The xfinity hotspot thing is awesome. They're everywhere. They can be annoying, though. I usually just click "forget network" when I'm done because my phone will pickup faint, slow signals when I don't want it to. Generally, these xfinity hotspots are always faster than 15mbps. It's nice.

Are there band 26/41 notifications on this version?

And to think that a group of retailers are disabling NFC checkout because they lose control of customer data.
That's complete garbage. Good thing my first time in a CVS will be my last. I've always been a Walgreens guy, and this move just reaffirms it.

Every Sprint device I've owned in the last year has done this.So other phones on network work fine? Same issue with wife's S4

I used Apple Pay for the first time tonight at a gas station. It was by far the easiest thing ever. Not a single hiccup. It's nice that it's always ready, and you don't have to fumble around with an app, or an NFC toggle.

I'm not having any issues connecting to B26 or B41 at all. Weird.
Sent from my iPhone 6 on the Now Network
It's not everywhere. Some places it will grab 26, others it won't (places where my 5s did). Maybe some towers still aren't configured for band hand-offs. I don't have a problem with band 41 at all.

I'm tired of my iPhone 6 not picking up band 26 like my 5s did, and my android devices. It just climbs up to -118dbm and then falls on its face to 3G. Between that, and the countless forums on the net claiming people can't connect to band 41, I'm beginning to think this device isn't configured properly, and needs some sort of update from Sprint. I've encountered a few Sprint forums where Sprint tech support claim they're aware of the issue, and hope to have an update pushed by the end of the year.

Mine works. If spark is available, it connects and holds. You might have a device specific issue if other people near you on other devices are connecting to spark with no problem. Take it to apple and tell them it doesn't connect to band 41.Ah, I get it...
Now, just to be sure, is everybody here who has an iPhone 6 able to connect to Spark? I don't personally know anybody with an iPhone 6 on Sprint other than myself so I'd like to be sure it is merely a problem with the phone. Some people on the Sprint communities with iPhone 6's also have the problem I have, but then again users who go to the communities at Sprint usually wouldn't go if they didn't have an issue of some sort.

The issue I encountered was that it wasn't iOS 7 compatible and they didn't update the payment system, so you couldn't even buy it. It was showing up, though, just with an error when clicking "buy." Using a certain repository gets you around having to pay for it. *wink*Remotely? Signal 2. But I don't remember if newer devices can install this unless they bought it back in the iPhone 4S days. It may not show up in the Cydia store for you...
Totally forget though, anyone remember? I remember some sort of issue with Signal 2 and the iOS7 jailbreak last year.

Whenever I would be on an android kick, and have iMessage deactivated so that people could text me, it would always give me problems turning it back on. It would just hang forever and not switch on. Doing a power+home button reset fixed it every time. Try that out.

Apple Pay is dead simple. Wow.
My debit card (pnc) isn't yet supported, but my credit card (capital one) is. I hate using credit, but I added it and I'm going to attempt to use it later today for gas or something.

13/9mbps at Dearborn and Jackson in front of the federal building. Clearwire band 41. Prime hours down here.
Edit: and 3/3mbps on band 26 absolutely buried in this building on the 11th floor. Good job, Sprint. I haven't been in the loop in months.

Yea, that definitely sounds annoying. That "pocket 3G" issue is why I usually leave my phone in the cup holder in the car.
Whether you meant 1x(1900) or Ev-DO when you say 3G, Band 26 should definitely work beyond both. Hopefully that will be addressed by optimization.
I would hope cellular signals would be able to penetrate denim.

Yea, I know we'll unfortunately probably never see anything resembling an "acceptance report" for B26 optimization, but I'm always eager to hear how people's B26 coverage has changed over time, if at all.
Well, my thoughts about band 26 are, "well, it's there, and I'll connect as soon as it rescans out of 3G." It helps, and it's definitely better than nothing. Last night, I had to explain to my brother and his fiancé (Sprint iPhone 5c customers) that they're only on 3G in this bar because their phones were in their pocket. I told them to leave it on the table for a few minutes, or airplane toggle (band 26 was strong at this location, and providing an excellent 6/3mbps connection inside). They were upset because they never had to "airplane toggle" with AT&T. It's the whole "pocket 3G" issue that plagues Sprint and their image. AT&T or t-mobile will fall back to "4G" giving a false perception that they're still on a fast connection.

Do you or anyone else happen to know whether they've finished optimizing B26 around Barrington? A friend there is getting the Note 4 tomorrow (replacing the Note 3), and I'd like to know if the signal he'll have is the best it's going to get. His property is in a fringe area near the center of three sites where currently nothing but 1x800 works reliably inside.
I don't think we'll officially ever know. It just has to be from your own observances. I know that in the areas I frequent, signal levels on band 26 are about the same as when they first came online. Band 26 appeared in this area around March-ish so it's been 6 months. And being such a large market, we should be due for optimization crews if it hasn't already started.

searching for service or 3G since Friday
Actually, I take my comment back. I've had several "no service" or "searching..." On my phone on Friday. It wasn't for long, but it was strange, especially being on the Dan Ryan next to Sox park.

Service is great recently with all this band 41 firing up. It's nice getting 30+Mbps during the day in many places. Even in the city. We're getting there. My biggest gripe is still the lack of band 26 optimization and the the failure to switch bands properly. I still tend to fall to 3G when losing signal every single time which is annoying because there's band 26 in these areas. Airplane toggling will put me on a strong 26 signal. Why can't I fall to that instead of 3G?

That map looks widespread. I haven't had a single issue. Weird.

Looking for a good, inexpensive slim case? I love my Ringke Skim. I've used these on my 5 & 5S, and just got one for my 6 to replace my bulky Spigen "Slim" case.
Can't beat $10, either!

That's too much case
. I just ordered this one two days ago and I love it. I prefer no case, but this one will at least let me set it on things without scratching the aluminum.

If the Sprint iPhone 6 is bought at full price, is the phone automatically gsm unlocked for international use? That wou,d seem to be the ideal situation for travelers.
No. Any Verizon iPhone and a full-price T-Mobile (gsm) iPhone are actually unlocked for domestic and international use out of the box. The Sprint variant is only internationally unlockable after meeting Sprint's unlocking guidelines. It can't be domestically unlocked by Sprint. Period. They just won't do it.

On my android phones, being on band 26 and then making a call always put me on 1x800. I wonder if the iphone would do the same?

It's an everything area. It was all off. That's a B41 area right ?

There seemed to be a data outage for me from 0130-0515 this morning. I was in the Bridgeview area, all the way up to O'Hare, then back and out to my house in Willowbrook. Zilch. Anyone else?
xfinitywifi
in General Topics
Posted
Here, it's just a shared network from a Comcast leased router in a home or business. Comcast has assured people that the xfinitywifi side of their router has separate bandwidth that will not affect their actual network. It's also considered public so that any malicious activity isn't the fault of the router owner. Last night, I found a hotspot at my friend's house. He didn't know it was his router broadcasting, and was a little upset that he was paying, and other customers could connect to his network and use it. I tried to explain, but it didn't work.
