  1. Its detectable but not usable signal. They may have used a powered device such as a portable hotspot to create that strip, as they often have stronger radios than a typical smartphone.

Edit, lilotimz may have hit the nail on the head as phones such as the GNEX cause sensorly poison.

Ohhh , that makes sense , thanks , & I never really did like the GNEX .

  2. That sounds pretty spot on with the reports from yesterday, November completion time for NYC with full outdoor coverage by August/September.

Yes, 38,000 cell sites are being entirely overhauled. Probably very little if any new towers will be added; we will see if Softbank has any plans to expand coverage later on down the road.

800mhz will really shine indoors, on today's Sprint 1900 mhz network in building performance is mediocre at best. With the lower frequency and a wider 1x channel in building performance for voice calls, and texts will rival verizon/At&t. Excellent coverage in malls, homes, office buildings, etc. Also, 800mhz is coming to Lte for Sprint...hopefully soon.

They need to expand coverage , I think if Sprint added more towers speeds would be better too .

  3. Not sure I understand your contradicting run on sentence but the Iphone5 is 800SMR capable for 1X. What differs between other Android phones though is the Iphone5 will actively scan for a PCS signal and only use the 800SMR if a PCS signal is not available. Android phones will use the 800SMR all the time providing a more seamless coverage experience.

Maybe Apple will change that in the iPhone 5S , its said to have some serious upgrades .

  4. Yeah the key will be 800. There will be no new towers but evey upgraded tower will be broadcasting a 800 mhz signal so the range of the signal will be larger and stronger so you will get better signals further away from towers with less interferenceand and stonger signals in buildings etc. At&T and Verizon were the only two companies that could broadcast on spectrum that low but now sprint can as well. It will help you roam less and connect to sprint 800 if you have a phone thats compatable. (iphone 5 evo lte s3 or s4 etc.)

The iPhone 5 is compatible with Sprint's 800 idk I had researched it & the information that i found said that the iPhone wasn't compatible .

  5. IIRC, no new towers will be built. However, a majority of towers should be upgraded to support NV-standard 3G/4G.

Do you think Cell signal strength will improve for example , remember I said when I was in between towns Upstate my phone would drop to the extended network will that continue to happen.

  6. Your message states that the other vendors do not care about upgrading 3g and only focus on 4g which is incorrect. All cell sites in every city and rural area is getting 3g/4g upgrades. Vendors just do it in different orders.

So EVERY single cell site that Sprint has is going to upgraded with 3G & 4G is going to be added ? Are they going to build up more towers as well or are they just going to upgrade & leave it at that .

  7. Agreed. I travel a lot and sprint is great every where i go. Had 4g lte in VA in the middle of nowhere (dumpfries) and was getting 28 down and 8 up and great voice mean while on the drive down my brother was complaining about only having edge everywhere and getting dropped calls. The networks dont compare

Yeahh , Sprint's service in the less urbanized areas is good , when I went Upstate NY , I had service most of the time except in between towns , when im not in town service drops to the extended network , the coverage needs to be improved but otherwise speeds were good i mean for legacy towers .

  8. I like how T-Mobile is rolling out their LTE, but coverage it too much of a factor in the U.S. to think about going to them. In many of the EDGE only areas on T-Mobile, Sprint has EVDO that is not heavily loaded. When I went to North Carolina, T-Mobile was giving me about 100 Kbps whereas on Sprint I would get near 2 Mbps speeds at all times.

    Back on topic...

The LTE tower by my school has been giving me great speeds. My friends on Verizon are getting 5Mbps at the most but I am easily getting about 8Mbps while indoors. A few of them are actually switching to Sprint!

Sprint ftw , Verizon is over rated , im pretty sure once Sprint has coverage like Verizon , Verizon will start losing customers .

  9. i really think they should make the data plan like tmobile. make it unlimited no throttling until 5gb, and after 5gb, 3g speed only. I forgot to put wifi on the other day and youtube/netflix ate up so much data.

Throttling sucks , & you said 3G speeds , 3G speeds are nothing special , NV 3G goes from 1.50 to 2.30 from what i've seen I wouldn't want to go from 10 (Providers Varies) to 1.50-2mbps pshh ain't nobody got time fo dat lol .

  10. I've been reading other forums about T-Mobile's LTE but people still think that coverage is the main factor in the U.S. rather than speed. People say they don't think T-Mobile will pass Sprint until it increases coverage and gets sub 1Ghz spectrum, which Sprint has.

True , my friend on Verizon assumes just because she always has LTE that Verizon is better than Sprint . Coverage is always a good thing but it doesn't mean that ur speeds will be fast , Verizon's speeds absolutely suck as a matter of fact on average Sprint LTE will surpass Verizon. From the speedtest i've ran on Verizon their speeds vary from 3-5up & down .

  11.

Sprint will be 100% complete at the end of 2014. They should have upgrades started in every market by the end of 2013. By year's end I would expect to see more dense coverage of NYC, Chicago complete, Puerto Rico and the USVI complete, and then some.

#CheersToThat even tho im not of legal drinking age lol .
