idk im going through the same thing they just done a speed upgrade not to long ago here in nicholasville so i thought id go check out the two towers but can not really see what has been done--they do have the corner andtenna with the big tube in the middle of them
There is a little variation how they are deployed on each site, and each vendors panels are slightly different. If you can take a pic and post it in our forums we can help you to identify them. Thanks.

yea i used to get wimax 4g perfect in my house..when i had the OG evo and the evo 3d.. now that i have the evo LTE i only have 3g.. so i cant f ing wait for LTE to be done in RI!! cause my sprint 3g is a joke sometmes.. i hope the 3g gets a lil better also cause i know i wont be keeping LTE on al the time.. 4g does kill the battery fast..
3G improvements are being done with Network Vision/LTE upgrades in Rhode Island. But once you have LTE, the 3G network won't matter much to you anymore.

Do you have a map showing planned LTE sites in the NE Oregon (Hermiston - La Grande) and Southeast Washington (Richland, Kennewick, Walla Walla) areas?
We have maps in our Sponsor section, which show all the sites in the country that will receive NV/LTE upgrades. Including NE Oregon. You can find out more information about how to become a S4GRU Sponsor here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/

Seattle/West Washington Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Any new updates on Seattle? The last four months felt like a year stuck on 3G :-)I'm looking forward to getting speeds similar to what other people from Kansas City post on their speedtest signatures.. Heck, I'd be happy seeing 2Mbps downloads! Unfortunately the 3G speeds have gotten worse here in Washington - its about 50-200kbps these days. Can't even stream spotify on the phone.
Should be starting soon. We are waiting from updates from our members in the field. Keep watching the towers and report any work you see.

Southern Connecticut Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update

Maybe I am unaware but I thought NV was replacing panels and updating the communication "shed" to a smaller one if needed… not new towers.
There are not new towers. But all the equipment, every piece, at each site is being replaced. In Connecticut, that's enough to require complete planning/zoning review and permitting. In many states, it requires nothing at all.

San Diego Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update

We had our first Network Vision site go live in the San Diego market in this week's update. However, it is a brand new site and not a conversion. We are not certain yet if this is the beginning of Network Vision in the market or not. We are cautiously optimistic.

Minnesota Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update

So Robert question for you... I have noticed that when I am driving from Blaine (North of Minneapolis about 20 miles) into downtown Minneapolis I will lose 3g all together and have to turn on airplane mode to get it to kick back on. Is that because of the upgrade going on or something wrong with my phone? I flashed a few different ROM's and it still is happening. Thanks as always
This has occurred to some people in Network Vision markets. It may be related. However, it could be a network issue or something with your device or ROM. It's really hard to say, unless you can get other people to recreate the issue in the same place as you.

Just curious if anyone has foundJust wondering if anyone can report an active LTE connection at all in Minnesota? The network has suppposedly been started this month. I have not gotten LTE anywhere in the twin cities area. Thanks!
There is no active Sprint LTE yet in Minnesota. But this should change in the next few weeks.

Silver Lining for Phoenix and Tucson/Yuma Markets...the schedule appears to be moving up for the Grand Canyon State
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Robert,Im in Tucson AZ and have been waiting for forever for WiMax. Right now I actually have a 4g WiMax signal and some parts of Tucson has small areas of 4g goodness. My question is on network.sprint.com it used to show future upgrades ("next 6 months") and now it doesn't. Furthermore for one weekend on 3g i got 1.4 mbps down and I thought that meant network vision was starting, but after the weekend the speeds returned to a meager 200 kbps. I called sprint and they said they were stopping the upgrades for the next forseeable future. Any ideas on what all this means?
They have removed the future upgrades portion of the Sprint site. Maybe they are going to accelerate Network Vision and push it out to all markets. So band aid fixes aren't going to be needed anymore. But I do not know for certain.

Deal worked out for Japan's SoftBank to purchase 70% stake in Sprint Nextel forming a "New Sprint"
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
If the U.S. insists that SoftBank poses a National Security risk owning a major stake in Sprint, then what do they think of Deutsche Telekom owning a major stake in T-Mobile? Or Vodafone in Verizon? Japan is as close of an ally as Germany and the UK. Chinese firms are a different deal because they are state owned and/or controlled/manipulated.

no LTE yet, 3G appears to have dropped down to less than 600kbps from the 1-2 mbps connections I was getting a few weeks ago. Not sure if its from work on the towers, but hope the technicians are doing something.
I received confirmation this morning that Ericsson is working in the market. First LTE sites will start going live very soon.

Sprint "brings" LTE service to Greater Chicago and Other Communities
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I live in zip code 60487, according to sprint's coverage map it's pretty much 100% covered LTE. If you type in that zip code, there is no LTE connection at all from 80th Ave to 94th Ave, and 171st St to 159th (route 6) (forms a huge square of no coverage). I get coverage outside that block, where sensorly shows purple, but that's a very misleading coverage map on sprint's website.
You won't get any argument from us, either. What you say is true.

I have a question on your dates. When you list the first LTE sites being in December does that mean they will be up and running on those sites around that time or is that when they begin work on the sites?
It is the time the first few sites should be completed and LTE active. Of course, it will take several months from then to have broad coverage. If they start on schedule in the market, then there will be a few sites completed before the end of December.

This is great news. Any updates? And just to clarify, as the 4G infrastructure begins to be built out, will access to 4G happen as towers are installed, configured and connected, or would the new network not be enabled until all infrastructure components are in place?
No updates yet on this market. Work still planned to start this quarter.

Jacksonville Network Vision/LTE Deployment schedule update
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Sprint has been delayed all over Florida. Sprint's subcontractors ran into issues with the EPA and USFWS over Osprey nesting. In order to prevent being fined, they pulled off all work in Florida as a precaution until after the October 1st nesting season ended. So work just started back in Orlando, Tampa, Miami/West Palm, Jacksonville and SW Florida markets just a few weeks ago.
Some sporadic LTE signals will start appearing probably in the next few weeks. Sprint is now working toward trying to have a launchable amount of service in most Florida markets by the end of the year.

Sprint "brings" LTE service to Greater Chicago and Other Communities
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I live and work in Aurora IL and I've gotten nothing so far on my GS3. I took a drive to Lisle yesterday on my lunch break and still didn't get any LTE on my phone. The coverage map above clearly does not reflect the current reality.
Take a look at this map on the Sensorly website: http://sensorly.com/fullscreen/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=aurora,illinois
If the route you took includes purple, then you were in LTE coverage. Sometimes to get it to connect to LTE the first time, you have to cycle through airplane mode. This will cause your device to force scan for LTE. Also make sure you are in CDMA/LTE mode.
If this still does not work when you are in the purple areas (especially the darker purple areas), then there is a problem with your device.

Sprint has a new Airave product out that are free to customers with indoor coverage problems
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
I attempted to get one of these and was told I had to purchase the device and pay a $25 a month access charge. It was $119 for the Airave and then a monthly access charge. Anyway to beat around the bush and get one without being charged? If I stand in the street my service works, if I go in my home, my service is dropped to a bar if I am lucky. I just hate to give up Sprint, as this is my only complaint about their service is at my home. Any input?
I would threaten to leave. Retentions will give you an Airave for free.
