ericdabbs
Is there any evidence that Sprint actually deployed DO-Advanced on its Network Vision towers as part of its "improved 3G" strategy? I thought I remember hearing that DO-Advanced would be part of Network Vision. The benefits of DO-Advanced in terms of network load balancing, smart carrier management, distributed network scheduler and single carrier multi-link features would definitely help the EVDO Rev A network. The article below under the EVDO DO-Advanced confirms that existing Rev A devices back in 2011 could support DO-Advanced since its mainly a software upgrade on the tower side. http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/special-reports/1x-advanced-rev-b-or-ev-do-advanced-cdma-network-migration-path-unclear

It really does not make sense for Verizon or Sprint to spend any additional money on a dead technology with a planned nationwide LTE rollout. Instead I think the focus is going to be on clearing as much spectrum as possible for LTE.
S4GRU
Sprint has said publicly at least once, but I think more than once, that they are upgrading to DO Advanced as a part of Network Vision upgrades. All the work to add DO Advanced capabilities can be achieved with the new base stations being installed, software and at the Sprint's MSC's. Right. EV-DO Advanced is really about network management. It is not the same as EV-DO Rev B and should be transparent to end users. Ascertion
http://s4gru.com/ind...ndpost__p__3726 Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD Is there anymore info on this? Such as when it's expected to roll out? I'm excited about this because EvDo performance doesn't degrade over a distance as much as GSM/LTE technologies do.
