Sprint definitely needs it in NYC. I roam a lot. Look on Sensorly, which Sprint uses as reference, there are quite a few areas that are low in signal. Including in but not limited to Manhattan, without mentioning towers with signal but no service all over the city.
I personally one of Sprint's numerous mistakes in the past was in not prioritizing the tops markets. T-Mobile is not great outside of cities to this day, but few of it's customers know that.
I only recall roaming twice in NYC. Once was in a club located in the basement of a building. The second time was also in a sub basement where a company I use for work has a repair shop. They even have an AT&T extender wired through the stairs to the ground level just to get signal in there office. I would have to say in Manhattan I am 90% of the time on B41 and the rest on B25/B25.

The site is still offline. I contacted Sprint on Friday and they gave me a ticket number with no current ETR. I really hope this is for M-MIMO.
This site was back on the 10th to 15th and now its offline again. It getting out of control. I'm really curious what keeps breaking.

Ive tried to force band 4 or 2 no go..
I disabled Band 25, 26 and 41 only to get pushed down to 3G. When I do this on Long Island I get placed on T-mobile. I wonder if its just getting enabled Market by market or if t-mobile has restricted roaming in certain markets they don't want there network to be affected.

I got T-mobile roaming in the Long Island market yesterday when a Sprint tower went down. Didn't think they would allow Tmobile roaming in that scenario. Besides a tower going down I've never been in a no sprint service scenario in the market
-
Last night I had T-Mobile roaming on Long Island. Has anyone be able to connect in the NYC market yet?

The Clear B41 site near my office was being weird all last week. On Monday and Tuesday it was working normal again. Now it's completely turned off. It would be a prime location for M-MIMO

Last night my home tower completely shut down for a few hours. As a result my GS9 was bouncing between 2 or 3 different near my house but only a 1x or 1x800 signal. I think at one point it went to Verizon 1x. since these 1x signal were so weak I wondered what my Essential Phone was connecting to since the RF performance its terrible. To my surprise it was connected to Clearwire B2, which means it was T-Mobile. I was really surprised that T-Mobile roaming was live for these types of situation and for the LI market. I would have though it was a tower by tower basis like T-mobiles roaming with At&t.The essential phone also connected to Clearwire B4. Speeds were around 30 to 50 Mbps so its seem like roaming is not throttled at all. Keep in mind this was am so that's why speeds were that fast.

https://twitter.com/kc_holzinger/status/1042042955794661377I was there on Sunday and didn't noticed it any B41. The 30mhz of PCS and the 10mhz of B26 was performing very well. It wasn't busy like weekday rush hour but it was still busy for a Sunday.
Tuesday evening I noticed the B41 and its performance was amazing. I was back there last night and hit over 150mbps on B41.

Saw this in Penn station today on the track level. Would never have B41 that far ground unless im on the west side of the tracks. This was all the way to the east. Pulled 100Mbps on that signal.

I swear the Clear site near me in Midtown has issues every other month. It finally got 2xCA UPload and then a few weeks later there is no upload at all. They really need to replace it with MMIMO. It will go from having 100Mbps Download and 8Mbps upload to maxing out at 10Mbps download and .30Mbps upload. Tech support was helpless yesterday.

Any place north of 167 in the Bronx or Manhattan(due to spectrum limitations, they need to deploy non contiguous B41 CA to add third carrier and beyond)is limited to 2xCA. Every other borough, including Queens, Manhattan, BK, SI and LI are all chock-full of 3XCA.
Surprised you didn't bring up the fact that hes was still using a note 7 until he just got the Note 9

I chatted with support about wanting a Magic box and they had no problem ordering me one. They said I would have it in 3 to 5 days. Not sure what model it will be. I thought they were out of stock of all of the previous models and the new ones aren't available until November
-
Is that a M-MIMO antenna? Looks pretty square for a standard Sprint set up. Or could be one of those 9 beam antennas too
-
Any news about the Gen3/4th version of the Magic box? I called a few times in July and August and they kept saying later and later dates each time. Has anyone received the Gen 3 yet?

You can force it to roam on any of the carriers that Sprint has an agreement with. Under wireless settings, you can select which network you want it to use.

on the GS9 you can only do that if you change the network mode to GSM/UMTS mode which means no LTE roaming

using a GS9 in London now. Spent the $25 for a week of high speed data. 5 days in and I'm almost at 2GB so for high data usage its better to go this way than keep open world. The main network for Sprint is O2. I think I connected to Vodafone once so far. I do have problems connecting once in a while and dropping to HSPA. Speeds are slow but I think this is due to not having all the bands on the GS9 and not having CA for the Bands I have. Haven't gone past 15Mbps download.
I also brought my Essential phone and put an EE sim card in. they are known as the biggest and fastest LTE network. They use band 7 which is also 2600mhz and when i connect to that and/or CA I've seen speed over 100mbps. on the glaxy on O2 I haven't seen faster than 15mbps
-
i've still noticed not all sites have 10x10 on the second carrier. Especially in Long Island. I'' have keep a look out since I am not on B25 to often.

This should help the congestion issues in the surrounding area when games are going on. And it was probably much cheaper than a DAS

Do you have SCP screen shots. Curious how that displays MIMOA little M-MIMO preview action!
