  1. Technically, this is an add-on to your already existing voice plan. This would be awesome if you could put it in a hotspot :)

P.S. Here's an article stating the real terms for the free 200

    http://www.tmonews.com/2013/11/t-mobile-clears-up-and-reiterates-free-data-for-life-200mb-tablet-deal/

No, it's not.. This is from your article.

    Q. If I buy a tablet device outright, do I need a service payment relationship with T-Mobile?

    A. No. Bring it in to us or buy it in full from us and we’ll get you on the network where you’ll get 200MB of free data (plus SIM card purchase), every month, for as long as you own your device

  2. I do not condone the antics of the stores. But, if the Tmo sim is $10 online, that seems more than fair. Giving a sim to someone who is a customer is different than giving a sim to someone who is not a customer.

I am a customer, I own an ipad 2 3g.. Keep your moral opinions to your self and keep the discussion on topic.. Thanks.

  3. The store wouldn't give me one, and gave me the link about needing a voice plan. They are $10 online.

I cheated and went to the apple store, told them I needed a replacement T-Mobile sim for my ipad, then went home and put it in my nexus 7 ;)

  4. Put a T-mobile sim in my Nexus 7 2013, and was able to sign up for the 200mb of free data. Sure it's not a lot, but the price is right, and it's enough to sync email or look something up when you're away from a Wifi zone.

I had 2 different T-mobile employees (one phone, one store) tell me that a phone plan was required for the free data. This is not true, I have it working, and Sprint is my phone provider. I have no T-mobile accounts. Just get a T-mobile sim, and you're good to go.

  5. Except that's not the problem. The signal was usable even though it was weak. Now you don't have the option to use it.

Mine locks on to a -110 or worse LTE signals friendly. It's particularly bad in Phoenix because we are early into the LTE deployment. I finally had to just put the phone into 3G only and leave it in order to have reliable data. It probably have to stay this way until a lot more towers broadcast LTE than there are today.

  6. Another issue I'm curious if other people are seeing.  Tapatalk 4 is hanging a lot on the Nexus 5 when trying to read S4GRU. I can't say it's a kitkat issue, because it seems to work ok on my N7.

This is when connecting to Wifi, so it's something to do with tapatalk on the N5..   Anyone else seeing this ? It's annoying when trying to keep up with this forum from the phone. :)

  7. Can the N5 be switched between Sprint and say , T-mobile and then back again as often as I want without having to change a bunch of phone settings?

On a straight GSM phone this seems straight forward, but with Sprint CDMA settings, I wonder if it would get weird and have some drama getting it going on Sprint again?

  8. I'm on 4.4 and in my opinion it connects to weak LTE signals too much. At home it flips over to a -116 strength LTE signal which is unusable. Happens all over town. In Phoenix we are only about 15‰ deployed so connecting to weak LTE signals is a big problem and I have to force the phone to 3g if I want consistent mobile data. Maybe 4.1.1 was an over correction for this issue.

  9. On getting a sim, I originally tried the worldwide chat method but was denied when they looked up my account and saw in was a SERO customers. Something about me having to talk to the business reps.

I think local corporate owned store will be best bet for most people. Try to figure out which of your local stores is the 'repair center' in the area. At least they will know what your talking about. My Chandler, AZ store told me that had a 'good' supply of Sims.

  10. I walked into my local sprint store with nexus 5 still in box. Handed it to the rep and said hi, please activate this for me. They popped in a sim and a few minutes later I left with a working phone.

A few things that might help. Go to a real sprint store, not an authorized reseller. Also the sprint store by me is one of their repair centers. If nothing else start calling all the stores in your area.

  11. I have seen this too. Although it doesn't happen every time.

Google voice integration has issues they have never fixed. The biggest one is I make a call, it rings the persons phone but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. I also hear myself echoing in my ear at the same time.

This happens on my gs3, I haven't switched to the nexus yet. I gave up on integration because it was a big problem.

  12. Have you tried activating it on Sprint while having a T-Mobile LTE SIM installed yet?

My Nexus 4 had awful battery life. The Nexus 5 appears way better. However, I'm sure it will not be on par with 3,000mah battery devices.

  13. I used Tmo and ATT SIM cards in my Nexus 4 interchangeably. I'm hoping Sprint will be no different.

The heck with switching SIMS, I want to activate it on Sprint CDMA and Tmobile LTE at the same time.

Side note, I assume Sprint will be providing LTE sims?

  14. This phone could be a game changer IF I can active the CDMA on Sprint, and have a t-mobile LTE datacard in it.

I live in an area where Sprint is still building out LTE, so if this phone could use Sprint for voice, and able to accept a Tmobile or AT&T pre-paid monthly GSM LTE sim, seems like it would give us a great work-around until Sprint's LTE is fully deployed.

    Thoughts?
