Interesting, so Intel shows the modem to be capable of 5xca downlink, but on Sprint it can only make use of 4xca downlink..
Btw, Tim are you able to link to to your post about the new pixels not supporting 2xca upload and limited mimo streams

5 CA DL for B41. Just double checked the FCC filings.

If the modem support the technology... And Sprint has it enabled on the network side .. I don't see a reason as to why it won't work

The fact a modem supports a technology doesn't matter. It's down to the manufacturer to license the specific technology and engineer the device's RF hardware to take advantage of it.
The iPhones For Sprint are (not XR) are 4x4 B25/41, 256/64 QAM, 5 DL CA, 2 UL CA (B7 / 41 2CC).

I totally missed the mini-mac, was looking in the wrong part of the photo. Interesting setup. Trying to squeeze everything out of B25 since B41 is limited?
Guessing so. Thinking they likely used a RF combiner to a hex port antenna as typical ALU HC CDMA / LTE sites in the past did and they got rid of it for this setup.

Thanks! Will “current” HPUE devices be compatible with an updated FCC transmit power restriction or will this require a new handset?
This is a restriction for health reasons. Maximum permissible exposure to RF.

FCC transmit power restriction. Will this be addressed with new hardware and/or software?

2.5 mini Mac with quad port antenna next to it.
Iirc they're spectrum constrained with the largest B41 carrier available being 15 MHz. Lots of non contiguous 6 MHz chunks all over.I'm a little confused on what's happening here. Is this site B25/B26 only?

There's An additional product for the magic box that does cdma voice.does this become the airave replacement as well?

Guessing ethernet or wifi takes precedence if they're set up and relay is used if those two are unavailable. So if it's plugged into Ethernet and internet goes down, does it switch to the Macro automatically? Then switch back when Ethernet is back online? Now it switching back and forth automatically will be an interesting thing to see since initial relay setup takes many minutes....

i suppose with the wifi backhaul option this will finally work in places like Maine where the relay stuff was not possible?
Could be especially since it can do a 10 MHz B41 carrier. That'll help out a lot in regions where Sprint can't do 20 MHz B41 carriers considering EBS BRS is licensed in 6 MHz chunks.

Sprint Gen 3 announced (4th version).
http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-announces-faster-more-powerful-and-smaller-sprint-magic-box.htm
Highlights.
QuoteThe newest Sprint Magic Box is a free-standing unit that dramatically improves data coverage and increases download speeds on average by 250 percent[1] to provide nearby Sprint customers a better data and customer experience overall. The LTE Advanced-capable device uses 4x4 MIMO, higher order modulation (256QAM) and three-carrier aggregation within Sprint’s licensed spectrum for a reliable, sustainable experience.
Sprint Magic Box has a color screen that clearly displays key information, two USB ports for charging devices, and an Ethernet port for future support of network devices.
Gen 3 can do 3 methods... Relay via 3CA 4x4 MIMO 256/64 QAM, WiFi, and ethernet.

112.5 Mbps isn't that B41 config 2 and not B25 15x15?
The code rate (symbol rate) for QAM could have also changed from the last time I looked at B25 so just checking.
20 MHz 2x2 MIMO 64 QAM = 150 mbps
15 MHz 2x2 MIMO 64 QAM = 150 * 0.75 = 112.5 mbps
15 MHz 2x2 MIMO 256 QAM = 112.5 * 1.33 = 150 mbps
15 MHz 4x4 MIMO 256 QAM = 150 x 2 = 300 mbps

36.7 5x5 2x2 mimo lte so 15 mhz is 36.7 *3=110.1 Mbps
To go to 4 streams from 2 that is 220.2 Mbps
Then ~30% for QAM increase so 286.26 Mbps. (QAM can be push until it fails think weaker signal so it changes.)
(112.5*1.33*2) ~ 300 mbps.

Where in the report is the UL CA usually listed?
If UL CA is supported, as it's transmission from a device, it must be declared and listed. Under LTE Carrier Aggregations supported it'll declare downlink and uplink if so.

The frequency in use by telecommunications networks, ie 600,700,800,850,1700-2100,1900, 2300, 2500, 3.5 and beyond do not interfere with ethernet cabling or unlicensed 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz. Any 5 GHz unlicensed LTE eNBs will scan for 5 GHz wifi signals and self optimize to not interfere with them.
Run all those ethernet drops and WAPs to your hearts content as per your rf survey planning.

Essential phone does not support UL CA or 4x4 MIMO according to its FCC filing.
Having a modem that supports something doesn't matter if the RF front end doesn't.

If it was a spectrum squatter owned by AT&T, then as part of the sale of WCS to AT&T, pressure them to throw in the SanFran BRS.
So what you're saying is you want the government to retroactively apply acquisition requirements for an acquisition that was approved and consummated 6 years ago?

They should have settle this chit out. It has been 13 years since the Nextel merger. 13 freaking years!!!! The same thing with all the SMR spectrum. I ascribe it to nothing but executive incompetence.
Purchasing spectrum from spectrum squatters / speculators only legitimizes them in the eyes of the FCC and other government agencies. They demand money that far excesses the value of the spectrum and in the majority of previous cases require legal action to free up the spectrum for use that benefits the public. Ascribe all you want but speculators know what they're doing and it's basically extortion to telecommunications carriers like Sprint who have the capability to put said spectrum into immediate use while they do nothing with it.

Fascinating experience yesterday with ALU 8T8R and Nokia 2.5 small cells. Surprisingly I have not dropped to EVDO / 1x in this 800'less market. 1900 holds on for dear life.
Oh and 3xCA B41 4x4 MIMO on 2.5 helps too I guess?
