But your eyes always adjust. You can't fight nature. You're not running Photoshop on the phone, and I find it silly to worry about a screen that few people could declare inferior if they were just pick up the phone in a store. The blueish and greenish hue shouldn't exist on a $600 device. My eyes shouldn't need to "adjust".
-
After a few mins, your eyes will adjust. Bigger issue is with polarization when wearing polarized sunglasses. M8 has to be held horizontally to be visible.Check some of the reviews, like Android Central. The colors leave much to be desired.
Curios how battery tests will change after the update.

I was at a Shark's hockey game on Saturday at Levi's stadium in Santa Clara. Here are my observations:
* No one knew the Wi-Fi password or Wi-Fi was off. I saw some tweets of people complaining about WiFi speeds, so I'm assuming they attended a game at the stadium before and Wi-Fi password was the same.
* Fastest speed test I got was .5 Mbit down on B41
* On many occasions, my phone would toggle between no-service and LTE every few seconds without ever getting a usable connection. If DAS was on, it was clearly overloaded. If DAS was off, then towers were overloaded.
Either way, Sprint has a lot of work to do for next year.

Ugh. I saw a friend's nexus 5 doing that too last week. Does it take as long as it usually takes after a real upgrade? I might hold off doing the same.yes I've gotten the Android is upgrading message myself as well with each reboot!
-
You can switch the view back to tiled.Lollipop has it setup where even if you reboot, your apps still stay in the recents list. That's why it gets incredibly cluttered. I'm hoping for the HK Lollipop update so I can use it's firmware on AOSP Lollipop ROM.

I hear ya. On the other hand, it's the network that decides which band you're parked on, so it's not out of the question that Sprint could have phones parked on b26 when idle.So I finally have band 41 turned on in my area and one of my main towers and am regularly seeing it in the last few days. However I have noticed that my signal strength on my phone is rarely less than -105 db and the side effect of this is my battery is draining MUCH faster.
I have the LG G2 and the battery is pretty strong on it. Often I'd end the day with 50% left, admittedly my usuage varies, but I'm definitely a heavier user of my phone, in the last few days I have consistently found myself in the 10-20% battery life range.
Hopefully phone companies realize this and offer larger batteries due to this side effect of faster cell service, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen with the Galaxy S6 which is rumored to have just a 2500 mah battery.

Another workaround is to use the HTC Dot View case which has its own lock screen. The only way around it that I can find is to go into the General settings > Sound & Notification > scroll all the way down and under "When Device is Locked" set that to "Don't show notifications at all".
Granted you won't see text messages or anything else on the lock screen, but you also no longer have the SignalCheck bar. Another downside to that option is that you can't see your signal strength at all on when you turn your display on and you HAVE to unlock your device before you can see signal check in the notification bar. It's either that or not have signal check pro run in the status bar at all.
-
You can now keep Wi-Fi Calling enabled AND dismiss the constant notification.

Downloading it too

For whatever reason, my account is always in the last batch of phones marked for upgrade.

There are three possibilities for bad battery life:That is probably a good idea.
1. File system fragmented and/or apps and is not upgrading cleanly.
2. Battery going bad.
3. Flash memory going bad and using more CPU and battery for each read and write.
I'm hoping it's just #1 that's the problem.
No easy way to tell if it's #2. An app might be able to test #3.

I plan on re-imaging and doing a factory reset on my M8 one Lollipop comes out.No power issues but my phone did become unbelieveably slow and had issues with the screen not coming on due to a delay between input and action(probably 2-3 minutes).
-
With the latest update, how is this "cloud gallery" feature supposed to work on One M8 (not HK)? I keep seeing a message that Cloud Gallery has removed duplicates, but it's unclear which photos got uploaded (which is concerning in itself).

Ditto hereMine did not change to ART either with the OTA or when I installed this version with htc's published RUU. I have the option but default is still dalvik.

Can you post a screen shot of ItsOn's battery usage when it does its thing? My battery life has been down to about 8 hours tops lately, so I'll reset and reinstall things as soon as Lollipop comes out. I don't think it's anything in particular draining the battery, as everything is just slower. Keyboard might take a second or two to pop out now instead of it being nearly instantaneous.I'm also getting the ItsOn battery drain and random data/call failure. Doesn't seem as frequent as others though, maybe once a week. I can normally squeeze 1-2 days on battery, but ItsOn drops that to about 8-12 hours when it does whatever its doing.
I really wish battery usage was reported and normalized to mAH, instead of just a percentage. I bet my Gmail uses 2 to 3 times as much battery for same amount of email add before.
-
BTW. I haven't noticed many browser issues, but that might be because I use LinkBubble most of the time. (Shameless plug)
-
Yea. I think that's more of an Android problem, than HTC. My Samsung eventually get slow too with keyboard taking a while to come up. I plan on doing a full reset once lollipop comes out.
-
The app shows very little usage, so wait until your battery is nearly depleted. Not even, it's just not there. It's not using data or even on my battery usage menu.
-
Possible. The radio problem is pretty rare, so wonder if it's even a known issue.Just picked up the h/k m8... Did the whole round of updates... Replaced my one max till the next iteration. I never got pinged to download the last update to HTC eye software. Could it be due to issues that you others are experiencing with the radio?

Majority of Peninsula seems to be good with either b41 or b26 deployed beyond b25.Service in the peninsula is not bad with a triband phone.
-
Wtf is ItsOn?One suggestion...
Make sure that you have ItsOn enabled...it can be a battery hog, but I have found out, the hard way, that if it is disabled, it will screw with your radios

Yup. Started with the last update. Is anyone having an issue where the radio just stops working all together? I try airplane mode, i try prl and profile updates and none of them work. I have to reboot the phone. It happens on 3G and LTE. I think it might have something to do with the last update.

A few things that make it better than the "NV Sites Complete" page might indicate.
1) Clear sites broadcasting B41 is not listed. Coincidentally, many areas have B41 only.
2) B26 is also unreported so far, but definitely deployed in some areas and covers other B25 holes given the high site density here.
As always, your mileage may vary, but the eCSFB fixes in August - plus, some actual deployments - made it a much better place.
-
It's infinitely better than it was in August. Another month or so before it can be announced, but now that there's plenty of B26, SF is a much better place.Hi, does anyone know if lte SF bay area will be upgraded and turned on this year (2014)?

My point was that if you have never read any review on M9, then walked into a Sprint Store that had M9 on display, describing a screen "inferior" is not something you'd notice.
