  1. I have to admit, I really love the live pictures on this phone more than I though I would when Apple announced it. It's really awesome thinking you just have a picture of a special moment, and then press it to get 3 seconds of video with audio of that moment. [emoji106]????

  2. is it just me or does anybody else go OCD mode on the silent switch?

    Up, up --- Down, Down

Up, Down, UP, down, up.. etc?

I tend to do this with all iPhones, not any Android devices though :P

I do it constantly while it's in my pocket. No wonder my battery dies quick.

  3. Lol this forum is so dead now. People must've gotten really busy with school and work and stuff.

I can't speak for everyone, but all of my Sprint issues have been fixed with the iPhone 6s: hanging onto LTE, switching bands properly, adding carrier aggregation, and quickly re-obtaining LTE on those rare instances when I drop to 3G. That's why I'm quiet.

  4. These two carriers you are talking about, are they specific 4G bands/frequencies that my HTC ONE is missing? What should I be looking for when I look at a phone's specs in order to ensure it can get these two extra carriers?

Your phone can only receive band 25 LTE. For about 2 years now, Sprint has been selling tri-band LTE devices (three bands). You're missing band 26 (sometimes referred to as 800mhz), and band 41 (sometimes referred to as 2500mhz). Band 26 is for distance and better indoor signal. Band 41 is for high-capacity and high-speed LTE.

In the Chicago market, Sprint is operating 2 band 25 carriers (which you're currently receiving), 1 band 26 LTE carrier, and 2 band 41 carriers. Sprint is also utilizing carrier aggregation which bonds both of those band 41 carriers into one downstream, giving users a huge speed boost. You appear to not upgrade very often, so make sure you at least get a device that offers carrier aggregation.

You mentioned you're using the HTC one, and from what I've read here, and other places, the new m9 is no good, so proceed with caution on that one if you plan on sticking with HTC. There are plenty of threads both here, and elsewhere about which Sprint devices are good performers. I'm an iPhone guy, so I can't really point you towards the best of the crop right now. Maybe someone else can steer you in the right direction.

  5. CA disabled after prl update , called cs was on the phone with advance tech no clue whats going on and they won't give me MSL code. Need to go to store sunday when i am off what a inconvenience.

Getting your MSL is incredibly easy. Open a support chat and say you factory reset your phone, and it's asking you for "some kind of MSL code" to complete the process. Play dumb. You should get it first shot, and if you don't, try another rep. Some reps confuse a customer asking for their MSL as requesting an unlock.

  6. Is anyone else in Lakeview? I've been getting about 2 mb down 3 mb up even when I'm outside on 4G.

Would switching to a Spark enabled phone help at all?

Dude, yes. Yes times a million. Simply put: Chicago has 5 LTE carriers, and you're missing out on the 2 most important ones--big time speed/capacity, and the extended reach network. Also, make sure that phone has carrier aggregation (most phones released this year).

  7. And for the peen-swinging purposes, here's a Clearwire site 2 hours ago in Chicago at 79th and Western. Sprint has their ish together these days, and these are finally those golden days they've been speaking about for years.

  8. With AT&T for me, the peaks would be between 80-105mbps, average around 20-40mbps, and low about 5-7 Mbps. Just a few months ago it could barely break 30 in most places in my suburban corner.

For me, at least, this basically mirrors my Sprint experience at this point in time in our market. This was from my couch the other day:

  9. the parking lot is great! A tower is located with in sight of the lot with one sector pointed at the north lot, and the other pointed at the east lot. This tower is a full build with 2 band 41 carriers, had hd you tube without hesitation in a full lot. The DAS however drown out that band 41 and the band 25/26 DAS quickly becomes overloaded for most antennas servicing the seats.

  10. I'm actually incredibly happy with the network performance of my 6s. It's by far, the best performing device I've ever used on Sprint, and I've used a bunch. I rarely see 3G anymore, even in the dense forest areas that I travel daily on my commute. It switches to, and hangs on to b26 like a champ. And when I drop signal too much, and "LTE" disappears, it returns after a brief second or two, whereas it used to just dump straight to 3G without a hesitation. I'm not sure if it's the carrier bundle, the radio, or iOS. Whatever it is, I'm happy, and I'm guessing others are, too, because it's been very quiet in this thread lately.

  11. Since when do they not allow updates over LTE under 100 meg? I'm coming from 9.1 beta 5, update is 30 or so meg and it's telling me I need to be on wifi.

Apps/App updates >100mb must be on wifi. And OS updates have to be on wifi, too. No cellular OS updates allowed.

  12. How is it any different? iOS Field Test has barely changed in years. It is both good and terrible. It does not even use the correct terminology. For example, UARFCNs are for W-CDMA, not LTE.

Honestly, I am surprised that Apple just has not erased or blocked access to Field Test entirely.

Something is different with the 6s, and it sometimes throws a bunch of weird numbers around in there. Other times, it works as usual. It's not an iOS 9 thing, it's a 6s thing.

  13. Apple released SIM free iPhones last night. I'm in the Apple store right now and they're trying to activate the unlocked 6So just bought over the phone, but the IMEIs apparently are not yet whitelisted.

Is there a way to get Sprint to manually add one to their whitelist?

I believe you need to call sprint and have them put in a "click it ticket" (I think that's what it's called). It basically is a ticket for adding an IMEI to their database.

  14. I am absolutely loving my 6s Plus on Sprint....can't say that enough. Once I got the activation issues worked out, it has been attaching to LTE like a dream. I don't think any 2x CA is live in my market yet, but when it is OMG. Sprint is going to be able to leverage this iPhone into something great for themselves, PR-wise. It runs fantastically on their network.

As of now, I also have no complaints. The LTE is incredibly strong, and it switches bands like it should. Weak signal? Band 26. Hey, what an idea! [emoji3]

  15. Anyone else have their phone lag and stutter around for the first little bit when they opened it? It's like it can't keep up to what I wanna do. But I'm not doing anything really strenuous on it.

Let it load for the rest of the day, then charge it up, and give it a power+home reset. It eventually clears up. iOS 9 is just laggy in general, and ruined my iPhone 6+. I installed the public beta of 9.1 today, and 95% of the lag is gone.

  16. Well. Swapped to a 6S. Super weird being on the smaller phone again but I couldn't take the size/weight. Had my credit class upgraded to so I'll get back my $400. Woot! Ended up with a gold 128 since our company has zero 64gb's in any colors right now.

Lucky. I've owned my 6s for 7 days, and have only used it for 2. It died on Sunday, and I've been unable to get a swap at Apple because they're out of stock--which kills my theory of separate replacement inventory. We have 9 Apple stores in the Chicagoland area, so I have a busy weekend ahead.
