(UPDATED) LG Eclipse 4G casts an early shadow

Great write up as usual, I didn't even realize the quadcore variant was just a naked chip with no incorporated modems. Also, maybe I read this wrong but I thought the viper supported svdo, doesnt it?
The Viper does support SVDO.

Fire Photon torpedoes! Motorola Photon Q hits the FCC OET
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
Only if its a side slider, there are reasons people who have stuck with the epic don't want an admiral... plus it is a real missing section of high end smartphones. all other side sliders are mid-low range and seem to be focused on the pre-teen texters and people who don't know technology (sprint ID is an insult to most high end users)
This was from earlier in the month.

I'm pretty sure this is it, thus there is finally a high-end slider on Sprint.

Whatever the type of qwerty keyboard, the photon faithfuls are going to be pissed.
And Epic users will rejoice.

S4GRU first to capture Sprint LTE live in the wild!

Coverage looks pretty solid there(especially compared to WiMAX). I could just imagine that w/ some 800MHz LTE layover, mmm....

Can Band 25 be used in the space of Band 4? All Band 25 is Band 4 + G Block.

Sprint and HTC plan joint announcement, most likely the next HTC device...the S4GRU invitation must be lost in the mail!

Beat me to it! What does this mean? I haven't seen that pin in a while.
Idk, but if that is a pin, it can possibly bring back the inclusion of the iconic Pin Drop into Sprint ads.

Sprint's new Tri-Network Hotspot from Sierra Wireless targeted for May 18th Launch

Just whip out your trusty RF spectrum analyzer, and set the range to 1990-1995 MHz. You do have an RF spectrum analyzer, right? ;)AJ
This looks like a bargain.

HTC EVO successor to "Jet" onto the scene June 10th
in The Wall

If you have not already, be sure to to check out AnandTech's MSM8960 benchmarks (linked in the article). The 1.5 GHz dual core "Krait" CPU leaves in the dust most other dual core hardware on the market.Better yet, the MSM8960's performance is competitive with or superior to that of even the quad core Tegra 3, which is used in the non LTE international version of the HTC One X. It may be debatable, but Sprint seems to be getting the better CPU with the dual core MSM8960 in the HTC Jet (and another device to be named later).http://www.anandtech...nvidias-tegra-3AJ
Okay. I was wondering that since this device is coming out near the end of Q2, upgrading the processor shouldn't(AFAIK) be too much of a hassle. It might not be quad-core, but (like what you linked above) beats current dual-core devices.

I wonder if it would be possible for HTC & Sprint to get Qualcomm to speed up the Quad-core S4 chips to get them to market quicker...Maybe get it into this device?

Sprint proclaims new SDC Push-To-Talk Network virtues over iDEN
in The Wall
A group blog by The Wall Editors in General
We actually use the SDC devices here at work. Half of our staff are on the old Nextel PTT devices, and the other half are using the Motorola SDC units.
Are you in a Sprint coverage area? Any 3G? How good is it?

I wonder if Sprint is going to allow 3G roaming on SDC devices onto VZW & others until they get their own data speeds together, at least it makes SDC more useful.

"Two if by LTE!!!" declares Sprint 4G Rollout Updates as Boston is named as a Network Vision/LTE city for 2012

I wonder how much of a difference is made in voice coverage between1xCDMA2000 on 1900 Mhz (what is used currently)AND1xA on 800 Mhz with Sprint opting to use the full 70% increased coverage configuration with the same amount of users.I wish I could see what that map could look like.
I thought that they were going to go with minimum spectrum used instead of max out on coverage configuration since 800MHz already provide a big coverage gain compared to 1900MHz.
