  1. Sure its the same. It's a fee for service. But let's take your average for non-ED plans of mid-$60. Say $65 over 24 months thats $1560 for one line and one phone. For my ED I average $60 a month for 24 months for one line. That's $1440. Plus the $200 I had to pay for the phone up front. That's $1640 for one line and one phone. Hey wait I'm getting ripped off. I'll be glad when everyone gets off those below average non-contract plans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Sure the more lines you add the more you save with any plan. I have 3 lines on the ED. I pay $179 before taxes and fees and discounts. 3 @ $60. I also had to pay a few $100 up front for the 3 phones. Not far off from your average. The people really below the average are those that took advantage of the Framily plan and are paying $25 or $30 for service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. OK fair enough. What is the average? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Underpaying? What have we been underpaying for exactly? I guess if gas prices are cheaper in my area than yours then I guess I've been underpaying there as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. yes they have a 40 GB promotion. I will look into the field issue sometime tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I had this posted in another thread but thought I would just make it its own. It looks like Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T now have comparable setups of family share plans with different sized buckets and line access fees, etc. I had some time to blow today and decided to build a comparison spreadsheet to highlight some the different bucket sizes with line fees and costs for 2, 3, 4, and X number of lines: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RNAKspxIBAiQotHFJBhmV0TC2xxBO-_00lef6Qb_hLA/htmlview?pli=1 You can edit the green box to include more than 4 lines and the far-right corner should reflect the cost. This spreadsheet includes AT&T's recently announced rate plans. This based on non-contract, non-subsidized line fees. This is my first time using Google Spreadsheets so hopefully I set the protection levels properly. This also does not include T-Mobile because they do not seem to have a shared data plan offer as of right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. On the announcement page for the new AT&T share plan, I'm trying to reconcile this statement: "If a customer purchases a device on our installment payment plan, AT&T Next, or brings their own phone they will continue to receive a $25 per line discount for unlimited calling and texting on 15GB plans or higher. AT&T Next customers on other Mobile Share Value plans receive a $15 discount per month." So if you sign up 3 lines for the 15GB plan and bring your own phones, would that mean: $100 + (3 * $15) - (3 * $25) = $70 Maybe I'm just reading it wrong.
  9. How about Sprintelmax. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That sounds like VZW. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Well OK then. Was a nice idea while it lasted.
  12. The more i think about it the less I'm convinced all 4 would be necessary. There would be almost too much overlap. They need at least one of the big 2 and then one or both of the small 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The joke is they already had something named AppleTalk: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleTalk Besides I think under Tim Cook Apple seems to be going away from the "i" names. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Another article: http://www.popsci.com/apple-takes-another-step-be-your-cell-carrier Hey I know, they can call it AppleTalk. Ha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I agree. It would have to support multiple networks to be a viable option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. First off that was a tongue in cheek comment (hence the emoji). Second, yes to entice non-Apple users they would have to price it right. However Apple has far more "fanboys" than Google so some of us...err them might buy in even at the same price as Google Fi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yeah, like Project Fi but better because Apple is doing it. LOL [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. http://www.macrumors.com/2015/08/03/apple-considers-mobile-carrier/ This article says its still 5years out but in testing in the US. Most iPhone users are more loyal to the phone than the carrier so this would probably work for Apple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I like this recent objective review of 3 out of 4 carriers (no Sprint yet): Edit: I can't seem to add a link all of the sudden. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. You know if I go to that URL logged in I see a different version of the page then if I'm not logged in. I see the blurb about the fee being waived for life now after logging out. Never mind me, carry on.
  21. This is what I saw on that page below the comparison and related it to the offer: No big deal. It's just not clear on the website that its waived for life.
  22. Where are you seeing that about being waived for life? If you expand the family plan section And look under the See the Savings section of the following it says access fees waived until 9/30/2016: http://www.sprint.com/shop/plan-wall/?view=unlimitedtalk#!/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like Sprint has changed their share plans again. And the new plan offers for $100 and $120 simply have their access fees waived until Sept 2016. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
