what chip set is currently being used? Why wouldn't the 3 or 4 different companies (samsung etc.) be installing them from the start of nv?I at one point was very concerned about this, however I think that the race to sleep also has benefits on the network side. In other words, carrier aggregation can provide a better experience. It isn't merely about e-wang whipping. It's about delivering far more capacity. The newer 20 nm network chipsets should be able to deal with 3 carrier aggregation just fine.

Since the 800mhz antenna are housed with the 1900mhz how are they adjusted? Can this be done without climbing the tower (remotely) from the site or in a office somewhere?
-
do they topically not adjust 800mh antennas until other neighboring sites have 800mhz installed?Yes, this is fairly typical. I have had the NV upgrades in service here for over a year. I normally see anywhere from a 10 to 15 DB
better signal on 800 over the 1900. Some buildings are very friendly to 800 and others are not. Depends on the construction of the building. I do not thinwk I ever seen anything worse than a 10 db improvement.
When you see reports of 800 not penetrating real well right now, I would suspect that the 800 signal is not coming from the same site as the 1900 OR the 800 antennas are still not optimized for best coverage. It can take some time(several months) until they get the antennas set up just exactly correct. The crews that hang the antennas on the towers or other structures are not the people that finally tweak them and make it all work correctly.
At my home, I initially had garbled voice service on CDMA 1X-800 for a few months until they hit my area and properly aimed the 800 antennas. It acted to me like I had about 4 800 signals hitting my home all at about a -85 level. Using signal check Pro, I could see I had one site that was primary, but it was moving around to 3 other sites quite often. Then I actually caught the optimizing guys in town doing the adjusting. My 800 voice is no longer garbled and works perfect. My main site did crash one day and the other sites were there to pick up the traffic but they were no longer causing distortion to each other.

yes.... But devices and the network is having problems now with deciding what frequency to choose with only a few different choices to pick from.Thank you Fraydog...that's what I thought.
Wow so if the merger does go through..The new Co will have
600/700/800/1700/2100/1900/2500
Jesus.

I have two sites near me. The closest site has LTE and cdma 800, it has been deployed for 5 months or so. The other site I bounce off of from time to time has LTE but no 800 deployed yet. Could this be why tilt might be off and has minimal power? All else being equal (including the frequency), CDMA 1x will have superior propagation to Ev-DO, thanks mostly to having a lower order of modulation. Sprint chose to not deploy Ev-DO on SMR, so Ev-DO will always have a weaker signal and drop out before 1x (on either frequency) does.
Assuming that all sites in your area are upgraded, 1xA 800 should be the absolute last type of Sprint signal to drop before you begin to roam or have no service. As ImmerStark said, it is likely they are still testing things at that site, because tests are usually conducted at minimal power output and full downtilt. If 1x800 coverage remains subpar for more than a week or two, I would let Sprint know that the site has been left improperly configured.

I have the issue of my 800mhz voice service being weaker than evdo and 1900mhz voice being the same or in some case better. I know that these signals are coming from the same site. Why is this? 800mhz is the stronger signal right? You can also be recieving a 1xrtt signal(either 800 or 1900) from one tower and ev-do from a different tower which is what appears to be happening at your office. If the 1xrtt 800MHz signal you are receiving were coming from the same tower as your ev-do it would be around -45dbm.

Among many other cons Sprint will be buying back a large portion of their old customer base back if they purchase T-Mobile. These new T-Mobile customers which are old Sprint customers will soon start seeing that service is not that great in areas outside the city and blame Sprint. This is a double edged sword for Sprint. Sprint should have done a better job educating their customers about NV and all its up and coming aspects and this wouldn't have happen. It's extremely expensive... With the plan pricing they're offering, they're spending months and months of revenue to acquire each customer, customers that are under no obligation to stay with T-Mobile.
It's funny you ask why T-Mobile needs to maintain their margins and then mention shareholder value. The only reason it's adding shareholder value is because it's more attractive as a takeover target. The TMUS share price is being completely driven by the anticipation of acquisition.
The fact that it makes them more expensive to acquire is perfect evidence that it's making them a more attractive target. That's how the market works.

help me out on the lingo "FTTH OTT" ?We need FTTH in this country to truly compete with cable. I don't know why AT&T/Verizon won't make the investment. Cord cutting is real. OTT over fiber/wireless is where it's at.

you are talking about the vmail app?I'm getting really tired of non working voicemail notifications... Has anyone found a fix?

If all this happens I hope Sprint can merge all these frequencys into one device and make it work. I have a EVO which isn't the best device, I can't switch from 1900 to 800 without roaming first and having to reset my connections to pick up 800 or dropping a call for all this to happen. Hopefully the new devices are better at handling this.

? Do you mean b26?I've been getting more b25 at my house but spotty one bar. Still 5 down and up. That's a sign they are improving something lol or my M8 is trying to beat a N5 in rf performance.

Nice!I picked that up off cedar lane rd in Berea at Wendy's getting food for me and a co worker.

Where did you pick this up at?Lte band 26 got 12.6 down and 4.9 up.

I have read that it will have the coverage of the current 3g footprint, so everywhere you currently have 3g you should expect to have LTE b26.Yeah I done get lte. I'm in a "fair" area. I'd rather have decent speed with B26 that ha e B25 or B41 insane speed that's spotty. Just curious to see how B26 performs when they flip it on.

I'm due for a upgrade and like the HTC m8, but it seems to already have RF problems and coming from a current EVO user this concerns me, i like everything else about the m8, but probably will pass on it, but on the other hand the s5 has such a low amount of internal memory that I know is very expandable with a sd card but still some apps want transfer to the sd card.We don't know. It would have been nice to see larger internal memory, but they have reasons why.

why will Sprint only be getting the 16GB and not the Larger internal memory models? Or will the Larger ones come later?Sprint is only getting the 16GB model with up to a 128GB microSD card support on board.

they have a awd highlander. The pilot is wide but that's where the room comes into play. It has a awesome turning radius tho. What is a Scooby? Thanks, the I have had a play with a Pilot and it is WIDE:) Maybe 4 inches wider than the highlander. Its an awesome vehicle and on the mainland I would buy one, hell if they shrink the width an inch or two on the new version it will be right up there with the highlander on my list. Sadly there are a lot of places here where width is an issue (both roads and parking), the scooby is on the list because it is something like 8 inches narrower than the pilot and 4 inches narrower than the highlander.
Thanks for the heads up re reliability, was that the awd or fwd transmission they had issues with? I know the 2014 has been tightened up to reduce that wallowing and diving which was pretty intense. I have to admit I put Honda and Toyota above most other non luxury makes for reliability.
-
We have a 13 Honda pilot awd its great in snow, mud and lose gravel. Got it October and have over 20000 miles and love it. Also it's a Honda Holds it vaule, great track record, room for 8, awesome ride, for the size great fuel mileage. Not saying any of the others are bad , but we have friends with a highlander and they have had transmission issues, and they say it handles poorly : a lot of body roll in turns and curves. I have seen a few pic of the 15 pilots they look bad ass.

if the location part of the device was on: not sure what its called, for example if you Google gas stations and your search pulls up gas stations that are around you. Wouldn't the device be traceable from this aspect? Or have I been watching to much law and order. What should be traceable?

that should be traceable right?GPS shouldn't need data. I have used GPS many times without turning on data. However you do need data if you want turn by turn navigation.
-
wouldn't that depend on what type of network you are on?I believe around 7000-10000ft in altitude is when cell phones start losing signal as far as cellular goes.
As far as flight 370 mystery goes, (1) the aircraft crashed into the ocean (2) it was hijacked and flown by a professional someone who knows how to pilot a commercial aircraft below radar...preferably someone with some type of military piloting.
If number two is what happened where did it go? Whats it going to be used for, a weapon? Only time will tell...
