CDMA 800 acceptances to post. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
