  1. This worked perfect thanks! I thought DC wasn't supposed to be a Spark market, though I guess technically DC isn't even officially an LTE market according to Sprint's maps either.
  2. Just want to say this thread has been very helpful. I thought I had a "problem" with my nexus 5 avoiding switching to LTE until I airplane mode cycled-though looks like it's normal. Unfortunately based on what I read here it seems the solution is to not drop LTE in the first place :/
  3. pulled 57 MBPS in annandale, much faster compared to the usual 1-5 mbps I get on LTE. I guess this means I was pulling on multiple LTE bands/Spark? I've done a lot of googling and I cannot find instructions on how to tell which band I am using. (Stock Nexus 5) . *#0011# does not work (though apparently it only works on the first line?) Any ideas?
  4. Of course this is not a Sprint ranting website, though he has a point, (assuming your in Minnesota) you have no idea how... less than desirable.. the Sprint data is in Washington DC & Metro. Some areas have gotten better, though it happens way to often that I get data test speeds of .01-.1 Mbps. This mean's you can't roam to Verizon, though you virtually don't have internet. Not to mention, this eats your battery. I traveled to PA this past weekend, and it was amazing, Hulu-Plus in HQ with little pauses the entire way. On my 40 minute commute to DC, it's not even possible to finish a 20 minute show because of constant buffering. I am impatiently waiting for it to get better, though otherwise I don't mind too much the extra encouragement to use the kindle
  5. Next to other Sprint Iphone 5's, they also like to connect to 2g, though other phones (4s, GS3) seem not to
  6. There's a really long discussion on Sprint's form about Iphone 5's data not working. http://community.spr...essage/496864?. There's a bunch of suggested fixes, some saying if your phone was activated incorrectly your data speed would practically be unusable . It's a tough call to either blame it on the phone or network, because they can both be intermittent. My guess is most of those issues people who are complaining about their phone are actually seeeing infrastructure issues. The more I get into populated DC/Arlington, the slower the speeds get, sometimes to the point of unusability. In the past week, it seems to have improved though. One interesting note is that my Iphone5 goes to 2G all the time (the little circle), though my android practically never did. In a few spot tests, non-Iphone 5s (with Sprint) next to mine will keep 3g as well as better speeds. Is that just the way the I5's attena/firmware works -to prefer a slightly stronger 2g signal? Seems to be less than ideal.
  7. So kinda funny, this Sprint lady has been calling my mother every day to check up on her Sandy related service issues. Each day she says the issue should be fixed tomorrow, and she'll follow up the next day to confirm. I think yesterday my mom said to call her back in a week haha. Though anyways, she has clarified that when she said my Washington DC issues should be going away on 11/11, that is because of LTE launch. . Granted, she has been wrong 3 more times about my mom's service being fixed "tomorrow", though the launch is probably something more planned.
  8. My mother (we keep as family plan as it greatly lowers your per a line cost), called Sprint today and got transferred to some "special" department. Mostly she was complaining about how she still hasn't received non-roaming service back to her house since Sandy, but she also mentioned to them my complaints about non-working data in L'Enfant DC. Surprisingly the representative actually agreed with her and said that data should/would not be be working in DC due to pending upgrades. She said that the data should begin working on 11/11. LTE launch maybe? I'm a bit skeptical as she also told me they told her a very short timeline after the July Storm, though it took them a few weeks to get back to full service. They did credit us $40 for the service issues, and scheduled a followup call, that was nice of them.
  9. Does anyone else use Sprint in the L'enfant area? Several tests inside and outside my building, and between it and the train station, are maxing out at .1mbps (as in 1/10 of a megabit, and usually half of that). In my office next to the window I'm getting 10kbps. This explains why my data connection seems to not "work". For the past few months I was wondering why my battery life on my smartphone sucked so bad, and now that I have an I5, the battery life still goes down by half if I barely touch my phone. Back in the burbs in south-east fairfax I'm getting usually about 1.5mbps. I don't get how their 3g can suck so bad in a central part of DC. (Unless their network is just that overloaded). Really hoping when LTE comes their 3g won't matter. (On my old Wi-Max android I couldn't catch 4g in L'enfant regularly, so I just kept it off).
