  1. I saw this map, and I am anticipating the release However; I wont be getting a Phone until after the SGIII drops so I can Choose between that and the EVO LTE. Who ever has the best radio is going to get my hands wrapped around it. LOL The one tower that's near 95I am guessing is in the Parkchester area of the Bronx ware in January I received over 1mb up and down on 3G. Phonedog has a review of the SGIII that has my attention not withstanding the specs of 1.9 ff camera 2gigs of ram, and possiblr better radio on paper.....SGIII looks promising!

  2. I hope you won't be disappointed, because if it works like the EVO 3D worked for me on launch day you will have paid for a lemon. I would have waited rather than to have paid for an update and not be happy. You could have waited to make sure there were no bugs, or any other issues rather than to pay to be an early adopter of a bug plagued device and possibly not be happy with it.

Sprinted sent me an early update to buy the EVO 4G LTE, and I passed, for shits and giggles I tried to do that with the SGIII and it says my update isn't until July 1st, thjs is because I exchanged my EVO 3D for the Photon on that date. ROFL

I wont buy anything now until at least august I think...what ever works, and is bug free I will buy. If I want a MM device I can settle for iProducts! ;) lol

  3. We hate pointless posts that violate nearly every one of our posting guidelines. Your post is not only extremely inaccurate, it hurts to read. If there are any other flagrantly pointless and unproductive posts, your account will be suspended.

Please go hate Sprint somewhere else.

  4. I know it. $50 for 500 min period. No contract and buy your own phone; in my case the first Samsung phone ever SPH-1900? and the Qualcomm Q-phone -- remember that? Both phones were bad...real bad!

Bought that junk Startac presidential flip phone 700.00 now its hard for them to let you have a phone no contract even if you buy full price,,,,what a joke I remember those phones especially the Q....remember Sony's phone rofl

  5. Day care is the worst bill to afford. :(

Damn that's so right...not like it was when we were kids just pay the neighbor or a friend. I read somewhere a neghbor reported a neighbor for sitting for her friend of 20 years to the tax man.....now that's hate there rofl!

  6. Were you a part of Sprint when it had GSM in certain parts of the country? I though Sprint PCS did not launch until 1997. Just asking.

You are quite right That is a typo and should be 15 years...I joined the 1st month that they opened!. The main reason to be with them so long is their competitive pricing. As a phone used for business I was spending way more with AT&T and .10 a minute got me to join no hesitation even if I was able to write my bill off they were the best game in town price wise with coverage way better than AT&T then

  7. I am faced with a decision to upgrade now or wait to the end of the year. This will be my last upgrade as a Premier 17 year customer. Since The end of the year may have "better" technology implemented it may not be a bad idea. I like both the EVO 4G LTE, and the SGIII, however radio signal of the best is the one I will buy regardless of user features. That said my Photon has great signal, but poor MFG software support. Antenna wise the EVO probably is better than the Samsung if past data is indicative of future data. lol

One thing for sure is the EVO 3d early buy last year has killed my enthusiasm to buy any thing early since there is only 15 days to discover catastrophic flaws rendering the phone inoperable until a software fix is rendered. So I was thinking that maybe I should wait until years end to buy the most technologically advanced phone to last for 2 years. So far the EVO LTE has SVDO, and "HD voice" edges out the SGIII without "HD voice"

  8. In defense of thirdcoast, he simply stated that he has had no dropped calls. He didn't mention anything about data connectivity and all the posted links were reference a data connectivity issue not voice calls.

No, one person's experience does not negate the experience of a group of others, but in the same manner the vocal group of those with problems doesn't negate the experience of the group who are having no problems. thirdcoast's lack of issues with dropped calls is also a truthful, factual occurence, in his context.

Once the new Galaxy comes out we'll know soon enough if it is really the device it's purported to be. I am excited to see it but I wish I could get a more concrete idea of when it is expected to launch. I am torn between the new Evo and the new Galaxy.

The context of my OP was about the many reported GPS issues, and connectivity that the Samsung variant phones seems to be plagued with; which can lead to dropped calls focusing on the connectivity to CDMA. However; I do agree about him not having any issues not being negated by the claims of issues. The Verizon link has complaints of dropped calls, and I could post many more links that reference that but I don't feel the need. The complaints are so wide spread that even if people report no issues the many complaints and admitted Carrier address fix's cloud the user experience from Samsung for pretty much every CDMA phone that they have sold I have found. If Samsung had great radios they probably rule smart phones no doubt!

I agree about the challenge of deciding which phone and about him not having any issues being negated by the claims of issues, but I think I may go with the EVO, or try to hold for a Galaxy Nexus 3 "if" there are no connectivity issues! I'd like to see what Moto has to offer as well.

  9. Been with the galaxy series since the OG EPIC 4G spanked the Evo, my GS2 hasn't dropped one call in the year I've owned it...just sayin.

Wow....does the fact that You haven't had any issues take away from what has been reported by many thread's of complaints on tech sites. Not to mention many Tech sites reviews state that there is a reception issue with Samsung phones. Be realistic please....I posted a truthful factual occurrence, and if you research I think you will find I speak the truth. The 4.04 upgrade is suppose to fix these little bugs and, I am sure Sprint's connectivity issue is solved or in the works!

  10. benchmarks are done for a reason, and once again Samsung outdoes HTC, by EPIC MILES IN EVERY AREA...12mp rear camera, 2mp front, EXYNOS quadcore processor confirmed fixed and U.S LTE compatible, pentile screen really a bad thing when held side by side as the gs3 display STILL shames ltevo...the only plus to evo is the kickstand it has that its gonna need to stand in the same Galaxy as gs3. was at unpacked event in London, and have had major phone wood ever since...nevermind ltevos aluminum shell that will aid in overheating that irremovable battery vs. gs3 space shuttle like ceramic casing to keep it cooler...cant wait to buy my gs3

All of this may very well be true until you decide to make a phone call. There have been so many reported Galaxy/Samsung radio GPS problems that I say let the buyer beware. Look at that drama with Verizon, and Sprint radio issues. CDMA and Samsung don't mix well for some reason......looks good but dropped calls due to poor signal connectivity makes it just a multimedia device!

  11. I've been on 4.0.4 since February. The upgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 is not a google thing. It's a Verizon thing. http://www.gottabemo...y-nexus-update/ For the life of me, I don't know why Verizon ever wanted the GNex. They like their phones locked down and laden with bloat. Now that Sprint has the GNex, Verizon will have to keep pace on updates or they will look awfully silly.

This is true, and today is the day of official updates a to 4.04 according to most tech sites that i read. In the XDA forums many people have not received that 4.04 release and I am sure as of the 1st of may should now be getting it. I hear there is a 4.05 already rofl.

  12. I was aware of a couple bugs right after release that were promptly fixed, but I was not aware of anything else that hadn't been addressed.

Google Verizon Gnex or go to XDA or any other forum!

  13. Technically the Galaxy Nexus was released in the US 15 December 2011, so I guess one might say it is last year's phone. If you want to look at it that way, the Nexus S is a 2 year old phone, and beat every last one of last year's CDMA phones to the punch with their ICS upgrade.

What I consider "last year's phones" is anything built around Gingerbread and having to upgrade to ICS and "make it work" with the new OS. You'll always find some things that don't work the best when you upgrade the OS.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Well that is true that the Nexus S got the latest OS ICS before others; however I mentioned that that was one of the main reasons for getting the phone in the first post. Again, the GNex CDMA seems to lag for bug support as I mentioned as well.

  14. That really depends on the phone. The Galaxy Nexus is a flagship phone. The Evo Shift was also built last year and discontinued a few days shy of a year old. Even though it's last year's phone, it's worse than being last years tech.

It is a flagship phone however the plagues that Verizon had seems to suggest other wise. I think it is a great phone, but the CDMA version won't be supported likes the GSM version according to post from Google tech themselves. Just from the Tech specs it seems from all the reviews that the One X bested the Galaxy Nexus, and the EVO LTE is expected to do the same. Software wise the Gnex may have an advantage, but in two years no one will really notice this when 800mhz LTE phones hit the streets. Now I'd get the EVO LTE or something newer down the line unless I was interested in the ASOP, and future OS updates!

  15. The nexus S just got ICS in April. We can differ on the fact of whether it is last year or not; However manufactured in 2011 seems pretty much like last year if you ask me.!

  16. I have researched both phones and own neither, but realistically why go with last years phone. Yeah it may receive updates faster than other phones but so far the CDMA phones don't get this perk. Then the EVO 4GLTE has HD Voice, SVDO and according to the reviews has a better looking screen The Nexus is responsive like one user said but then again so is the EVO. The only reason to buy the Nexus is developer love because it is already out dated solid phone or not. The One X variant is faster, better screen, better camera, better looking and is the phone to beat today.
