1. Hello again SpenceSouth. I am still having issues with my app, even after the recent patch. Again, when the app detects LTE, and the 'auto repeat' setting is not checked, it takes me to the GPS list screen. As soon as I click 'Back' or 'Go to home page' to go to the main screen, my phone immediately goes to Airplane mode. The simplest workaround I've been using is to check the 'auto repeat' option, which keeps the app From going to the GPS screen when LTE is detected. I can then click 'Stop' to keep the phone from counting down to the next scan. Again, this behavior only happens when the app detects LTE. So, if I click 'Back' at the GPS screen, after losing LTE, the app doesn't start the immediate Airplane Mode. My phone is a stock 16gb Galaxy S3, running stock Sprint JB 4.1.1, rooted, with no antivirus SW, etc. I cleared the app data, tried force closing the app, etc, with no change. If there is any way for me to help troubleshoot this for you, let me know. Or, if there are any suggestions you may have, I'm willing to do some work to get this resolved... As for new features, I mentioned adding a setting/option to start scanning for LTE automatically, when the app is running and the LTE connection is lost. I currently do this manually when I am 'War Driving', or searching for coverage to map... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
2. I mapped there the other day(Monday morning I believe). I wasn't sure if the coverage was from the tower at I275 & Bears, as that older tower does/did reach that same area. However, when I got ~15mbps down at Dale Mabry & Van Dyke, I suspected another tower had gone live. It is likely the tower transmitting LTE is the one I saw being inspected a few weeks ago, just S of that intersection. Though, I haven't had the time to explore the area. I work down the road from there, so I may do some mapping tomorrow. I just hope my job doesn't mind me taking a extended lunch... Sent from my Galaxy S III
3. It was broadcating LTE around 9AM today. It seems that newly turned on LTE towers get switched on and off randomly. I wouldn't get too worried about it. That definitely happened with the Land O Lakes LTE tower, and possibly also the I275/Bearse Ave LTE tower... Sent from my Galaxy S III
4. I suspect that I could have driven farther N on I75 and farther E and W on SR52. But it was late. I'd basically gone as far as I had time to... Also, my earlier tracks were on Sensorly well before my late night mapping drive. Sent from my Galaxy S III
5. I couldn't wait, so I just did a huge Sensorly mapping drive around the unmapped areas of the tower at SR54 & I75... The data should be showing up on Sensorly as I type.. Sent from my Galaxy S III ** Had to edit the post in a web browser, after TapaTalk butchered it...
6. I did a little more mapping of the new tower at SR54 & I75. I started on SR54 near the Land O Lakes tower area, then headed East on SR54. I made one loop of the area, then headed towards Zephyrhills. If no one else maps in the area, I might take another drive around tomorrow. There should be a lot of coverage yet to be found... 7. You are welcome... And, yes, the LOL tower was transmitting LTE on Friday afternoon... Sent from my Galaxy S III
8. That's my best guess. I was able to get over 25mbps down near I75 & SR54. And around 7mbps down at SR54 & Morris Bridge Rd. I will map more later this evening. There was 4G all the way from near Zephyrhills, down SR54 to I75, then S to Bruce B Down. I mapped in Sensorly the whole way. I'm back at 'University Hospital' / FL Hospital Tampa once again, as my poor grandmother is ill again. Also, picking up 4G at the hospital again... Sent from my Galaxy S III
9. It was on on Friday. Sent from my Galaxy S III
10. I'm picking up LTE in N Wesley Chapel, near Zephyrhills. I'm mapping it in Sensorly. I'm sure it's a new tower. I just cannot say which one it is just yet. I'll be out mapping for a while. More to come... Sent from my Galaxy S III
11. Thanks! I got the update this morning. I'll try to test the newly updated ap very soon. I'll let you know if I experience any problems... MajorZaid Sent from my Galaxy S III
12. I'd have no problem paying a dollar or two for the app, if it does what I want it to do. But, ya gotta iron out the bugs first... Sent from my Galaxy S III
13. SpenceSouth. Thanks for your work on the app. It is very handy. It saves me fiddling with my phone too much while I'm driving around... One suggestion for a future update possibly... Could there be a feature added that would allow the app to be set to automatically start scanning for 4G, when 4G is lost? That would be very nice to have when mapping the edges of coverage on Sensorly.
14. Hello SpenceSouth, I've veen using the app since yesturday morning when I got the update notice on my GS3. I like the app in general. However, it seems to have a big bug. Basically, whenever it detects 4G, it plays an alert sound and jumps to the GPS screen. All similar to the old app. However, once at that GPS screen, there is apparently an issue when I click either the Back button on my phone or the 'go back to Home Page' button at the top right in the app. When I do either thing, the app immediately puts my phone back into airplane mode. And, unusually quickly says it has detected LTE. This will happen as long as I am connected to 4G, but not 3G, etc. The only way I can keep this from happening is to either leave the app on the GPS screen until I loose 4G, or click my phone's Home button to close the app. Changing the Auto-repeat on LTE setting has no effect, as the app triggers airplane mode immediately, without counting down, as I mentioned before. For some background, I have a stock 16GB Sprint Galaxy S3, running stock Sprint Android 4.1 1. The only thing I have done is rooted my stock phone. I run no AntiVirus SW, etc. Sent from my Galaxy S III
15. Those 'tower dogs' seem to be all over the place lately. Sent from my Galaxy S III
16. I just drove past the Land O Lakes tower and it appears that 4g is not on for whatever reason. Sent from my Galaxy S III
17. Feech... I mapped from Wesley Chapel in N Tampa, all the way to Ft Desoto Park this evening. I was able to stay on 4G for most the way there. Also, I got connected and mapped 4G at the very SW tip of the Ft Desoto Island, including the fishing pier... Sent from my Galaxy S III
18. Tux. Do you happen to know roughly how long after you noticed panels & RRUs on the tower was the backhaul done & then how long till 4G turned on? Sent from my Galaxy S III
19. Sorry. My flippin Tapatalk app is acting up again. It keeps mangling my posts... Sent from my Galaxy S III
20.

Yay! About time that tower went live...
21. I have found it difficult to stay on 4G there as well. I suspect this to be due to another 3G tower being right after the Livingston Rd overpass. Though, I could reaquire (force) 4G by toggling airplane mode. Which isn't something most people would do unless they were mapping 4G, etc. Heck, by toggling airplane mode I was able to get 4G from the much more distant LandOLakes tower in the same general area, before the Bears tower got 4G... 22. For what ever reason, my posts go nutty if I go back and fourth between my iPad, and my Android phone. A bunch of extra characters appear in the post if I edit on one device, after posting on the other... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
23. Here's a picture I took of the tower E of Lake Wales on SR60. The quality of the pic sucks, but you may be able to make out what I believe to be the NV panels & RRUs on the bottom set of antennas... Sent from my Galaxy S III
24. When I was on my Vero Beach trip, I also spotted what looked like a cell tower with Sprint NV 4G panels & RRUs on SR60 East of Lake Wales. There were some other random towers that seemed to be upgraded along the way too. Though, I was in a hurry, and didn't have time to stop and have a closer look... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
25. Also, just for the hell of it, I mapped some 4G when I was working in Vero Beach a few days ago. Looking at Sensorly, it looked like someone else had done a little mapping there before me. But, I added a bunch more to the map... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
