What's is after 4g? Would like to know what's to come for technology in the wireless world.

If you want a number like "5G" or "6G" - that's just marketing garbage.

Nothing fundamentally new, as far as we know. Everything is still under research.

Volte would be the next step but is not an entirely new network technology like the jump from cdma rev a to LTE

Volte is also not going to make the internet speeds faster but LTE advanced comes next.

4G will be around for quite awhile, just as 2G is still around (hopefully going the way of the Dodo very soon) and 3G will be for the next 5-10 years, if not longer. 4G will be enhanced over time, to increase speed or add new functionality. The 5th generation of wireless networks will be fundamental changes to how everything in the network works.
