  1. I have noticed that at a stop light I would be getting a constant 12-13 meg down, but as soon as I turn the corner it drops to .8 - 1.1 meg. Also, about that tower, it appears the closer I get to it, the worse the speeds are.
  2. Any ides on how complete this market is and if they are coming back to it anytime soon? Because it is getting really congested
  3. So, after being in more places around town where I have an LTE signal, but no data throughput, I called Sprint again (been dealing with this since Feb). I was told that they won't do anything unless they get a lot of unique people complaining and they finally they got enough complaining that they now have 5 tickets open in our area starting April 20th. But, the technician on the phone said that there doesn't seem to be an answer for this yet. I was told a lot of upgrades happened in March, but the data keeps getting slower and slower. It seems like in order to have data that works, I need to disable LTE. Does this seem right? I feel like I am getting a runaround. I love Sprint when I travel and I can see what they are capable of, but in my hometown they have gotten really bad and no one that I talk to at Sprint can answer why.
  4. It has happened in 2 different cities. But it does seem like 1 tower has had something change as right next to the tower and 2 blocks away now have awful coverage (full bars and .4mbps) but if I start driving further away from it, the speed starts to increase. I want to clarify that those were the best spots for speed a couple months ago. Also another part of the city if I am on LTE, then the data doesn't work at all, but if I switch to 3G it does
  5. Dies anyone have any insight? Since February 12th, the network connection will just stop working. I would be surfing and then all of a sudden web pages wouldnt load. I would do a speed test and it wouldn't run. So I toggled airplane mode on and off and then data would work again (around 5mbps). Then about 2 mins later it would stop working again. Another temp solution is doing ##update to get it working again, but again that is only temporary. We are also experiencing dramatic speed swings from 5mbps down to .2 in the same location taken within a minute of each other. I have called Sprint many times and 99% of the time their representatives say everything is working correctly, but 1 time the rep said we have over 30 issues in our area. But, when I call back and reference that, the technician is dumbfounded and can't see a single issue.
  6. I don't know if it related. But here in the eastern Iowa market (where we don't have spark) is seeing eerily similar issues.
  7. If it is $100 for up to 10 lines without a monthly phone fee, then yes it would be a great plan. If it is just double the data as it's rivals for the same price, then not as exciting. Like I said, the problem with sprint was slow data and people laughed when sprint had unlimited data for the same price as 2Gb from the rivals because you can never get close to that amount with the slow data. If that same perception is out there, then a 20Gb bucket won't matter (if there is so a monthly device fee) as they would still laugh and say you can't fill that up, so for the same price get a usable network.
  8. So is this essentially vzw and att, but just double the data? I highly doubt it will be $10 a line. Is the 20Gb $100 and then a fee per line? If that is the case, I don't think it will be that much of a game changer as the whole problem with Sprints imagine was slow data. I don't think keeping the same price and just doubling the data would have the same effect as keeping the same amount of data but dropping the price so it is cheaper than their rivals.
  9. So would I. If I could get 5-7 Mbps consistently I would be happy. I think the fear sets in that VzW and Att have triple to 4 times the speed and they also have double to triple the subscribers. We know that VzW's LTE went way down once more people used the network; how do we know that Sprints won't crumble if they get more subscribers since their speed is already the slowest with almost the least subscribers of the 4 carriers.
  10. As a person who loves going to Disney for vacation, I don't find that worthwhile. What I would hope they do is somehow incorporate charging stations at restaurant tables. That way, my phone can be charging while I eat and it is always an arms-length away instead of hidden inside of a locker.
  11. Does anyone in the QC market have good luck connecting to LTE on the iPhone 5s? Most of the time it says 3G and I need to go into airplane mode to get it to connect.
  12. I was on John Deere road and 41at Street. I used to pull down 12/6 and now I was getting 2/.5. Plus for the past week I had to go to airplane mode just to get 4g. That was one of the first towers in the area to get 4g. Plus in Milan and Coal Valley, the 3G speeds were .05/.02. A week ago they were 1/.6.
  13. Can't wait for that to happen as it appears that the speeds are really starting to slow down for the past week. Hopefully once the other sites are done, then it will take the strain of the completed towers.
  14. Yeah, same for me. Seems like the speeds are really slow compared to what I was getting at Disney World last week.
  15. I got LTE for about 2 mins in the quad cities and then it disappeared. I am guessing I attached to the tower by the airport.
  16. I am on a road trip down to Florida and stopped in Antioch, TN and I got my first taste of Sprint LTE. All I have to say is WOW!! I am impressed and it is now going to make the wait even harder :-). Consistent download speed of 12Mbps and upload of 4 Mbps. I could check Facebook and my mail (all 7 accounts) in < 1 min. It would take 5 - 8 mins in the QC to do the same thing.
  17. Well, I have checked the maps and I don't see any pins (accepted or even in progress) in the quad city area. A few posts above mentions that no towers have had any work done here yet. So my question is, since Sprint has said this area will be done with NV by the end of August (latest is 3 months), is that realistic? How long does it take an area to be completed (3G and LTE) once work has started?
  18. Do you know how long it takes if an area hasn't been touched yet? I am asking because sprint has told me end of August for the QC area (which won't happen). But does 3 months sound legit?
  19. I am hoping it is in the Quad City area. Is there a reason why Cedar Rapids or Iowa City would be assumed to be accepted first? Cedar Rapids has a population of 127,905 and Iowa City has a population of 68,947. However, the Quad City population is 381,342.
  20. Hopefully the quad cities isn't in the 66% done figure as the data is still painfully slow and times out on a regular basis.
