  1. That's pretty cool. I guess roof mount sites would have to be a little different. I know that one of the ones I'll be using in Myrtle Beach this weekend is like that. I don't know if they're Samsung or Ericcson but doesn't really matter to me as long as it's decent 3G (LTE isn't launched yet in SC).
  2. Well, it's something. Not going to complain about movement right down the road from me. You talking accepted sites?
  3. I'm assuming that's because of the issues they had in Chicago with the transition? thenight84 mentioned they're going to be launching 3G in pockets around Columbus due to handoff concerns.
  4. Yeah that's my tower. The fiber was run but no new cabinets or antennas.
  5. I hope the one by me in Reynoldsburg gets he upgrade soon. They did the fiber for it a while back, but it's one of the weird ones on top of a utility tower. Probably needs a special crew.
  6. They still doing New Albany, Gahanna, and Reynoldsburg in that timeframe?
  7. It's blurry but it looks like there could easily be 6 cables there, and as you pointed out, there are two rru's. Seems like an NV upgrade to me. You should post that in the work in progress thread if its not already on the list.
  8. Everybody said we'd be more like Chicago, so it's a little disappointing if they hold off on LTE for a bit, but good 3G coverage is definitely welcome and I think we'd all be happy with 1.5-2 down for a while if it were consistent until they launched LTE. Obviously either way we should start seeing improved 3G or LTE popping up soon.
  9. As I feared.. Backhaul problems? If so, this sounds like our buildout may be more similar to how South Carolina's is. They're building out 3G sites and not launching LTE until later.
  10. Nice. Hopefully by the end of the month Columbus will start seeing accepted sites.
  11. So the consensus is that it isn't worth trying this update? No changes in download or upload speeds detected thus far?
  12. So for that site they're at least waiting on the cabinets and possibly the backhaul. Nice to see work being done though.
  13. Were there the two new Samsung cabinets at the base of the tower?
  14. Yeah there's the one new build in downtown Columbus that was built to NV specs. I think Dayton or Cleveland has a new build as well.
  15. Really hard for me to tell. I was trying to see if there were 2 RRU's per sector but I just can't see enough detail. Leaning towards those being NV panels and RRU's.
  16. I was wondering if they've been up to that since we've seen a lot of work being done, but nothing launched yet. Wondering if they're launching in clusters.
  17. Hey at least you had that. I feel like they're waiting on something and that some members here know what it is but aren't spilling the beans. I doubt that they're keeping the info on the premier sponsors side, but who knows. I get the feeling that there's some sort of green light that they're waiting on from Sprint. Doesn't make sense according to their previous launches, but I'm wondering if they're trying to have a certain amount of sites ready before turning them on at the same time. Heck, maybe they're waiting until after 6/30 and they'll just go straight to 800 Mhz 3G/LTE.
  18. Wish we knew what the hell was going on in Columbus.. Tons of work but no LTE anywhere yet.
  19. Looking at this again, what's in the second picture that you put red arrows above? Are those equipment boxes on the ground?
  20. I think you need to edit the tower name out as well as some of the other stuff since this is not the member side, and that is member side info. That said, that's awesome. Looks like they're on the Sprint level of equipment to me. You should report this with the pictures in the in progress thread on the member side.
  21. Is the monopole new? Doesn't look like new antennas or RRU's. What function does the monopole play on the tower?
  22. That's interesting that they're starting to promote it now. Those upgrades are coming and work is under way, but they seem to be holding off on turning on LTE on sites for some reason. In other cities, LTE is available as the site is ready, but they may be changing that pattern here, or there could be one piece of the work that isn't ready yet.
  23. It's no problem, I think that's gotten quite a few people.
