Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I've never really dabbled in cross-pollination device versions before myself at all to get up to speed on this:  what actually qualifies as 'BYOD'?   Does it have to be an explicitly unlocked version of a phone, or can you put the appropriate Sprint SIM into any carrier-origination version of the listed devices above and have it work?

BYOD meaning you purchased the device not directly from Sprint or a device that is not sold by Sprint but compatible with them such as Pixels and Moto devices.

i have the pixel 3 xl and the 506TQ however i am being told that i need the 516TQ could me using the 506TQ cause high latency and loss of RCS?

These are the compatible sim cards. The 516TQ is not .

Edit: typod. 516 TQ is compatible.

Geez... Am I reading this chart right?  Pixel 1, 2 and 3 all require different SIM????

    Si.

CSIM. ISIM. ISIM whatever V now. It's the one used for this generations devices which has CDMA+LTE authentication on the Sim. Needed for future hot swapping.

Possible small cell sighting. Don’t know the carrier but it’s the first I’ve seen in the Jacksonville market. On Wells Road Orange Park. In front of Burger King.

Antenna pictures are not that useful for identifying carriers for small cells since they're all pretty much very similar omnis.  Need pics of the actual equipment if there is any.

I've been lurking in this thread for some time, and I have a question.

I'm using SignalCheck Pro to help me navigate the mess Sprint has in my Macomb area. I was wondering if there's a post explaining the indicators shon after band number, like

    B41² or B41 SC or B25² 10x10

I understand some, but not all, the nomenclature. Is there a list of their various meanings?

    TIA.

In the app you want to tap on the three dots then Help.. and it'll detail the nomenclature. I'll suggest that Mike have it made clearer on how to find the info since it's been something has has constantly been brought up by new people to SCP.

    TLDR: B41 ^# = GCI identified B41 carriers #1,2,3 & so on. Likewise with B25^#

B41 SC = airspan small cell / B41 MM = nokia mini macros

I just saw B41 3rd carrier in SCP. I checked the engineering screen and Shentel apparently added a 10Mhz 3rd carrier to my local tower. I'm in Woodstock, VA. Is anyone else seeing this? BTW, the 3rd carrier was at 41324.

So 20+20+10? That's a new config that hasn't been seen before.

In many regions they have BRS high which is 2618-2673.5 which is basically 55 MHz wide. 2673.5-2690 is EBS which often times is not leased by Sprint so they use EBS where possible. I wonder if they could do 20+20+15... maybe..

Is rhis 3 carrier band 41 small cell ?http://imgur.com/gallery/i4Cyhxz.                             http://imgur.com/a/Kan2Y6T

    Unlikely.

SCP tries to take an educated guess on small cells.

B41 SC only shows when it uses traditional GCI endings but also uses the market GCI prefix in use for B25/26 since that's how Airspan units are set as. Nokia stuff ends as in 3x / 4x which makes it easier to identify it as a Nokia cell (but can't differentiate type of small cell).

  7. Yep. Typically if they're deploying 8t8r on Clear conversions it's a triband setup with 16 port antennas for 2x4 800, 4x4 1.9, and 2.5. They swapped to massive mimo entitlements and permits earlier this spring. Which entails new racks to be built for 6 antennas. Lot more money and work which are in short supply for Clear conversions.

There’s one site that Sprint rippped out the Clearwire gear. Installed a rack and installed a massive panel on each sector with the microwave backhaul still attached.

  8. They're doing a ton of behind the scene software updates which has done a number to many markets.

Ie. 4x4 deployment on the network broke B41 for my stock pixel 1g. They've disabled 4x4 after weeks of my complaining and it's working again now.

Other users have had hand off or hard drop issues and the like which corresponds to known software updates to the eNBs.

That's why I'm confused.  The order said Gen 2 (CPO was in the description so thinking it is Certified Pre Owned?) but my Sprint Account says Gen 3.  I checked in the box and it says AU544, so I want to say it's a Gen 2.

    Gotta love Sprints device backend!

As far as we are told, GEN 3's aren't shipping out til November time frame.

My device on my account says Airspan Magic Box Gen 3, does that mean I received a Gen 3?  I ordered it on Sunday 9/16/18 and received it today 9/19/18 but my wife won't let me open it until the weekend.  The label has the AU545/U545 numbers on the cardboard box which I found it saying that it is Gen 2.  Is the Gen 3 the only one with 2 USB ports for charging other devices?

Take a look inside and see what's in there.

AU545 is the Gen 1 public release. The AU544 is GEN2 public release. The AU587 is the expected Gen 3.
