  1. I feel bad for the crews working in PR these days. These past few days have been the hottest yet. It feels like you're going to melt when you go outside.
  2. Highly doubt it. But it could be possible under certain circumstances. The network.sprint.com page gets updated on business days only. Since Semana Santa starts tomorrow The crews would be working until Thursday IF they do work at all during the week. Depends on Ericsson's calendar.
  3. Its good to see how technology is being put to good use for people like your brother. It amazes me to think about what phones will be able to do in the next few years. Same goes for cars, they literately park themselves nowadays, soon they will drive themselves
  4. I think its a possibility for Verizon to come back. Open mobiles technology would play well with theirs & All major US carriers are here. VZW left the island in order to dump "La Telefonica"(The Puerto Rico Telephone Company which is worthless to many) to Claro/America Movil in 2007. Heres a brief history on how the VZW/Claro deal went down. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claro_Puerto_Rico Regarding a bit of NV and the rollout, I can confirm the last site in Fajardo(the one nearest to Ceiba) is broadcasting LTE. Fajardo is now 100% LTE complete according to network.sprint.com
  5. Read it a while back here. http://www.tecnetico.com/42082/sin-confirmar-verizon-wireless-adquiere-a-open-mobile/ like I said its a rumor still. Maybe it will be official in the near future.
  6. Another way to check is at network.sprint.com I type 00961 there every night and see the number of upgrades go up. Yesterday the number for that zip was 167 upgrades, today it's at 174 upgrades.
  7. Rumor has it that VZW bought open mobile. They're planning on coming back to PR I guess.
  8. I know...but after 2 years I sort of got used to having crappy service and no hope for wimax(back then when I had an OG Evo). Sprint had to do something since everyone had better service than them up until now that NV kicked in(well claro had edge and bad service in the metro area for a while lol)
  9. I went through 5 replacements galaxy nexus phones. Bought an s3 out of my pocket and it was amazing compared to the nexus. Then a buddy sold me his iPhone 5 when he switched carriers for cheap. I currently go back and forth on both phones and I think they're both solid performers rf wise. I like the 5 more because its simple and the battery lasts quite a while more in my experience.
  10. My bad for the confusion, I meant that when work started I used to have data on all of the time then. I recently switched to just wifi and my battery is lasting up to 5pm under the same conditions. I can't wait for the rest of the NV sites to get LTE, I'm in love using Pandora in my car with zero interruptions. I still can't believe PR got LTE ahead of other markets(I mean it because they didn't leave us as a 3rd round market) instead we are one of the first markets to be 100% complete
  11. Not really, having wifi helps because there are a few repeaters around the campus with the same SSID so I'm connected in 95% of the areas I move through. I turn off celular data since wifi has given me the best battery life up until now.
  12. Unplugged at 6:00am 50% by 10:00am. I just turn off cellular data and rely on wifi there.
  13. Im waiting for more sites to be upgraded to LTE. Hoping for the UPR bayamon site to get LTE soon. My phone keeps getting LTE from a distant site and that makes it switch from 3G to LTE nonstop.
  14. Yup, theres 2 towers left in fajardo without live LTE , 1 near el pueblo and another near ceiba. The tx power on the luquillo site won't be strong enough to get close to fajardo since there a lot of mountains and slopes on the way there.
  15. Went to Fajardo today and connected to LTE from the Isleta Marina site and the one at El Conquistador hotel.
  16. Try this Update the data profile From the home screen, tap Phone. On the keypad, dial ##873283# and tap Call. Tap OK. Your device searches for profile updates and installs them. Tap OK. After it completes, your device returns to the keypad. Tap the Home key. You've now updated the data profile.
  17. Reporting that the Palmas Station site in Cataño is now broadcasting LTE.
  18. Driving my every day route I noticed increased data performance. Normally when driving from UPRB to Plaza Rio Hondo I would have problems like: Siri reporting network issues when I tried to speak commands through my speaker. Pandora randomly lagging and skipping when connected to my car. But today I did all of that and didn't have a single problem Voice coverage is terrible but improving. Does the fact that sprint is upgrading their network(data-wise) affect the voice services? It would be great if someone could explain this to me. I get a ton of dropped and choppy calls while driving around Bayamon and Guaynabo. As always thanks for the responses
  19. Just confirmed. the plaza rio hondo site in bayamon has WORKING LTE. 22-25mbps while standing outside of BestBuy right in front of it.
  20. If its the one on the little island its called Isleta Marina Coverage related, I've been getting a TON of dropped calls every day in the following areas: Costco near UPRB Barrio Palmas in catano(right in front of the Palma's Station site) had to redial 10 times that day Guaynabo near the Martinez Nadal train station Plaza del Sol at the West Main Ave. This should be a sign that work is underway and will be completed soon.
  21. Sprints NV progress has slowed a bit. They need to fill the gap between Guaynabo and San Juan. No upgrades yet, still horrible voice and data services. The good news is that most of the area has at least NV 3g. There are a few completed LTE sites that haven't been turned on yet like the Rio Hondo and Palma's Station sites in Bayamon.
  22. The metro area build feels like its taking ages My phone has been really random. The clock has been changing on its own like crazy with incorrect time( I know it receives the current date and time from the tower) and when I set the time zone manually it still shows the incorrect time. I also believe the battery on my GS3 is toast, the phone is randomly powering off with a significant amount of juice left. I think I'll be visiting a sprint store soon...
  23. Theres a loophole in order to use claro wifi for free. When the login screen appears just click register enter random info and it will work. Hell, I'm a Claro customer and have never bothered to get my username and password since I have not needed it.
