  1. I have been following the Malaysian flight 370 mystery and I keep hearing talk about cell phone and why no one tried to make a call. If the media is correct when the plane turned west they crossed land in an area that was populated, so even if they were 20,000 plus feet up wouldn't be possible for someone to get signal? Unless they were taken or disabled. I flown many times and turned my phone on or off airplane mode over land and picked up a signal I'm not sure what altitude I was but had to be fairly high up. I know over water a signal is a lost cause, but what about GPS? Do you have to have cell service? If I remember correctly I have been using GPS and went into a no service area and was still able to use my GPS.

  2. My wifes has family that works for a NASCAR team. He told me even that most teams get greatly discounted services and lots of freebies from Sprint , that many teams including his have been using different networks for their mobile services. At first it was being taken off Nextel or the iden network to Sprints network for direct connect that didn't work as well, then when smart phones become more popular the slow data pushed most teams to another network mainly to big red. Hopefully Sprint can regain there business with moves like this. They need to show they have a new network and its a lot better than what they were previous getting.

  3. Coming from person that don't have any high speed internet other than a Verizon LTE air card that seems to get slower ever month, it sucks not having a wire service. After many calls and signed petition from a large number of people, Charter (our cable internet provider in the Greenville Sc area) seems to lose it ever time when I make a follow-up call to check the status. AT&T isn't any better, when I call them I'm told "theirs no dsl slots left and no u verse available to you at this time, but we will notify you when a slot opens up for dsl". I have spoken with several different field techs from At&t that work my area, they all have told me there's plenty of dsl slots open, but they have stopped offering new services on dsl because they have a few area's close by that now have u verse, and are planning to phase dsl out, but yet they have no plan to run anymore fiber for u verse. I'm starting to feel like a T-Mobile customer ; as soon as I get a mile out of city limits I have 2g service.

Say if YouTube is changed more from AT&T not to slow them down, and youtube said no we want pay you this fee . If Sprint uses AT&T for backhaul, would this affect Sprints speeds too?

  4. LTE 800 can be turned on quickly at an LTE 1900 site. It's just an install of an 800MHz LTE carrier card at the base station cabinet. And a fire up by an LTE integration tech. A few hours. One tech could probably do three a day if there wasn't a lot of travel time between.

The biggest issue with firing up LTE 800 is getting cards from the OEM's (which have been slow coming so far) and getting the markets clear of incumbent SMR public safety licensees. The FCC has granted some extensions in some markets that is preventing Sprint from starting to deploy LTE on 800 in some areas. But it is happening. There are already 300 known active LTE 800 sites in Samsung and Ericsson markets. And more happening every day.

what about AL sites (southeast), is their a reason behind no LTE 800. Sorry if I have missed something!
  5. Just a thought... You might want to see if you can get one on Amazon or eBay.

I found them new on both sites, thanks! I was wanting otterbox to replace it but they have no stock left.
  6. can someone help me?!! Did Verizon or att make a version of the htc 4g lte? the reason I'm asking is

otter box don't have any replacement case left in stock and I need a new one.

  7. If a hard reset won't fix it then the accelerometer is bad.

Note that Sense won't let you rotate the Launcher, but apps like chrome should rotate.

Thanks, I will try a hard reset next. everything else works, so if a new device is needed I want have to forward all my call to my connect line and carry it around.
  8. I just got a new or refurbished EVO from Sprint , after waiting 8 days due to a back order issue. The new devices screen want auto rotate and yes my settings are set correctly, is there anything I can do, other than waiting on another week for a new device?

  9. Has anyone had a problem of there EVO randomly shutting down only when it in sleep mode? I have to do a soft reset to get it to come back on,(power button + volume down). I had a hard reset done twice no luck! Sprint ordered me a new phone but the EVO is on backorder, up to two weeks.

  10. Can someone please share the link to change the LTE scan time on this LTE challenged device. I think I have found a new way that sprint can build a stronger LTE network, all you have to do is make sure the EVO picks up on LTE and all areas will have great coverage for all other devices. LOL
