1. I was working in Naples today, and running Sensorly while driving. On my return trip North, I was able to connect to 4G from just S of Brandon on I75. And then was able to stay on 4G for the most part all the way to the Fowler exit, then a bit E on Fowler. I mapped it all on Sensorly. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
2. Wear did you get it? I mapped.4g there from around Fletcher to near Van Dyke. Have at Sensorly. Sent from my Galaxy S III
3. I mapped around there on Friday. Needless to say, I drove through at a moderately fast speed, and didn't stop... Sent from my Galaxy S III
4. I just mapped an area not in Sensorly yet. West on Fletcher from I275 to Dale Mabry, then all the way N on Dale Mabry to Van Dyke, then a short distance W on Van Dyke. It seems to be LTE from the tower at I275 & Bears. Pretty impressive, as I passed many Sprint 3G towers along that route. I am also picking up EVDO rev A in lots of the area instead of eRHPD.

Sent from my Galaxy S III

5. I've been using the app as well. Thanks for creating it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
6. I made a huge loop around the area while mapping on Sensorly. Down Florida Ave, up Nebraska ave, E on Bears, N on Livingston, and a couple random small roads in between. Also mapped N on I275 towards Pasco cty. Sensorly should have it all soon... Sent from my Galaxy S III
7. I'm driving south on Florida Avenue at Busch Boulevard and I still have LTE. There may be more than 1 tower active in the area... I got over 7mbps down at the corner of Florida & Waters Avenue Sent from my Galaxy S III
8. I picked up 4g at Van Dyke and Dale Mabry right now. I'm taking a back road towards the new tower. I'm mapping some of the area. Sent from my Galaxy S III
9. I'm planning on making a trip down there shortly too. What roads did you map? I'll try to hit the area from a different direction to keep from duplicating what you've mapped. Sent from my Galaxy S III
10. I just drove past the cell tower at Bears Avenue and I 275. There is definitely no LTE coming from at Tower at this time. Also, I picked up EVDO revision a instead of EHRPD around that tower. Sent from my Galaxy S III
11. In a perfect world... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
12. I would guess that around 1/3 of the towers I've had a look around the N Tampa / S Pasco area have the new Network Vision 4G LTE panels installed. If they were to all be 'turned on', I'd bet we'd have pretty good 4G coverage... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
13. I can tell you from my own observations, that there seems to be almost constant work being done on towers around Tampa. I go on treks to have a look at towers every few weeks. I have personally seen techs installing panels, or doing some other work, on most of my treks. I have also discovered newly installed Panels on several towers that may not have been there earlier. Today was one of those days. Out of five towers I visited on my lunch, I saw techs installing Sprint 4G panels at one of the towers, and a tech inspecting another tower that had already been upgraded. So, i'm pretty sure work is in progress all over Tampa Bay. I'd imagine we'll start to see Sprint LTE popping up all over, hopefully very soon... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
14. I could be mistaken as to what tower XAntonio917X was describing in the original post I quoted. I was talking about the tower at Bears & I-275. The one next to the IHOP...
15. That tower's 4G is supposedly completed. I wonder if it was broadcasting LTE at some point? If not, I'd suspect that it will soon...
16. I was working in Saint Augustine today, when picked up LTE near I95 & SR207. There was 4G mapped in Sensorly, but only along I95 past the area. So, just for the h3ll of it, I drove in a big loop around the area and mapped a bunch more 4G. I also mapped as I drove back home along SR207 towards Palatka... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
17. I got LTE on the top floor of University Hospital on multiple occasions. I verified that this was a connection to the Land O Lakes 4G tower by comparing the info in the LTE Engineering Data screen on my phone while at the Hospital, and the same info from just South of the same tower. I assume the same sort of thing may be happening at USF, as I am unaware of other live 4G towers in the area. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
18. That's what I do to force my phone to connect to 4G, when it otherwise wouldn't. I have found that I can have a 3G tower between me and a 4G tower, and still connect to the way more distant 4G tower. I can only assume that phones have been set to prefer a weaker 4G signal, over a stronger 3G signal. You can see this from my mapping of the areas around the Land O Lakes tower. There are several places where the 4G on the map extends beyond adjacent 3G towers. I use this technique every time I map on Sensorly. There is an LTE Discovery app on the market that automates this process. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
19. They were parked inside what was a locked gate. So, I'd guess that they had a key... Sent from my Galaxy S III
20. I saw what looked like an inspector parked inside the fence, next to the Sprint Tower on North Dale Mabry at Lake Heather on Friday around lunch time. This is one of the towers I got pictures of last week. They were headed out of the fence with a digital camera in hand. They were looking up at the tower. It looked like they were looking to take clear pictures of the panels at the top, etc.
21. That's the points I mapped on the 6th floor of the hospital. Also, University Hospital is now called Florida Hospital Tampa, as it has new owners. Kind of a pain, as I still always want to call it University Hospital too...
22. In case anyone wants to look at, or add any Sprint tower photos, the new thread is located here: > http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2935-photos-of-sprint-towers-in-the-tampa-bay-area/ You'll need to be a Sponsor to access the new thread. Believe me, access to content like this, and to the interactive maps is well worth a few bucks...
23. Is that the spot near the corner of Fletcher and BBDs? If so, that may be from when I was at Florida Hospital Tampa. I was able to pickup LTE on the N side of the 6th floor. I suspect I connected to the very distant Land O Lakes LTE tower. I mapped it in Sensorly on several occations...
24. From what I've heard, mostly here on S4GR.com, yes! If I understand it correctly, pretty much everywhere there is 3G coverage now should get 4G LTE, sooner or later. And, when they take the old Nextel 800mhz and decommission it, they will then switch on 800mhz voice, then somewhat later 800mhz LTE. When that happens, coverage inside buildings and in fringe areas were there is 800mhz will get much better. However, supposedly our current phones only support 800mhz voice, but do not support 800mhz LTE... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
25. One last update... I was able to connect to LTE just N of Livingston while traveling N on I275 tonight. I disconnected briefly just before I75, but then kept LTE all the way to the rest stop on I75, N of SR 56. I was running Sensorly, and the updated coverage was visable when zoomed in fairly close. This was surprising, as I passed at least two other Sprint towers while mapping... Sent from my Galaxy S III
