  1. Pretty much everything around me already had B30 deployed, so I can't really tell if they are slowing down/stopping deployment for now. I have noticed that since it was reduced to 5x5 that I don't connect to it as the primary carrier much anymore, but still see it active in CA all the time. I figure that is because the uplink suffers so much at only 5MHz. From other peoples posts on the HoFo speed test thread it looks like most of the country is still 10x10 on B30. Hopefully they can get something figured out with it and go back to 10x10 here, which would give them 170MHz deployed spectrum in Louisville. Also discussed this a little bit here (post #4 links a map of SiriusXM repeaters): https://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1909330-AT-amp-T-Band-30-shrinking-from-10mHz-to-5mHz-Channel
  2. I came across this article today, has some interesting info and some cool pics of AT&T's lab setup. https://www.zdnet.com/article/at-t-5g-behind-the-scenes-in-texas-as-the-new-mobile-network-goes-live/
  3. I received the below email today about Google shutting down its Fusion Tables tool. I know many of us have and still use fusion tables for our market maps here on S4GRU. Looks like we've got a year to migrate to a new platform. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  4. Hey Mike, would it be possible to change SCP to identify AT&T B14 by EARFCN vs GCI pattern? After doing some analysis on my log, looking the the B14 thread on Howard Forums and the netmapper map it appears to wildly vary by market what AT&T used for B14 sectors. The EARFCN should be consistent across the country. This would keep you from having to set several different patterns for B14. Here is what I found: Louisville KY, Lexington KY, and Nashville TN use BF-C4 Louisiana, Ohio, Texas - D7-D9 Alabama - C4-C6 some of California, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington St,: AB-AD New York, New Jersey - D2-D3 Chicago & Northern Indiana, 2B- 2D Oklahoma and Missouri - D4-D6 Some California - C2- C5 I've also noticed that in NYC the B2 2nd carrier is AB-AD, which is the same as my B4 2nd carrier here in Louisville and the same as B14 in several markets.
  5. I came across this article on FierceWIreless and found it interesting. They analyze Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint's network traffic and find which LTE bands are carrying the load for each network. The biggest surprise to me was how much of Verizon's traffic is on B4/B13. AT&T and Sprint are about what I'd expect from personal experience. Anybody else surprised by one of the carriers? https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/exclusive-spectrum-bands-carrying-most-data-broken-down-by-carrier
  6. AT&T currently has 160 mhz of deployed spectrum in Louisville, KY. Band 2: 20x20 (08-0D) + 5x5 (B5-BA) Band 4: 10x10 (16-1B) + 5x5 (AB-B0) Band 5: 5x5 (01-06) Band 12: 10x10 (0F-14) Band 14: 10x10 (BF-C4) Band 30: 5x5 (95-9A) (was 10x10 but was reduced a few months ago, I never found out why) Band 66: 10x10 (I've still only seen true B66 in CA SCC, haven't picked up any GCI info for it yet for here.) South of Louisville Band 2 changes to the following due to Bluegrass Cellular owning 5mhz in the middle of the 20x20 carrier. 10x10 (08-0D), 5x5 (B5-BA), and 5x5 (D3-D8)
  7. I've observed GCI endings 23, 3F, and 63 for AT&T B2 small cells, very small sample so far though. Hopefully I keep finding more of these. Also posted in the AT&T discussion:
  8. That is what I am observing over a fairly large area, mostly KY, some southern IN, and Southern IL. The 2nd and 3rd PCS as well as the 2nd AWS carrier do seem to be limited to my GCI zone, Looking through my logs I don't really see it for other areas. I've got data in my log from trips to Chicago, New Orleans, and Cincinnati all driving from Louisville, just haven't had time to do more than glance over it yet. From what I've seen glancing through it most looks to be the same as here except for B14 seems to be different in each major city. (I can send you my log file if you'd like to look over it, I've logged almost 7,000 rows of data.) The 3rd PCS carrier is only in areas where Bluegrass Cellular owns part of PCS A block. From just south of Louisville going northward AT&T has a 20x20 carrier live on 08-0D DL EARFCN 700. They've just recently turned up an additional 5x5 PCS carrier on sites that have received the recent network upgrades centered on EARFCN 1125 using B5-BA. South of Louisville Bluegrass owns 5 MHz in the middle of the 20x20 carrier deployed in Louisville. Its split up around it to a 10x10 on EARFCN 650 (08-0D) and a 5x5 at 775 (B5-BA). The additional carrier that is being deployed now at EARFCN 1125 is the 3rd PCS carrier on D3-D8 . Its only on upgraded sites, so it must require a new or different radio configuration. I don't have a very large sample size yet as they seem to be focusing on urban areas first for the upgrades. Here is the B2 I've hit from a site in Elizabethtown KY:
  9. I've also came across a handful of B2/B46 small cells around Louisville. https://imgur.com/htH521Q https://imgur.com/uMUDgnx https://imgur.com/yhkVwX5 https://imgur.com/s8i5rCu https://imgur.com/adtPOQh
  10. I'm seeing a lot of sites in Louisville and Lexington KY being converted from the traditional 3 sector to 4 or 6 sector sites. 4 Sector site, The sector on the right side has the new dual zone antennas while the sector on the left still has the original setup. This site had just received the network upgrades to add bands 5, 14, and 66 about a month or two before this conversion. https://imgur.com/ltLptgE This site in Lexington has just been converted to a 6 sector site. New antenna panels all the way around. This site also has about 4 or 5 unique GCIs broadcasting from it across all 6 sectors. Bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 30, and 66 are all live. https://imgur.com/E44vtkw https://imgur.com/CHAXehv https://imgur.com/cogHGCX https://imgur.com/lT4WC4Z https://imgur.com/0Z1bPMS https://imgur.com/esPi5Hj
  11. Already loving the LTE 750 designation for band 14. Makes it much easier to spot while driving. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  12. Do you have a picture of the new site by chance? I found a new site over in Jeffersonville, IN awhile back that was only one antenna panel per sector, vs the usual 3 to 4 per sector on everything else around here. The single antenna panel was very similar to Sprint's Hexadecaport antenna they started deploying. Last time I was over there it was only broadcasting bands 4/12 though.
  13. Around here in Louisville, KY band 5 is being added as part of the network upgrades adding bands 14 and and 66. There is pretty good coverage of b5/b14/b66 across the city now.
  14. As luck would have it I actually found this new carrier today in an area where it is the 3rd carrier. I hit the north sector, so assuming the pattern follows the same as all of the other bands it should be D3, D4, D5 (D6, D7, D8 for 6 sector sites) for the 3rd PCS carrier. I'll try to hit this site again when I have time and confirm the other 2 sectors.
  15. Hey Mike, I recently noticed that on AT&T the B2 second carrier notation is only working on two sectors currently. I also have a secondary B4 carrier that isn't noted at all. See picture below. For reference, here is what I've observed in my area for GCI patterns for each band. We have a couple of 6 sector sites and now they are converting quite a few normal 3 sector sites to be 4 sector sites. The 4th sector follows the 6 sector pattern for the sector that split. B2 - 08, 09, 0A (0B, 0C, 0D) B2 2nd carrier - B5, B6, B7 (B8, B9, BA) B2 3rd Carrier - D3, D4, D5 (D6, D7, D8) B4 - 16, 17, 18 (19, 1A, 1B) B4 2nd carrier - AB, AC, AD (AE, AF, B0) B5 - 01, 02, 03 (04, 05, 06) B12 - 0F, 10, 11 (12, 13, 14) B14 - BF, C0, C1 (C2, C3, C4) B30 - 95, 96, 97 (98, 99, 9A) For B66, the only site I've hit B66 on used the same pattern as the B4 second carrier in my area, but I'm pretty sure that area doesn't have a B4 second carrier deployed. Not sure what they'll use for B66 here. I'm also seeing an additional 5x5 B2 carrier popping up in areas with a 20x20 carrier existing, using the 2nd carrier pattern noted about. Areas outside of the city that are not 20x20 already have a 2nd B2 carrier deployed. If they deploy that carrier outside of the city there may be sites with 3 B2 carriers, I haven't seen this yet though.
  16. Everything is working good on my S9+. I hit actual B66 last week and SCP identified everything correctly.
  17. After an OS update on my GS9+ yesterday, B66 appears to be showing correctly now. Notice it in the neighbor cell list. Usually shows up at B2 or B3. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  18. So is this the android Earfcn bug? First time I've noticed it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  19. Not sure if I caught this in testing or if this is supposed to be live, but looks like AT&T is starting to fire up B14. This is the first of it that I have seen. SCP correctly Identified it.
  20. I am now getting the blocked message too. Got it both on my office WiFi today and now at home. I'm unable to sign in on either my phone, laptop, or desktop at home now. I am able to get to the site on my phone on LTE to post this. Here is the error I am getting on my laptop.
  21. Not sure if it's a known issue or not, just hit a site with a PCI of 0, and the app doesn't display it. Also, is there a way to hide 1x data when connected to LTE? I'd like to have the screen real estate for neighbor cell info. No other issues to report on the current beta. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk
  22. Picked up this phone on Saturday and I love it so far. One of my favorite features so far is it shows a battery indicator in the status bar for my blue tooth headset. Many improvements over my aging Nexus 6, and the free TV doesn't hurt.

  24. My Ericsson markets (Both East and West KY) did this change over a year ago. B25 second carrier followed soon after for us. The Nashville market is still on the 169 offset as of the last time I was down there, about a month ago. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
