  1. i think the speed is improving at home. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/99814544/2013-05-29%2022.04.32.png
  2. wow. that will be awesome. what will be theoretical maximum download speed? I had really good wimax reception so hopefully it will reflect on 2500mhz LTE.
  3. question guys. will clearwire 2500mhz LTE also be 5x5?
  4. i really think they should make the data plan like tmobile. make it unlimited no throttling until 5gb, and after 5gb, 3g speed only. I forgot to put wifi on the other day and youtube/netflix ate up so much data.
  5. i would wait until they release triband LTE phone.
  6. man, only if my phone has the capabilities of triband LTE.... not really sure why tmobile had the authority to put a dormant LTE chip in the note 2 but Sprint cannot put a dormant 800/2500mhz LTE chip on the phones that has been sold last few months. All I have to wish for is new people getting 800/2500mhz capable phones to offload on 1900mhz band for the next year and a half.
  7. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sprint-unveils-tri-band-4G-LTE-broadband-devices-to-release-them-in-the-summer_id43258 "Sprint unveils tri-band 4G LTE broadband devices, to release them in the summer" "Sprint has used the ongoing CTIA conference as a stage to announce a bunch of 4G LTE broadband devices that will become available to the carrier's clients sometime this summer. The three devices are the MiFi 500 LTE by Novatel Wireless, NETGEAR Zing Mobile Hotspot and NETGEAR 341U USB Modem. Sprint is especially proud of the fact that these will be its first tri-band 4G LTE devices, meaning that they will be able to connect to the three LTE bands that happen to be within reach of the nation's third-largest carrier: 800 MHz, 1.9 GHz and 2.5 GHz. According to Sprint, such kind of advanced connectivity will make the LTE experience with these devices significantly better, with noticeably stronger in-building coverage. Now the only problem that seems to remain between Sprint and world domination is the LTE network's spotty coverage. That's something that Sprint doesn't have an answer for right now, but here's a map if you'd like to check whether you are among the few lucky ones."
  8. yea I agree. but 99 percent of the time we do not leave the city and Tmobile has great HSPA+ speed and now deploying LTE fast. I have to say that at least in urban areas like nyc, tmobile is actually very competitive. However, i still have good faith in 800mhz/2500mhz LTE on sprint for the long run. I have a question. will 800mhz LTE on sprint will take as long as deploying 1900mhz LTE or is it just turning on the switch by a software?
  9. DId they already upgraded the backhaul for hspa+?
  10. Yea I noticed also. I wonder their building penetration though. Hspa+ had really good building penetration but not not sure how their lte will hold up. As far as sprint's lte building penetration, I think there is a room to improve.
  11. Is 3g also being worked for 800mhz or is it just 1x and lte?
  12. yea. i noticed that getting GPS is the biggest challenge.
  13. I have a question. I really have horrible reception at work. My office is in literally the middle of the building (2nd floor, middle section of the floor) and the build has been renovated but seems like the foundation of the building is really old. I can get 4g anywhere inside the building but very weak 3g only in my office. Since I have Airave unit I no longer need at home (thanks sprint; 1-2 bar 1X, 0.1mbps 3g speed has gone up to 4-5 bars with freaking awesome 3g speed -80dbm and 95-100 RSRP LTE 3-10mbps download), I have a plan to bring the Airave to my office. Would that be okay with sprint since it will be connected to non home network? Not sure how the firewall at work will do to the unit but its worth a try I think.
  14. 3g has gotten much better in little neck queens. I didn't know 50ms ping with 1mbps speed is so much better than 150-200ms ping.
  15. What about tmobiles approach? Throttle users when they reach certain amount of data used per month. 5gb sounds reasonable and they go above 5gb,only be able to use 3g until the month expires
  16. yea thanks. I am not a huge tech guru so I will just turn off 4g until i see significant improvement during commuting time. Do you guys know how far at&t went with their LTE? there was someone with iphone 5 on the 7 train and they phone was on 4G, rather than LTE for the entire ride. Maybe it was iphone 4s.. not sure. but I know my coworker complained that LTE is pretty spotty for at&t in Queens.
  17. is there a android software or a work around the setting to shuts off 4g when signal reaches around 105rsrp? train ride is fucking ridiculous when my phone connects to LTE when signal is almost non-existing and my phone for some reason does not like to change the signal to 3g. I know how to turn off the 4g but it requires rebooting the phone. hope these issues are gone when more towers are with LTE.
  18. http://db.tt/VZphHgYT Awesome speed at home. This is around 97 rsrp.
  19. It looks like almost all towers nearby my apartment have been lte ready. Problem is I get evdo rf of around 80 rssi but lte hovers around 100 rsrp. Not sure if all the towers are upgraded fully but is this all I will get? Speed is around 5mbps download on average. Although the room thats is facing the towers gets around lte signal of 90 rssi with 10+mbps download speed. Funny thing is the signal from the closest tower gives me 105rsrp and the tower I get best reception is further away. I guess it all depends on where the tower is facing.
  20. Have 6 towers with lte but getting okay signal at home. The towers are all in one mile radius.100 rsrp
  21. I have no idea where tmobile is with lte completion in nyc. Sensorly shows that they have some in lic but not a good indication. Not sure about the penetration though. Tmobile has lower frequency
