$5 says it isn't DSS. They have enough spectrum in bands 71 and 41 to not need it, and if they're going to climb towers it'll be for adding n71 and n41, neither of which are densely deployed right now.
My bet is something about improved low and mid band 5G deployments, with a kicker of opt-in T-Mobile primary network conversion for anyone on Sprint who wants it...and opt-in account conversion (including SIMs) for a subset of plans.
Maybe new plans on T-Mobile's side that are at least as good a deal as Sprint's published unlimited plans.
T-Mobile has a countdown for the announcement on their homepage now.

Something I just noticed recently, Best Buy doesn't list Sprint leases on their website (at least for the S20's) as an option anymore.

Got a software update this morning. Sprint boot/power-off logo is gone. Security patch level is now June. Not noticing any other differences yet.
What does it show on boot/power-off now?

It's interesting that the Sprint coverage map now shows a LOT less LTE "fair signal" coverage in the Cleveland area, and more "excellent signal" coverage.

The June security update is available.

Is there somewhere that shows what all the antennas that T-Mobile uses looks like?

What’s the iPhone SE on us deal T-Mobile announced for T-Mobile and sprint postpaid customers? Anyone know the details? Or is that only available for first responders? In the news release it says all T-Mobile and sprint postpaid customers.
I was wondering that myself. Also says something about a $500 upgrade credit.

According to this article, that also used B46 to achieve that high speed (along with N41 and B66).

I JUST got this text message:
Sprint has joined T-Mobile. You now have access to expanded coverage on the T-Mobile Network! Also enjoy simultaneous talk and data - no action required by you. FreeMsg

Can’t wait. I won’t be surprised if they shut off LTE on b41 completely by end of the year. I latched on to b66 the other day and i couldn’t tell the difference. Plus bands 2/4/12/25/66 and some of 71 should be sufficient to manage LTE traffic for both sprint and T-Mobile customers
I think they'll shut off B41 for LTE also.

This definitely validates the tweet that PhillipJames89 shared yesterday!

And that's with 60Mhz. Just imagine the speed if/when they bump it up to 100Mhz

Sprint's coverage map has been updated. It's a little "wonky" right now though. Some Sprint coverage is not showing up until I zoom in. It also looks like it's showing more T-Mobile roaming coverage (namely in Montana).

The May security update is out.

Now, they just need to deploy the "layer cake" to the rest of the country. Even if it's just 2 layers of the layer cake in rural areas.
Now I want some cake. See what you guys did.

Yeah, can anybody figure out what this update does?!

It says S8 and Note 8 and newer. So S9 and Note9 is included, right?

That is why I find lowband 5G pointless. 5G should just be mid band and Mmwave. Put all 600 on LTE and you wouldn't notice a difference. Even tho vzw is planning it next with n5 and at some point n13.

Won't all bands (lowband and midband) move move to 5G eventually?

I'm definitely going to miss Sprint. It's like a homely introverted ex-girlfriend. She's a cheap date and just likes to stay home (on WiFi). You know there was so much potential, if she could just be what you wanted her to be. Get moving, get out of the house, get a makeover. You weren't in love with her, and made so many excuses for her to all your friends. You've been meaning to break up with her, but you didn't want to end up with one of those 3 other narcissistic chicks out there, who really didn't look much better with their makeup off. Eventually she just finds someone else (T-Mobile).

Yes, NOW you get it!

I still have the June security update on my phone, but I have notice that after a restart, I no longer see the Sprint splash screen.
