I've been on LI for the past week and where I am staying my S20 says 5G, so I thought it was the same case as before. But after a little digging the local cell tower doesn't even have B71, so I would assume there is no NR71. Why would the site then tell my phone to display the 5G logo. 

Is T-Mobile displaying the 5G logo if enough towers in the area have 5G active?

If you download the samsung band selector app you'll notice that all the T-Mobile 5G NR bands still aren't available. I'm hoping they don't forget about us.

Unlocked S20s don't have NR71 enabled yet. I have the same issue. You'll noticed Speedtest app still says LTE. When I had NR41 It would say 5G.

The other question is whether T-Mobile will force firmware updates. Sprint typically did not.

I have the unlocked model and it seems like thats the reason, Deff not a regional thing since I am in NYC. Do you know if i can flash my phone to the Sprint build some how?

Unfortunately I am still not connecting to N71 or any of the Millimeter wave. This is confirmed by checking *#0011#. I checked the band selection app and none of the t-mobile 5G bands show up to select. I used to be able to check ##DATA# and see what LTE bands were enabled but that screen doesn't work anymore.  Hopefully they don't forget to enable the bands for us Unlocked users. It annoying only have t-mobile Fake 5G / LTE when Sprint LTE and 5G were both faster

New update for unlocked S20 5G Ultra. Hopefully enables T-Mobiles 5G bands

Hopefully this update doesn't take long. It seems like everyone here has the unlocked model. Im curious about the experience someone with a Sprint Model is having.

N71 can't use b71 as the anchor band. It can only use B2 or B66. ENDC is only enabled on those bands, and whenever you're connected to them the device will say 5G even if you aren't connected to run NR carrier.

Interesting. I know this tower has 5G N71 and B71. I got my phone to connect to B71 and then the phone me says LTE which makes sense. I put a T-Mobile SIM in the phone and it connects to N71. I wonder if this is due to N71 not being enabled on the unlocked S20 with the ACCT update.

When i check the signals via *#0011# it doesn't show the phone connected to any NR signal so I don't know if it just doesn't show it or if T-mobile is listing LTE as 5G now. 

When n71 is used with B66 can the phone also agrigate other LTE bands?

I don't mind having access to TMobile 600mhz but my phone isn't even connecting to it. Just Band 66, 2 and 12 and it still says 5G which is a flat out lie.  Maybe the unlocked S20 don't have the software update for B71 yet.

My unlocked S20 is now connecting to T-Mobile Bands by default. Still says 5G but account to the debug screen I am not connect to any NR signal. So now I actually don't have 5G at home since before I could connect to a NR41 signal,. 

Not even connecting to B71, I am currently using CA with 66, 2 and 12.

Has anyone with a 5G phone found that speeds are faster when they turn off 5G. Here is a speed test from the same location, time, and server. LTE was blazing fast and 5G was slow and very unstable. 

I ordered the unlocked S20 Ultra 128Gb so I can still get it in black. Does anyone know what SIM card I need? I need to find a store that is open as well since the phone will be delivered tomorrow. 

What am I loosing if i purchased the unlocked model from Samsung over the Sprint Model. I always have my Sprint one unlocked after 50 days anyway. Will the unlocked model download the sprint software like my current unlocked Sprint S10 will download whichever carriers software when a sim card is inserted?

That's my plan for now wasn't sure how flexible Fedex was with this. It seems like the fedex location will have to be close to the delivery location, which isn't so close to where I live. 

I also just called today and they are saying it will ship by April 4th and be delivered by April 7th.

They really botch this roll out of the S20 Ultra 5G. They really under estimated the demand.

Speeding Ticket

Anyone still waiting for there Sprint S20 Ultra 5G 512GB from Samsung? I ordered mine on March 5th. I also order the Galaxy Buds and the Red Leather Case. Got an email right after that the Case was backordered and everything else would be delivered by March 24th. The next day I get another confirmation that everything will arrive on March 24. After about 10 or 12 days I checked the status and the delivery date of the phone Changed to March 31st and all the accessories have no date. Contacted Customer support Via Chat a few times and they all tell me I will hear back by Email in 2 to 3 days and I have yet to hear back. Hopefully the phone ships tomorrow as its the only way it will arrive by March 31st now. 

I also tried to change the delivery address since I had it shipping to my Office so it wouldn't sit in my apartment building unattended. Now do to the full shut down of businesses I want to change it to my apartment but Samsung doesn't allow changes. They told me to cancel the order and replace it. I would loose the $200 Promo and when check to see if I could order the same phone now it says it won't ship until March 30th. Now when I check it say the combination is unavailable.

I haven't tried between 10pm and 7am in a long time but all other hours of the day it's about the same as the screenshot. 

You can see in the screenshot that when the test starts its always higher and then slows down a lot. at the start it usually peaks at around 30Mpbs

Here are 3 speed test the same day at different M-MIMO sites.

1. 30th Ave Station in Astoria at 8:30am
2. Broadway station in Astoria at 6:30Pm
3. 5th Ave and 34th St. Outside Empire state building. At 6:00pm

What could cause the 2nd site to perform so poorly. If it was congestion wouldn't the upload be much slower. Been having these slow speeds for a few months now.
