Wow.. this definitely competes with tmobiles international calling plans for the most part. This is pretty big.
I disagree. T-mobile gives unlimited international data/text on GSM. This is WIFI only.

My friends on tmobile seem very satisfied with their service, even ones that switched from AT&T . One of them is a sales rep and travels all over the state. I doubt she is a heavy data user.

Do they come back and optimize B25 sites at some point? We have some very strong B25 sites, and other that have such low range that they are unusable after just a few blocks. Was wondering if these will get revisited at some point ?

Is the Framily plan going away completely on August 22?
No.The Framily plan still remains available; however, Sprint will focus our promotional marketing efforts on the new Sprint Family Share Pack.
That should answer your question.
That is what they say, but go to the Sprint site as a new customer and try to start a new Framily plan. I couldn't find any way to do it after adding a phone to the cart. Only option available was the new plan.
By not going away, I'm starting they mean existing plans can stay and be joined, but you can't start a brand new one. Maybe you can in store. ? Hopefully one of our Sprint members can clarify.

I don't recommend any of the major carriers, the frugal side of me almost always recommends MNVOs. They seem like a much better deal to me, at least for individuals. I should add that most people who ask me about wireless providers are low data users, because the high data users already know where they want to go.
Sometimes I get asked specifically about Sprint, since they know I'm using it, and I'll tell them my experience, and what I know from this site as far as the NV buildout.
One thing that I think is really undersold is the fact that Sprint can roam to Verizon. My friends who are switching wireless carriers are always amazed when I tell them this information.

Honestly I haven't seen substantially better propagation on T-Mobile LTE in band 4 and Sprint LTE in band 25 around these parts, CDMA power limits or no. Band 26 propagation around here is no better than band 25 (unlike in the Atlanta market, where I can tell a big improvement compared to band 25 only coverage in areas I mapped before), but I don't think Ericsson has calibrated around here yet since there are still numerous nearby 1900-only sites in the Georgia market to upgrade first.
Here in Phoenix I find that Band 25 LTE is unusable once you get past -110dBm , where T-Mobile Band 4 works well even at -115 dBm I'm not sure if this is a 1700 vs 1900 propagation issue, or a tuning difference.

Sprint says that the Framily plan is not going away, yet playing around on their shopping site, I can't find any way to start a new one.
Is it not going away in terms of existing ones can stay but no new ones, or is it possible for someone to start a new plan ?

I upgraded to a LG G3 on SERO. No issues. Just ordered it through the Sprint website.
-
Considering how long people have had some REALLY damn old plans here I would guess you are fine for quite a while.
A lot of us are still on SERO and this new plan won't get anyone to switch off of it. SERO is $55/mo with a subsidized phone and unlimited data. I hope it never goes away.

They must've written this this morning. They took a shot at magenta's recruiting offer in it.
Edit: Dang. Beaten to the post again.
I wonder if they accelerated the announcement by a day once TMo made their's?
I believe that announcing the family plan first, and then waiting to announce the individual plan was intentional so that they could judge competitors reactions and adjust..

If your already on unlimited you get a $10 statement credit

But much simpler.Recruit people and save? Sounds like framily...

I should add all you guys bitching that this doesn't work for you thats fine. Sprint isnt making you switch. These plans are meant to entice att and verizon customers that already are on plans like this. We were told several times that if customers dont like the plans to reenforce that sprint is honoring our unlimited guarantee and we are happy to keep them on framily/my way/data 1500.
Also its obvious new unlimited individual plans are coming so possibly you might like that better.
It seems like these plans are made to entice Verizon and ATT customers who are high data users. The problem is that people who are high data users on Verizon/ATT and switch to Sprint will not be happy with the network performance. Sprint needs more time to complete LTE upgrades before trying to woo away heavy data users from ATT/Verizon. There is no point in pulling over a customer that you're just going to lose. One you do that, they will likely never come back for a 2nd try.

Can T-Mobile phones roam to AT&T?

Don't need to be on 800, just reporting what I observed.Do you need to be on 1x800? Are you in bad service areas. That is the only time 1x800 is needed. And rural.

My LG G3 used to be on 1x800 a lot in my town, but something changed, probably a PRL update, and now I never see it switch to 1x800 anymore.

The idiot CEO strikes
From twitter...@JohnLegere: To paraphrase @Sprint CEO's 1st employee meeting today:"Our network is terrible, so we're going to have to slash prices" #didthatjusthappen?
Which CEO is the idiot?
-
If Sprint drops prices any more, I will probably make sense to finally move off SERO

Thanks Mike. Is there any way to tell if I'm connecting to an Airave vs a Sprint tower ?

No potential customer cares about NV equipment being installed or not, they care about LTE coverage or not. They don't care if the slow 3G network sucks a little less because NV equipment is installed, the bar is 'is there good 4G' coverage.'
