  1. I just stopped at the Los Lunas site. There are no new cabinets or RRU's or panels present. But it looks like a new MW radome was installed with conduits running to the Sprint cabinets.

Oddly, this site has four sectors. I've never seen that before. It looks like it was a two sector highway site originally and they added sectors facing the two opposite directions from the highway when demand required it. Los Lunas was a rapid growth area in New Mexico until the recession.

I will go to the Los Alamos/White Rock site tomorrow to see what I can see.

I will keep my eyes open at abq sites.

  2. Speaking of multi-view...

Is there a way to add apps to the multi-view side bar, or are we limited to just the ones Samsung has put there? I see the EDIT button. But only allows me to remove the ones there, not add any new apps.

I don't really need the list of apps there used in tandem with each other, but rather those apps in tandem with apps not shown.

if you go over to xda and install a custom Rom, some of them give that ability, however,I don't think stock will let you do that.

  3. OK. I got my new Nexus 4 today. I kind of find it hard to hold and type on, it's kind of slick. Even slicker than the GS3 and Note 2.

I activated it on Tmo 4G monthly prepaid. I am not impressed with their network here in Espanola, NM. Only one of the five sites locally have HSPA/HSPA+. All the rest run EDGE only.

Here are my HSPA and HSPA+ speed screen shots tonight. I hope it's better in Santa Fe or ABQ. Interestingly, the download speeds were better on HSPA than HSPA+.

  4. I would recommend Ubiquiti's products. They are designed for outdoor use and you just run a CAT5 to them. Do it once and forget about it. I wouldn't toy with the little kiddie routers and access points that Linksys, netgear, etc put out. You get what you pay, and the Ubiquiti stuff is very well priced!
you can get 1000 ft of Ethernet for around a hundred or so on monoprice.com. run it to your barn and put an access point out there. Plus you never know when you might find having internet in your barn useful.

  5.

That is actually what I am looking at now. it might be an easier option that trying to range extend however I would have thought, based upon my little understanding of radio waves, is that I could just put some sort of repeater however I don't think that will work

search for "ip baby monitor" lots of hits. You can either use your mobile connection or your wifi connection. There are plenty of routers that can act as repeaters. Either true repeaters or routers flashed with DD-wrt (search it). I would search for microwave repeaters too, you could shoot your internet signal to your barn then broadcast it there with another router.

  6. That's hard for me to imagine with how spotty Tmo FauxG is in my area. Tmo is not colocated on my site next to my house. Nearest Tmo site is 6 miles away and EDGE only. The closest HSPA+ site is 12 miles away and there are hills between us. I pretty much will only have Tmo "4G" if I am in town in Española or in Santa Fe/ABQ.

I came from T-Mobile. They had excellent coverage in Albuquerque and I averaged about 8Mbps down. The thing I couldn't stand is that they seem to only have 3g in cities. If I ever traveled to santa fe the edge network was unusable due to the how slow the latency was and the fact that I was traveling 75 on the highway. If t-mobile would have pushed for converting all of their towers to 3g intially, I think they would be a lot better off and probably wouldn't have lost me as a customer.
  7. Hey did you guys know there was LTE in Kansas City?

At long last Sprint offered to trade my Evo for the GS3. So far other them the navigation/home buttons I really like it. It will take some time to get used to it but I do feel like its a slight upgrade.

are you joking? Did you not know there was lte in Kansas city?!?

  8. The round table format ate hairy spiders when drunk. Its towers became bloated after swallowing a mouthful of baby formula. The baby ate his poisoned barbeque chicken ribs without A1 steak sauce. Fix the chair leg before somebody trips and breaks their sister's glass. It peed shards of LTE droppings from bubbly fermented apples

  9. need your input as to which of these phones will act better as a phone to make and receive calls, and which one of them has a better radio for 3g and lte data. thanks
based on lte alone I feel most here would recommend avoiding the evo lte.

  10.

There is a one handed setting that pushes the keyboard over to one side or the other. Although, I haven't used it yet. One handed operation is its one significant con. However, it is not an Achilles heel. But it will not be everyone. That's for sure.

thanks for the feedback Robert. Have you been using this as your primary cell device?

  11. It's a Lil bit of everything. The phone isn't too big like I thought it would be, I have better connection in places where my s3 had minor to no connection, and the battery life really does it for me. I work a 12 hour shift and with hour usage, I can go all day without a charge. it's basically a supersized s3 with a pen, with extra power (quad core), pentile-less screen. The only negative for is the lack of svdo but I never used it that much. It was very kinda just nice to have.
i really appreciate your feedback. I'm not too worried about the size as i spent about fifteen minutes playing with one in the store and almost couldn't readjust my eyes to my current phone (about four inches) that's great to hear about the experience with better signal strength. Has anyone been using Swype with their phone? Ate you able to type one handed pretty well?

  13. My note 2 people! Are you guys still enjoying the heck out of your device? I think I'm going to bite on it, but wondered if anyone that still has multiple devices has found themselves still using the s3 or is the note just so amazing that you wouldn't go back to anything else?
