The G3 would have been nearly a perfect phone if they had skipped the QHD screen and stayed with 1080p with 2 days of battery life

Yeah, I read a bunch of the threads over on XDA, sound like several people are having problems with this ROM because it's built off the international GSM firmware and not CDMA. It's probably saver to run a ROM that someone created from the Sprint variant.
At this point, I'll probably just keep it stock until there is a good Android 5.0 based ROM available.

So you spend $480 and at the end of 2 years you don't own the phone? That's seems like a poor financial decision. You can go on eBay today and buy a new in box clean esn s5 for $420 or less and own it. In 2 years if you want a new phone you can sell the s5 and probably get $200 for it.

Im using Lux and have since the day I got it. My next heavy use day Ill show you a SS. Im even using some performance tweaks too. But I'm also rooted and running Cloudy G3.

How is Cloudy G3 working for you? I just bumped my phone, and will try flashing that ROM.. Hopefully will get a good bump in smoothness and battery life.

That's a bummer.. As far as I can tell WiFi calling includes sms and it all works well.Which you can't do on business lines.

I've really wanted to like tmobile. I've tried switching a few times but ended up canceling. First time was for zero bars in my lab at work, second was for no data coverage at our cabin. Here in Phoenix Sprint LTE coverage is starting to match Tmo. Tmobile still has better speeds but it's not enough of a difference in real world use to make up for the other lack of coverage . I do really like how they basically changed the entire wireless industry with their uncarrier movement.

With sprint autopay can't you just give them a credit card? Get a well Fargo visa, use it for autopay, get the sprint fee waved and pick up free phone insurance at the same time. Win win.

I get 12 hours with 8 SOT, I dunno what poor battery life you had but this phone is awesome in all departments. Except there is no CM yet

Are you using auto brightness? I've never heard of anyone getting 8 hours SOT. All the reviews I've read where they actually tested the phone get about 4-5 max, which is what I'm seeing as well. Standby is great, but as soon as the screen is on, I can watch the battery gauge drop.

Yes it works for text. You can use this to recieve text messages right?
When travelling internationally, how does one make sure you can recieve and send texts and calls and not be charged international rates?
An even better solution is to enable full Google voice integration and use hangouts for SMS which will be delivered over data or cellular.

Let me know if you need another beta tester on Android 5

They waive the charge if you sign up for autopay and ebill, so it all seems like a non issue. I'm not on Asl so maybe I'm missing something?

I'd love a separate audio alert for B41/26 for those of us I'm Spark markets that are being built out. I'm always watching for new B41 towers and have to leave the signal check screen on as I drive around and glance at the phone today.

They are $59.99 shipped from Amazon FYI.If someone needs of a brand new unopen cable modem I have a D-Link DCM-301 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem for $65. I have no need for this and would rather sell it to someone here, then on eBay.

Where Apple got it wrong IMHO is they should have made the phone like the Nexus 5/6 and included all radios so I could buy an iPhone direct from Apple, and it on at least Sprint/TMO/ATT.
They made the right decision not going QHD. That said, 4K videos on youtube come across to the G3 in 1440P and they do look awesome in that resolution, you can tell a difference between that and 1080p for sure, but I still don't think its worth the battery life.
Maybe in the future when most video is 4K it will be worth it. I think QHD is here to stay now that the note 4 went there. I just hope we don't get into a resolution pissing contest with 2015 phones coming with 4K displays and horrible battery life.

I have a G3 and don't recommend it. Battery life is poor because of the unnecessary quad HD display. Phone is also laggy. I also prefer the size of my nexus 5 when it comes to putting the phone into my front jeans pocket.

No debt is the way to go. If you have to get a loan for a car, you can't afford the car. Same goes for.. Anything else.
If you have debt, follow the Dave Ramsey plan and get rid of it.
I paid cash for my used car. I. Could have afforded new but why? Used meant I didn't have to pay sales tax here in AZ, that saved $2500 alone not even counting the depreciation when you drive off the lot.
Same reason a lot of us are with Sprint and sero. We are cheapskates and proud of it

Was there a deductible?

I had a N5 replacement 4 days after I got it for my wife. She dropped it and cracked the screen. Paid the $100 and got a new phone the next day. Better than paying $400 for another phone.
I think this is the best part about the TEP insurance- immediate phone replacement for those who can't be without a phone for even a day.
I've worked around this by keeping a spare N5 around just in case my primary phone goes out, but if you don't have a spare phone, insurance is a must, or you might be without a phone for weeks.

It's carrier unlocked for sure. I have to get my TMO sim from my daughters phone and try it.

When you say your phone can do this now, it's probably good to know for sure
Where did you hear it's unlocked? Usually Sprint phone are unlocked for International SIMs but not for other domestic carriers.
Also, from the LS990 specs, it doesn't appear that the Sprint G3 contains LTE bands for any other US carriers other than Sprint, so even if it was domestically unlocked , best we can get is 3G on other carriers.
The Nexus 5 is unlocked for all carriers, and has the correct LTE bands for TMO, ATT. It would be great if you discover that the G3 is the same way, but from what I read, it's not.

Will Sprint eventually adopt Softcard (formally Isis Wallet) instead of just Google Wallet?

I've read that softcard can be loaded with a credit card, which makes it a good option for racking up reward points. Shame it's not available on Sprint, and it doesn't work on T-mobile pre-paid or iPhones either.
