Metro PCS to be the first with VoLTE

Good editorial about how Metro PCS is really pushing to get VoLTE deployed so it can reallocate its spectrum. At this stage they followed by Verizon, then AT&T, with Sprint bringing up the rear will be set within 2-3 years. Who would of thought that a prepaid had it in them. Oh, I forgot about T-Mobile.

What is it they say? Innovation spawns out of necessity? Metro, with limited spectrum, can benefit greatly from a pure LTE spectrum, the rest of the carriers will also benefit, but most have the spectrum to make a gradual transition. I just wonder what kind of nightmare it would be to roam when your network is pure VoLTE...

MetroPCS is an innovator. Great example of how the small wireless cos push the innovation that forces the hands of the larger wireless carriers. If they only had more spectrum, they could be a contender. That's why a LightSquared or Clearwire wholesale options are very critical for competition.
