  1. We have about $120 left to be fully funded.  Hopefully we can far surpass even that.  We need to make some money for the site.  I'm really surprised this one hasn't taken off.  If you've been waiting to join this one, it's now time to enter.  And if you have already entered, you can increase your chances further by entering again.

You should make the raffles a frontpage wall post, frankly I stumble upon this raffle by accident

  2. Have tried to get my MSL three times but sprint says since my phone is leased they won't give it to me. The paperwork given to me at Best Buy when I purchased only shows a Security Lock Code and that doesn't work.

Did you get an email from sprint when you activate your phone? That email contains your msl

  3. mine said ca not config

That mean ca is enabled on your phone but not in use, which band are you on? if you are on b41 that may mean that tower does not have ca yet.

although i have not seen this lately, on the early days of Chicago ca deployment, i have also seen case where the ca line will only show connection info when there is an active download in progress and show not config when the first line says idle, so if you are on unlimited or have lots of data to spare, try having an active download or speedtest in the background while you check *#0011# again.

if you are on b25/b26, b25/b26 ca is not supported by sprint at this point, so try getting on b41 and check again

  4. In West MI on my note 5 I consistently get between 80 and 100 where I have CA. Pretty sweet.

is this is semi-rural area or in a metro/suburban area? lmnopz live in SF and I live near Chicago, both are farily dense metro/suburban area

Did like you said, and yes it says: CA Enabled

Feeling a little better, test is faster this time. Thanks!

Also, sidenote: I purchased mine from Sprint Store and got the 1yr Amazon Prime deal. I wasn't aware at the time of the BestBuy $100 giftcard deal though... For those who did get their Note 5 at BestBuy are you eligible for the 1yr free Amazon Prime in addition to to the $100 giftcard? Or is the Amazon Prime deal exclusive to Sprint in-house purchases?

BTW, Thanks to whomever posted the $50 rebate/credit deal for signing up for Samsung Pay. I signed up for it anyways, but thanks to you I have a $50 rebate coming (hopefully).

Ok so CA is enabled, but let''s also double check that it is actually "IN USE"

if you do *#0011# about 5-6 lines down it should show

    CA-Add (S) BAND:41 BW:20Mhz <-- this should be exact match

    (S)Earfcn: #####d, PCI: ### <--- numbers can vary

if you don't see a valid line/numbers the tower may not support CA.

  5. expect real life average with CA on none congested towers to be between 20-40mbps, 60mbps+ are only on idle towers and you would need a RSRP better than -90dbm to achieve that (LTE speed is highly dependent on signal strength).  in my own experience 60mbps+ is not unusual, but not common either.  I have only once managed to pull > 100mbps personally

  6. 2 questions about using Google Now/Search on your Note5 for you guys:

    1) when you say "navigate to Target", does it pop up a Google Search or Navigation? I'm getting Google Search.

    2) if you have NPR One app installed, can you "say listen to NPR" (with screen off, ie through bluetooth headphones, will the news start playing? Mine won't, it'll recognize the command, but never play the story.

I've reached out to Google without response and I've reached out to NPR with great response. They claim it's a Note5 issue and other devices work just fine.

    Sent from my Sprint Note5

    Through "Ok google"

    1) at first the google now page would pop up showing the route, but then google map would pop up into Navigation mode.

    2) I don't have NPR, i listen to them via tunein on the local NPR channel, when i say listen to tunein it just start the app up but doesn't play anything

  8. You'd think it would be faster this time around considering that Samsung announce it was working on the firmware back in August/july

Nope, its been like this for a decade ever since the first smartphones back in the Palm Treo days

  9. As long as we are talking about samsung pay, don't forget sprint and Samsung is offering $50 sprint bill credit for buying and activating samsung pay between oct15-nov30, and free wireless charger (up to 200k gifts) for activating samsung pay Oct 28-nov 8.

Fine prints say cannot combine offer but I'm giving both a shot. ... if you are only going for one the $50 bill credit is the better of the 2 as wireless charger is pretty cheap

  10. Any word on 6.0 for the S6/S6 edge

Won't be for months.... for carrier approval typically we are looking at at least 3 months after the international rom release and we havn't heard anything on the international ROM yet either

  11. Online it says new two year contract for 149 but a 2 year extension is still 249...what's the difference..I'm due my 2 year upgrade..

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Not sure.... in store when i did the upgrade it rung up as $149, the price label on the display said $149 also, I should have took a picture so we can reference the fine prints on it but did not

  12. This is my first Samsung phone, but it certainty won't be my last! The build quality is phenomenal and the performance is great with that 4GB of ram.

But you would think the phone sucks going by the amount of forum interest.

Sent from my SM-G928P using Tapatalk

if its the same price as the note 5, i may consider.... also I'm interested in the VR headset stuff, I'm not sure if the dual edges would negatively affect the experience.  I will probably buy one of the new samsung VR headset when they come out

  13. So far, Samsung Pay has bee a lot of fun using, mostly due to the cashiers' funny and surprised reactions. I've so far used it successfully at Walmart, Target, Smart & Final, H-Mart, Costco, CVS, and Autozone. Only place it failed was TJ Maxx.

Sent from my SM-G925P using Tapatalk

It worked for you at Costco? I tried samsung pay MST with my Amex and the swipe terminal said card read error, there was a long line behind me, so I didn't want to hold the line up and just swipe the card
