  1. I'm down haha. I'm sure CL got the contract due to the price the bid. Also, there may be a maintenance aspect to the contract that came along with the bid for backhaul that a smaller company may not be able to fulfill.
  2. most definitely. I live right by it and check it every day. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  3. I've been experiencing some major issues this morning, unlike any to date. I am right near a tower and my signal will drop ehrpd connection then gain it back, then lose 1x connection, then lose both, then no connection. I have a feeling some work may be taking place. There was no crew at the tower I was having issues with, but maybe it's integration? This is the tower at Yale and Cesar Chavez
  4. I'm starting to think that inspectors who accept sites have left our state and are not returning until ABQ proper catches up with backhaul so they can justify their presence beyond a few sites. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  5. screen size is awesome and I'm sure digi is referring to the superb rf performance of the note 2 over the one (besides 800 ) as well. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  6. like it has been said on here before, T-Mobile is good in the New Mexico metro areas but unusable (data wise) outside of them. Sprint is hitting a few speed bumps, but once tri band lte is deployed it will be amazing! And plus you can now buy a tri band phone, so in essence, you can future proof yourself. 7. I don't think it changed anything related to smr though. I was just making the point that they removed smr from the prl intentionally. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  8. So I gave every modem a shot and nothing really came of it. I can still make a call on smr after about twenty seconds of connecting once in about five call attempts and can send a text to self occasionally. I'm determined to talk with someone at Sprint engineering as they have to know something or they wouldn't have pushed prl 2000. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
  9. I don't think it's a Rom or a PRL issue. I can install a sponsor PRL that enables smr and flash any ROM and connect to smr. The possible is using smr when connected. It is hit and miss for me, completely miss for some, and successful all the time for others. It's really weird. I think we know something is up or Sprint wouldn't have issued a special Prl blocking smr only for note 2's. The question is why does it do it and can it be fixed. 10. can you let us know what rom and baseband you are running? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  11. Does anybody think connecting to smr for the note 2 could be modem related? I'm not familiar enough with modems to really know for certain, but since different people are being able to connect and there are multiple modems I thought I would ask. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  12. That is because you are on a legacy tower that likely had insufficient backhaul in place. Once we start seeing lte turned on you will also see over 1mbps 3g speeds all over town pretty consistently. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  13. absolutely not. Sprint has quite a bit of 3g and with NV almost every site, rural or not, will have 3g and 4g, even if it only has 2g right now. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  14. is smr usable for you on the note 2? I can connect to it and occasionally make a call/text but sometimes it won't connect. Is yours solid I'm the Samsung market? I'm in an Ericsson market. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  15. you are probably right. I was worried about the ping too, it should be sub 100 if it was fiber. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  16. What confuses me is that mine will sometimes make a call/text and sometimes not while connected to smr. My gut is telling me if my phone was somehow faulty that it would never work. It's just really weird and I hope it's resolved soon. I wonder if there is anything we can do as far as making a claim with Samsung, although they would probably just push it off on Sprint which may be the source of the problem anyways. 17. So I flashed one of the sponsor prls and have had issues with smr, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I'm in an Ericsson market, Albuquerque to be exact. Has there be any news on smr and the note 2. Is it likely the tower and not just my phone? I've read up on the issue in this forum, but was curious if anyone had any new insight. 18. Your full bars is your.1x.signal strength. It is likely that your lte signal is much lower and hence your 3-4mb speed test. On a side note, It could also be overloading of the tower. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  19. You are wrong. They do bring up lte a tower at a time. NV 3g is the only technology that in some markets will come live in clusters! Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  20. I have been having issues making phone calls on smr at the Yale tower. Is this normal of testing or something that got setup wrong by the contractors? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  21. your average Sprint user is going to have no idea about bands and what phones have which bands. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  22. It's probably 'weather' related. Sorry...had to. If you can confirm that you can send/receive data whether on 3g or Wi-Fi then it is probably not hardware. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
  23. Experienced something weird this morning. On my way to school on the UNM shuttle I tried to make a call and could not get one to go through, ever after several airplane mode toggles. I then proceeded to do a speedtest and to my shock got 3g at a sub 100 ping and dl of over 1.5 mbps. I didn't believe it so I did another test and got 400ms ping and 100 kbps. I kept on getting the same bad results the more tests I did. I know I didn't change sectors of towers because my ehrpd signal strength stayed exactly the same (signalcheckpro). I wonder if they were testing backhaul stuff or if I truly did change towers/sectors without me realizing it. After I got on the bus we drive around the tower on the other side, which in theory should put me on a different sector, and I still got the same slow (normal) results. Hmmmm.....
  24. Nothing yet, but updates are starting up pretty good now as you can on sensorly maps around cruces and ep. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4
