Yep - I'm seeing this now in Indy market. I took a Youtube of it (ignore the WiFi signal - it shows that whenever I connect to PC to take video screenshots).
Samsung market - fully upgraded B41, B25, B26 tower. Never had issues with it
So I tried this at another tower today in Indy market. I think I have it isolated to this- if the phone is in an area with b41 with a fringe signal and the phone starts searching at b26, it will sit on b26 for 10-15 seconds and if it can't lock to b41 it drops to 3G.
If The phone locks to b41 first, it's just fine and stays parked there.
I tested with another phone to confirm.

Are you seeing these drops occur when you have great signal? There is currently an issue in Samsung markets related to a software update pushed to the cell sites recently. I spent a week in communication with the Director of Customer Management at Sprint diagnosing this issue. It was resolved for me, but others in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis are still experiencing these issues. St. Louis is Ericsson, but it could be related to a recent software update too.

There was a private method from the CoreTelephony framework I was using, "CTServerConnectionCellMonitorCopyCellInfo()" to be exact.
It's no longer there, probably removed or renamed.

I googled that and nothing even came up. Not sure how you came across that method but I will not update iOS now. I love your app!

Unfortunately I won't be able to find a new method to get the information until a jailbreak is available.
Maybe we'll get lucky and there'll be a jailbreak Soon[emoji769].

Out of curiosity, what did they change that broke the app?

This rocks! Well done sir.

There is a new tower going up on the grounds of Hartley High School. Livingston and James Rd. Could it be Sprint?

The evidence for the iPhone 6 variants is still inconclusive. But all iPhone 5 variants operate in slotted mode -- that is the only way for a non e/CSFB handset to idle on a CDMA1X network. Furthermore, waking and listening to the paging channel per the synchronized slot cycle index is the very definition of a handset idling on a CDMA1X network.

I have iPhone 6 and was able to capture this screen shot while in field test shortly after airplane mode flicked on/off.

I was in Manhattan for a few days last week and was very impressed with Sprint and in particular data performance on B41. Perhaps some of the other NYC members could chime in for your particular area.

AJ,
What are the pros/cons to use the slotted mode vs e/CSFB?

Anyone notice that some information seems to be cut off when you go into your engineering screen? I can't see the whole cell identity and upload/download bandwidth values. Example:

If anyone is interested, there is a video of the event: http://www.media-server.com/m/p/jdkrhz3d
Neville Ray portion is really what's worth watching.
Everytime I see Neville Ray's name, I think of Aaron Neville and his o' so sweet singing voice.

Not sure if this has been shared before but this link shows a current map of Magenta's Band 12 holdings.

So you are looking forward to paying $650 for a 4.7 inch screen with only 750x1334 resolution and only 16gb of non expandable mem and 1gb of ram. My phone has 720p and can take up to 64gb until wp8.1 comes out than take up to 128gb card and only $450, sorry but that is in my honest opinion reaming the consumer.
My Chevy is better than your Ford! My Chevy had those same features on the 2013 as the 2014 Ford. I can't believe you'd pay for that Ford!
I hear this argument in my head every time someone brings up the Apple vs Android phone argument.
I'm thinking of designing a sticker for sale on S4GRU from the famous Calvin & Hobbes comic of Calvin peeing on something. Usually, it's a Ford or Chevy logo, but I'm going to change it to an Apple or Android phone.
Anyone wanna buy one?

Now, what did I tell you guys over the past few weeks? With this iPhone, you would not get everything -- band 41, carrier aggregation, and band 12. And guess what? I was spot on. You got just one of the three. So, celebrate your victory but acknowledge your multiple defeats.

Thanks man. Sprint is starting to get better and better. Still a little slow at times but band 26 optimization is picking up. What page is the permit because I can't find it.
Well, I swear the copy I had linked had Sprint on it a bunch of times in Ocala. I can't seem to find it now - but trust me I saw bunch of B41 permits in your city! I'll have to keep searching.
-
How can I find out if there's permits for this in Jacksonville, NC or even Hubert/Sneads Ferry, NC?
I'm in the Columbus market. It's really just a lot of Googling and visiting local building department websites. Sometimes you get lucky and they have online permitting reports - other times, you are just out of luck.

Sprint at peak times can still be a hassle around here while tmobile is smooth sailing. Sprint hates me as my home site is completely legacy and probably wont have band 41 for years. While tmobile i get 40-65mpbs at my home at all times of the day. Sprint around my home outside is 1mbps unless band 26 kicks in then it is 3-7 which is fine. Overall though tmobile wins edge of cell speed wise. A 110 signal and I still pull 15+ speeds. I wonder if they have a 10x10 or 15x15 on my site. I max out at 65mbps at 3am.
Since I picked on you about your posting on TOP of the quotes in another thread, I thought I'd give you good news about Ocala & B41.
I couldn't find the original PDF, but here's a cached copy of recent permits applied for B41 in your area.
ps - Sorry off topic, but I remembered his post and had to quote it!

Good news for you New Mexico/TX gang:
On August 14, 2014, Sprint Corporation (Sprint) filed three requests for waiver of Section 90.209((7) of the Commission’s rules 1 to permit 800 MHz wideband operations in portions of the New Mexico (Region 29),2 Texas-El Paso (Region 50),3 and Texas-San Antonio (Region 53)4 National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC) regions prior to completion of the 800 MHz Band reconfiguration in those regions (collectively “Sprint Waiver Requests”).http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2014/db0826/DA-14-1238A1.pdf

Yes, you do have multiple choices. You can opt not to go to Alaska if wireless service is that important to you. Alternatively, you can go but choose not to use roaming beyond your quota. Or you can now pay for your roaming data overage up to 300 MB total. Finally, you can elect to use a different provider that has native service in Alaska.
AJ
Out of curiosity, how is cell coverage in rural Alaska? You seem like a fella that would know. I did some searching and ATT looks to be the 'big' carrier there but coverage maps looks rather centralized to the southeast areas of the state.
