Sprint releases plenty of devices that are essentially guaranteed to never sell well. They can definitely afford to host one device that will only have slight demand.
If nothing else, they can simply replace the Q10 with this, and it won't otherwise effect their lineup in any way.
Although I wish they would jump on the Passport instead. Definitely the better device, its a shame it only released for AT&T.
We'll surely have to wait and see. They do have the option to pick up later, but I'm thinking they won't.

Was disappointed to find out today that Sprint wasn't announced as one of the carriers for the Classic.
I love the Q10… but Sprint really needs a tri-band/Spark-capable BlackBerry. Is there anyone at Sprint that I can contact about this?
I'm already going to tweet to Sprint Care. Got any other ideas?
Thanks

The U.S. demand for Blackberry on CDMA/LTE carriers has to rise extensively for that to happen. It's just not there anymore. Sprint can't afford a device that will only have slight demand. They're looking for either really cheap devices or flagship devices.
Edit: To make a point, here are two valid quotes from The Verge
The Classic has a square, 720 x 720 pixel, 3.5-inch touchscreen perched above the keyboard and navigation keys. It's a bit smaller than the 4.5-inch screen on the Passport, and much smaller than the average smartphone's display, but it makes it possible to use the Classic in one hand and still have the physical QWERTY keyboard. The phone is powered by an aging dual-core Qualcomm processor from 2012 paired with 2GB of RAM. That likely won't cut it for modern mobile gaming, but it should be fine for plowing through thousands of emails a day, which is what BlackBerry expects Classic users to do. There's an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the phone, with a 2-megapixel unit on the front.
............................
Appropriately, BlackBerry announced the Classic in the heart of New York's Financial District, an area of the country where BlackBerry smartphones are still a fairly common sight. Perhaps even more so than the Passport, the Classic isn't a device that's going to appeal to the mainstream smartphone consumer, but rather it's for people who like BlackBerry devices and aren't looking to browse the web or play a lot of games on their phones. BlackBerry hasn't been on the minds of consumers for years, so now the company is doubling down on its core business users, and the Classic looks like the strongest play for that field yet.

Has anyone else encountered this. When someone send me messages over Google hangouts sometimes, not as SMS or MMS but as straight data, for some reason sometimes the messages will take up to like 20 mins before they pop through. Now if I open the app and check, they will come in right then. It doesn't do it all the time, only sometimes. Anyone else experienced this?

You can add me to the list of users with SMS/MMS issues.
- Use EvolveSMS for SMS/MMS. Extremely long delay sending messages (if they send), not receiving some and MMS is a whole other beast of problems.
- Google Voice is set up with my GV number but to handle Voicemail for my main number.
- Hangouts isn't associated with either SMS/MMS or Voicemail.

The Sprint Tower serving me is located on Basil-Western Road in Canal Winchester.
I am receiving B41 signal. I have my hotspot set to receive channels in this order B41, B26, B25.
Did these 3 speedtests within 5 minutes of each other... Any thoughts? Should I let it choose the channel automatically? I have my hotspot tethered to a Pepwave Router.
I took these readings within minutes of each other.
I think your Band settings are good enough for now. You'll eventually want to go to B41/B25/B26 but you'll want people to level out onto other bands once they get Tri-band Devices.

Google Chrome + Chrome Extensions - Google Translate for the win!my mind...just got blown....

I'm glad we live in a society that allows you to express the true nature of your sexual orientation. I still recommend he put the iPhone somewhere the sun doesn't shine, but this time I'll suggest he put it securely inside his desk so he isn't so distracted at work. Better?
* I do support homosexual unions and legalization of MJ for medical*
Since I feel your "Better?" comment is a publicly sarcastic response to my warning, let me publicly say, enjoy your week suspension from S4GRU. Hopefully when you return you'll have a better attitude.
Let this show to all members that the staff at S4GRU does not care what your member title is. Everyone must follow the rules.

The only thing i can determine from videos on youtube and some small research is they have alot of 2.5GHz Spectrum
They do have 4G LTE (what version i have no idea)
They run a 3G Network on EVDO Rev B with what looks like 2 carriers because the speed tests i have seen all get over 6Mbps.
uhhh thats it. i cant read Japanese so thats all i got.
I would like to know about their plans, pricing, data allowance or if they are unlimited.
Just read it in English

Their Band 41 2.5GHz TD-LTE network is no different than what we have here.

I'm pretty sure we have these forums already.
Not to mention the 5 shouldn't be coupled with the 5s and 5c. This will be moved, migrated and edited in the morning.iPhone 5s/5c User Thread. It just has a different title but same place.
There isn't a iPhone 5 thread, but I'm guessing that's because of demand, but I'll let this roll as iPhone 5 thread.

The WiMax side of the dual radios is being shut down. They're already relabeled with Sprint Cascade IDs. They'll be upgraded at an unknown future date to 8T8R and some of those will add the rest of Network Vision at an unknown future date.Since Sprint is currently deploying 8T8R sites, will this mean the end for the current WiMax/LTE dual sites? I noticed that some Clearwire sites are offline in the Bay Area(LTE only) or have these sites been given a Sprint own network ID?

I've been a Sprint customer for almost 15 years now, not sure I ever came across a situation where I referred to Sprint's coverage as shitty.
Hey, watch your language!

dope I didnt know how shitty Sprint coverage was until I seen this. I like to know the tech behind the scenes cause it makes sense of the shitty end user experience. So now how do I find details of updates and what not locally? And I ask again how do I get " THE FORUMS" passcode?
First, let me say welcome to S4GRU.com. We're glad you joined and are here to help further your knowledge on Sprint's Network Vision projects.
Second, if you could turn it down a little on the unnecessary cursing. Yes this is the internet and yes you'll even find your exact words through out this very forum (even by Moderators and Admin), but please help us out here trying to stick to the PG-13 rating.
Content. S4GRU is not geared to the the general public, but rather to wireless enthusiasts who are generally adult aged. However, anyone may come along and read your comments, including children. Do the released FCC docs show the lab RF performance? I'm getting the implication that the lab performance is poor?
They don't show poor. They show promising but everything comes down to real world testing. Not lab.

Agreed.I don't want to hear anything. I disagree with your perception. I am OK with that. I am not someone that needs to win the Internet. You have posted your view on it, I respectfully disagree. I just don't feel the need to go back and forth further. The thread gains nothing by both of us posting the same disagreement repeatedly.

Does anyone know if Apple will replaced an unlocked Sprint phone with another?

Hello, I'm pretty sure Apple is going to replace your device with the same as what you purchased. Any additional unlocking will have to be repeated on your end.
