LTE on I-35

Recommended Posts

I was driving to Texas today from Kansas and tried to check out some of Sprints Coverage along I-35.

1. Most of my connections allong the way were eHRPD

2. I connected LTE around El Dorado, KS, South Wichita and Wichita Falls Texas.

3. I did not connect LTE in North Wichita or Oklahoma City

4. Currently in San Angelo, TX and only eHRPD

Note: I was using and EVO LTE so I toggled airplane mode requently..

On the way home to Kansas, I plan on changing the network to LTE only and see what happens.

Also I plan to correlate closer with my daughters iPhone 5. It was picking up LTE in west Wichita Falls that I could not connect to even toggling airplane mode.

where in KC? I get LTE in Overland Park, except around the Sprint Campus.

I sometimes have to toggle my EVO LTE's airplane mode to connect.

Can't wait to read your report. Some say the new updated modem on the GN2 isn't better, but in fact makes it like the S3... I haven't been able to play with it yet. Might be something to look into tho.

So far, I haven't seen any improvements in 3G services in the OKC metro, save one or two sites and I think those were band-aid improvements to backhaul. But I'm hopeful that we'll see some improvements now that 2013 is almost upon us. My upgrade eligibility is January 1st so I can't wait to have a new LTE capable device (I still have a Wimax phone now, which is great only when I'm near one of the 3 OKC protection sites).
