  1. I carried around one of those mini bluetooth keyboards for a while using my original S2 and S3, but when i upgraded i found this S4 keyboard case and was pleasantly surprised by how well it works. I does get a bit janky when the battery is low but it works! Every year that passes though is another year i miss my G1 keyboard a little more...

Looks like there's hope for the S5 getting a version:

Edit:  The Canadian offshoot appears to have it in stock:

  2. Is this the AP, coaches' poll, or computer rankings?

Regardless, it looks like I am locked in for the S4GRU Championship Game.

But who will secure that second spot?  PDXmike, PythonFanTN, Alabama, Florida State, or Oregon?

    :P

    AJ

I'll defer my spot to Alabama.

  3. ok i get it. stupid question. jesus christ, just delete my account. 4chan is friendlier than you people.

I wouldn't take any of it personally....alot of people (and I count myself chief amongst them here) just have edgy senses of humor and like to have a little fun sometimes.  No worries mate, and welcome to S4GRU btw!

  4. Back in 2012, I bought an Evo Design 4g. WiMax. I was told by the sales rep that we would have 4g in my area by early 2013. I don't know if he was actually right, but eventually we got LTE, not WiMax. I feel like I was promised a service that was never provided for my phone, as I didn't get 4g till I got a new Nexus 5 at the beginning of March.

Did anyone else have this issue, or am I maybe over reacting? Is it a big deal or should I not worry about it?

Re-read the first emphasized phrase above, and then ask yourself the 2nd emphasized question.  Unless there's more detail involved such as hand-me-downing the Evo to someone else on a still-active line possibly, it would seem like you fairly well answered your own question.  ;)

Even that aside, as a former Epic 4G (WiMax based) phone owner myself (and have had to revert back to it twice now while waiting for TEP claim replacements to arrive), in my area I knew going in I'd likely never see it here anyway....but still, technology and, in this case, networks evolve.  There's really no reason to dwell on the past vs. enjoy the present and look forward to the even brighter future.

  5. lowering the deal is great but if it can't get approved by doj/fcc it won't matter...

You could be on to something though, Masa might be playing chess... I just can't see where this is going though.. then again I am not Masa either.

I just can't see how sprint/tmo/voda works out. Buying voda will help him in the US market how?  He will still own sprint who needs a make over. Wait... Someone mentioned earlier... maybe Buy voda, buy tmo, sell off most of sprint to dish?

That seems like a big mess though.

I can see your lack of understanding, because I know I share it in many ways....but at the same time, we are simply end users/customers and keep looking at things like this with from a very limited personal perspective.  We don't understand the overall big picture/engineering/corporate dynamics of everything as someone like Masa who lives in it daily does.

The analogy that keeps popping in my head reading your posts is Doc Brown repeatedly having to correct Marty because 'you're just not thinking 4th-dimensionally'.  We're probably lower on the totem pole than Marty even because we're not close friends with Masa/Hesse/etc.

  6. I've hesitated to even post in this thread because, as I told Robert in a reply to a PM I received, I was surprised to begin with to even be on the initial list at all, but even more than that, I was frankly floored/speechless when I saw I was #3---I never in my wildest dreams would have, if asked beforehand, thought I'd have even ranked on that list much less so high.

I 100% echo Ben's comments, and will further state when playing off mike's about stirring up competition (though I'm sure he said it in jest), I for one actually will be extremely proud if/when people bypass me on the ranking of the list, because that will mean more people are stepping up to the plate to help Robert keep the S4GRU ship afloat.  I don't remember now how long it took me from my join date to submit my first donation, but I can tell you as a member here for a year a half now, once I felt compelled to do so, I've never felt compelled to stop supporting the efforts of this place nor never regretted continuing being able to help out in ,what I always thought at the time, was only a small drop in the bucket.   And as I've seen and experienced firsthand the gradual improvements of Network Vision, that certainly has only further bolstered confidence in not only my continual decision to stick with Sprint, but my pride in having found and becoming a member of this place.

I've said it before and it still rings true, because compared to many other parts of my day, I don't always have alot of time to try and keep up with everything posted here on a day to day basis, much less try and memorize or worse try and retain the things I learn here at any given moment of perusing the forums.  So, I still often time feel in many ways like an uneducated idiot within these virtual walls even after a year and a half.  But even with that said, I have learned an immeasurable amount of information and insight about things that I had literally a blank slate by comparison with prior to coming here.  And the thanks for that are totally a result of what Robert, AJ, and so many others who were regulars/vets here long before I came around have posted and contributed here.

  7. So I guess my question would be then that what good would come from it for sprints sake from buying vodafone out here in the u.s. particularly.

The one central/most obvious thing would be what Masa has been preaching even before the Sprint acquisition....better economy of scale and better strength of position, in particular when it comes to buying devices from phone manufacturers.
