Tempted to put a ticket in for the Rural/Ray tower. It's incredibly weak, you can only get LTE if your practically standing next to it. Even sensorly maps confirm that it's range is very limited.
-
Nexus 5 on Sprint. Happened with previous phones as well, it's not the phone.
-
Is the tower at 101/Chandler still having issues or is it fixed?

I've had a long time intermittent problem with google voice integration. About 25-30% of call I originate have a problem, basically this:
I dial a number, but instead of hearing ringing I hear my own voice echoing in my ear.
The person I dialed phone rings, and if they answer, they hear nothing.
I have to hang up and try the call again, sometimes 2-3 times before it works correctly.
If I disable GV integration, this problem goes away completely.
Anyone else seen this? On another public forum, I saw someone post about the exact same problem, but there was never a resolution posted.

I'm seeing really weak output from some of the newer lte towers. A few blocks away and you lose it. Even sensorly shows that the strong signal area is only right next to the tower. Ray/rural is one example. Also ray and i10

These phones shut off before the battery actually runs completely empty. Also the battery on the N5 is so inexpensive and easy to change that I don't worry about causing it damage.

Mine is in a case and I added a tempered glass screen protector. Guess I'm paranoid

200mb... is.... hilarious.
May it seem like much but it's enough to keep email synced and use Google maps.. Price is right, so for free, why not enable it.
-
Just to make it clear to us all, do they or do they not have your credit card info?
They do not have my credit card into. If you hit 200mb it just stops working until the next month.

So I'm traveling to a lot of these countries this summer on vacation. Should I bring a CDMA or GSM phone with me ?
-
I apologize for making an assumption. Its just that the true GSM fanboys always use the line about GSM being the world standard.
Is gsm the world standard or is there cdma in wide use as well?

Grooveip, google voice.. Not the same thing as having fully integrated wifi calling and SMS like T-mobile has. It's totally seamless, you don't have to change any of your habits to use it, works anywhere in the world where you have wifi. Hopefully Sprint's solution will be just as tightly integrated and available.

Why have this restriction at all? This calling should be allowed to work in Africa. Why limit something useful.

This was always magentas awesome feature. Great that it's coming to Sprint. Be good if it worked everywhere because when traveling overseas it's a perfect solution.

Yeah, the problem is "just go away" is exactly what over a million Sprint customers did last year and a boatload of them went to magenta. As much as tmobile isn't liked around here, they are doing something right Everyone here knows that Sprint has the better network (or will). Once you have a customer and lose them because of a negative experience, it's 2X as hard to get that customer back when NV is complete.
Verizon can afford to be a bit more arrogant with "not our phone" because they have a huge customer base and a network that rocks. I like what Sprint did with Framily , and getting the N5 on their network. I hope they start to see customer bleeding stop in 2014 and post some gains.
-
I don't want to go magenta.. As a stock holder, I want Sprint to make it easier to be a customer with phones they don't sell. All of this b.s. about not being able to track down SIMs for the N5, or not activating phones that are 100% compatible with their network, but they just don't like who sold it, needs to change. If it's a nexus 5, they should be able to barcode scan the IMEI and enter it in their allowed database. The whole business of pre-loading serial numbers seems stupid.
off my soap box

My point exactly... they should have open arms especially for a phone that is 100% designed for their network...down to many processes in the background that they require.
Something tells me T-Mobile would have no problem activating a N5 sold by Sprint
-
I'd have to pay for personal hotspot, this is free. By the way , it auto-renewed itself, and still working great. I haven't paid them a penny and they don't even have my CC info.

Sprint should not make it difficult to become their customer.

Can you buy from Best Buy if you have a SERO line that is out of contract?
