  1. These Mini Macros are great. However, I wish they were capable of more than 2CA given the prevalence of 3CA and 4CA Sprint devices available. What's the upgrade path for these Mini Macros? Switching them out for new Macro gear (perhaps 8T8R builds) eventually and moving them to other locations which need them until new funding is available for new Macro builds?
  2. Sprint just deployed a kick-ass DAS for the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/903275601464889345
  3. At a certain point, influencers become so infiltrated in society that it becomes highly conformist to follow them... which is what influencers are supposed to be against, being their own brands and all. As a pragmatic shareholder, I'm ok with this if it helps Sprint sell more phones and gain customers.
  4. If this was professional wrestling, Günther would swoop in with his special move: a High Performance User Equipment bodyslam, and then shout to the crowd "You ain't seen nothing yet."
  5. Sprint Is Betting Big On Influencer Marketing With Its #LiveUnlimited Campaign https://www.inc.com/nicolas-cole/sprint-is-betting-big-on-influencer-marketing-with.html Very interesting article about Sprint's new influencer marketing strategy.
  6. Verizon’s good unlimited data plan is now three bad unlimited plans Cheapest plan limits video to 480p, and there’s no way to watch 1080p on a phone anymore https://www.theverge.com/2017/8/22/16181362/verizon-new-unlimited-data-plan-video-throttling-net-neutrality Looks like Verizon could be running out of capacity... Unlimited has hit them pretty hard. It's now also clear why they were doing that "Netflix Test" not too long ago. Sprint's Unlimited Freedom Plan with 1080P HD Streaming included is becoming a much better value... and you also have the option of Ultra HD Streaming for an additional $10/Month per line. Don't get any ideas Sprint...
  7. Could be network preparations for the eclipse even though it's not listed specifically? https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/17/here-is-where-cellular-carriers-are-increasing-coverage-for-the-solar-eclipse.html "Sprint will add capacity to its existing towers, in addition to deploying temporary cell towers. The company also said it is adding its high-band spectrum to locations, which Sprint said is "good at moving large amounts of data traffic and supporting large crowds."" "The company also said customers in remote locations can improve service by managing data usage, disabling app updates on their devices temporarily and using text messaging when in a crowded or congested location."
  8. https://twitter.com/rogersolerafols/status/898649411965734912 1000 Sprint stores are opening across the country. I hope there's a Macro Site or Mini-Macro outside each one, and at least an AIRAVE 3 or Magic Box inside each one.
  9. No problem! Check to make sure your lines are set up with the Premium International Experience: https://www.sprint.com/en/support/solutions/international/faqs-about-premium-international-experience.html
  10. Since 2 Year Contracts are no longer available from Sprint, staying on an old plan meant for Subsidized Devices doesn't make as much sense as it used to. Any Sprint customers who picked an unlimited data handset plan after October 16, 2015 or who upgraded their handset on or after that date are subject to deprioritization. So you can be deprioritized on ED1500 from an upgrade, and at point, changing to Unlimited Freedom makes sense to do.
  11. Unlimited Freedom has 10 GB of Mobile Hotspot and includes the Premium International Experience for Global Roaming. Your ED1500 plan doesn't have Hotspot. You could be better off on Unlimited Freedom overall without Loyalty Credits than on Everything Data 1500 with Loyalty Credits. Two Year Contracts are no longer available from Sprint, and being on an old Subsidized Plan without having a Subsidized device can be more expensive. You should consider switching to Unlimited Freedom in this case I think.
  12. https://twitter.com/guengott68/status/897867126756790272 @Sprint #NYC Network team breaking down the magic behind our #innovative #SmallCells! #LTE #5G #WorksForMe #WednesdayWisdom Nice picture! What is it?
  13. Magic Box pre-order has closed: https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/services/magic-box.html?ECID=vanity:getmagicbox "At this time we have closed our priority request form as we prepare for product launch. If you have already submitted your registration, but haven’t heard from us, you should be contacted soon!" The Magic Box status page was also updated on August 11th: https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/services/magic-box/status.html
  14. At 3 Years later, Marcelo has done an incredible job so far with what he inherited at the time.... and it can be easy to forget what a mess it was. I'm excited for what lies ahead. I think Sprint will surprise a lot of people.
  15. As I recall, Marcelo changed the strategy for Band 41 deployment to prioritize certain areas and entirely stop work in others. However, based on what we've seen for Sprint's CapEx over the last few years since Marcelo's tenure, it seems to have less to do with prioritization at this point and more to do with actual funds available for CapEx. You'd think that Sprint's debt load didn't leave much room for CapEx, but Marcelo said they didn't have a "capital constraint as it relates to spending CapEx" (https://seekingalpha.com/article/4075474-sprints-ceo-marcelo-claure-presents-j-p-morgan-global-technology-media-telecom-conference) Phil Cusick I guess, it’s only four years, I apologies. Seems like longer, so, and yet, we really haven’t seen that big push with capital and now you are talking about doubling CapEx this year. Is that enough? Is it -- can you really drive the business faster or is there still level of capital constrains that you feel like which don’t have the money to really drive as fast as we like? Marcelo Claure So that’s a huge misconception. We have never had a capital constrain as it relates to spending CapEx. What -- we were always challenge with, I says, is there really a need to spend as much as everybody else to create a great network experience and I think that’s a huge misconception of the industry that you set up a cap and I have seen even in -- within my team, you set up a CapEx budget and then people fight hard to go spend that money. And in many cases without need or they go by gear or they try to do unnatural things in order to basically hit that CapEx number. Look at the quality of our network and look how much money we have spent. We have spent the lowest amount of CapEx in -- and be able to deliver the fastest progress than anybody else. Now, why, because we spent a lot of money before through our network vision we were the higher spenders as it relates to the number of customers that we have. So we have set up a really good foundation, very good place now. We are going to do massive densification of our network. We plan to deploy millions of Magic Boxes. And what we told -- the way we look at it we should be spending plus minus $4 billion for the next three years and that should allow us to get where we want to get with the network.
  16. Can you believe it's been 3 years since Marcelo's first day as CEO at Sprint? https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/896128475655921664
  17. Sprint's Coverage Map just received an update today. Sprint's native 3G-only areas are definitely shrinking. Keep it going!
  18. Good progress: http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-lte-plus-data-speeds-up-28-in-seven-months.htm Additional context from Marcelo: https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/896006240446234624 https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/896006542813569026 https://twitter.com/marceloclaure/status/896007046507540480
  19. It's so hard to keep this all straight. Just a whirlwind of "familiar with the matter" tips. Some of it is behind the scenes discussion. Other parts of it seem to be public posturing and trial balloons.
  20. Now Altice is potentially in the mix: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/09/altice-weighing-bid-for-charter-communications.html
  21. Still going at it... https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2017/08/07/sprint-and-t-mobile-again-exploring-merger-report-says/544504001/ Marcelo did say this about the "near future" during the Earnings Call: (http://www.seekingalpha.com/article/4093250) Raul Marcelo Claure - Sprint Corp. So, Jonathan, as you can appreciate, we don't discuss a lot of what happens as it relates to potential M&A, and we're going to leave that to final announcement that should be coming in the near future. What I can tell you is the discussions – we're having discussions with everybody. And I think our job, when we took over Sprint three years ago, was to give Sprint – bring Sprint back to having options. And I can tell you that today, we have plenty of options, and we've had discussions with a lot of different parties. Obviously, companies that are in the same industry as we are, and companies that are not. I was a bit surprised to see Charter's announcement in terms of that they had no interest in buying Sprint. To be clear, Sprint was never offered for Charter to buy. It was a part of the bigger play that has been reported, but I was a bit surprised to see an announcement coming like that from Charter. At this point in time, we continue discussions with different parties. And I can tell you that we are incredibly encouraged, and I think an announcement will be coming in the near future. So, we feel very good in terms of the options that we have built, and the potential transactions that we could have.
  22. When Sprint issues news releases, they often say how much they've spent on the network in a certain area over the last 3-5 years. For example: http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-expands-in-northern-california-with-43-new-retail-stores-creating-more-than-300-jobs.htm Also: http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprint-expands-in-midwest-region-with-30-new-retail-stores-creating-more-than-200-jobs.htm
  23. Sprint's competition would love to have this info. That's why Sprint will not make it public. Aggregate CapEx after the fact and a forecast is all we'll get from Sprint.
